    I needed to find this video so badly! This is exactly what I think I have - same shoulder. It’s too loose after a fall onto an outstretched arm.

    So informational. I’m dealing with this right now. I’m doing a shoulder stability program now, but I don’t want surgery.

    I'm doing the same therapy now for a slap tear and hoping it works. Was the patient in this video able to go back to her activities without surgery? Thanks in advance!

      Thanks very much for the reply, that's very encouraging. Unfortunately I also have a partial tear of the infraspinatus which just flared up and my ortho didnt know about. While building up the shoulder muscles for the slap tear I may have done more damage to the infraspinatus

    hello, I did an MRI recently. I have a slap tear type II. The pain and feeling of weakness occurs while working out, or boxing. From 0 to 10. The pain would be 6. I ve never had any accident or falling. This is the consequence of over working out. (repetitive movement). Would you recommend surgery ? Or only physiotherapy for several months ?

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  4 года назад

      If it’s happened recently I would go though a solid rehab program first. It’s probably a degenerative tear over time. I gather you haven’t seen anyone about it?

    My shoulder dislocated approximately 8 times . So in MRI report tear in labrum . Is it cured without surgery . Only with excercise.

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  2 года назад

      If you are not getting any better and exhausted all possible rehab options then surgery could be an option

    Tim what do you think about prolotyerapy to regenerated the tear and tendons, in conjunction with softening the muscles surrounding the shoulder with physical therapy.

    HEY DOC I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. Do you know the best option for longterm shoulder support? what is the best brace? some of them are super uncomfortable. i wish that tape could last 1 month. do they have semi permanent injury tape?

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  Год назад

      I would look at rehab rather than supports. My program is here: physiorehab.com/rehab-programs-shoulder-injury-surgery-rehab
      But if you need a good support as well head to bauerfiend

    I had label tear arth surgery 4 years ago. Did endless rehab and still do regularly but my arm and shoulder is still in a lot of pain and it’s chronic. Right now, it’s my forearm, hand, and bicep at the armpit that hurts the most. Just doesn’t heal...

    In the beginning he points to her shoulder and points to the bone and says that’s a sign of a labrum tear. I have the same sign on my shoulder. I have a four part proximal humerus fracture and my orthopedic is sending me for PT without doing an MRI. This injury occurred May 29th 2018.

    I had SLAP repair surgery two weeks ago and the doctor cleared me for removing the sling and starting rehab going into next week (week 3). They said that I can start actively moving my my arm forward and laterally, but not across body or reaching around my back.
    I’m not physically able to really lift the arm in either direction on my own for lack of feeling. Is this normal, and should I be trying to force these movements?

      I had slap tear surgery 4 years ago and nothing improved at all. The bursitis is bad and my entire arm is in constant pain. Had another mri and doctors said there was nothing more that they could do. I rehab and strength train regularly.

      @@physiorehab the rehab was excellent, I'm 99.9 percent recovered and can lift heavy again, range of motion is also very good but I'll start with essentric pull-ups and later will use a loop band and try to perfect my form and then go for actual pull ups

    After doing all this physio work and if it's a small tear will the tear heal by itself? Or will there always be a tear?

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  7 лет назад +2

      Usually a labral tear does not heal. A lot don't need surgery though if they are small, but also depending on what sport / activity you are doing in your life.

    People say the labrum never heals Could the same be said about a rotator cuff injury.? I had one in the pass and did some stretching and movement s and it was brand new. Now I have a labrum injury and it's no where as near paind full as the rotator cuff injury but it's still preventing me from benching like I want to

    Just had surgery for my SLAP tear Dec. 17th, when should I start moving my arm and doing PT?

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  8 лет назад

      +David Harmon By PT do you mean Personal Training or Physiotherapy? Yuo should have a post-surgery protocol given to you by your surgeon?

    • @Airborne82
      @Airborne82 8 лет назад

      Physical therapy. Is it okay to let my arm out of the sling and hang for a short bit? How long should the muscle ache from where they inserted the instruments? Thank you for the response.

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab  8 лет назад

      +David Harmon Sling is usually 6 weeks - out for showering and that's about it. from 4-6 weeks you can discontinue during the night but still during the day. After 6 weeks - no more sling.
