This is a very emotional poem written from the point-of-view of Victoria Cruz, the protagonist of two of my poetry collections. This is part of the book: A Romance in Letters. In this short lyric poem, Victoria had a panic attack, and turns to Peter Langley for support. Later, while walking around her favorite lake, she reflects that her feelings for Peter are growing.

    Breakthrough
    by: Veronica Suarez
    Yesterday swirls like a mass
    whirlwind. Yesterday, my nerves,
    spinning needle veins.
    Today, the sky spreads
    like blue-starched
    linen sheets.
    And wind that blows by
    like pink cotton candy.
    You held my pain
    in your callused palm.
    I rested there
    like a swan.
    Everything bright and glimmering
    near this lake. Clouds transform
    into dragons, giants, and stallions.
Autumn is near. Near, the way
I’d like your curls to twirl my skin.
    Near, your hair like barley.
    I bend with the wind
    like the thin, palm leaves.
    I’d bend like the wind
    if you kissed me.

The sky splitted like blue linen...I stopped everything and put my headphone to listen it all from then...I had ear orgasms listening to your pearls of poetry dear...every word of it is drenched with emotions that leaves you calm and sleepy...and undeniably your voice sedated me along with words. Beautiful. Very Beautiful Veronica. 👌🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💐💐❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

i liked it. The internal rhymes pulsed the poem. Nice. Rodney
