    Hi Stale. Great review! I’ve been test driving the Evolve2 85 as my work headphones for about 2 months now and it’s made my 10 hr work shifts a lot easier. I’ve found all features are as advertised. Working from home during the pandemic is challenging with all of the household distractions. The Jabra ANC blocks out all outside noise and helps keep me better focused. Hear-through mode sounds crystal clear, like you aren’t wearing headphones at all. The busy light lets the family know that I’m on a call so do not disturb. The cups are so comfortable that I forget I’m wearing headphones. I’m excited that I’m no longer physically tethered to my computer set up thanks to the headphone’s strong Bluetooth connection. I can actually walk around my home & even outside to take out the trash and still stay connected to my work PC. The headphones stay wirelessly connect to my work PC and my personal iPad simultaneously with no problems. When I’m listening to a music on my iPad & a call comes through my work PC, the Jabra automatically switches and prioritizes my soft phone Fuze app so that I can take the incoming work call seamlessly. Call quality is excellent & battery Life is superb. The Jabra Sound-plus app allows for precise fine tuning of the headset settings. I’m totally impressed. There is a small learning curve in terms of set up but once mastered, everything is smooth sailing.

    Hi Stale, the EPOS ADAPT 660 has an auto pause/play feature via the inbuilt proximity sensor. You need to enable the same via the Smart control App.

    Jabra did an update and the introduced usb-c audio. And apparently also the mic boom arm quality has been improved. i will get the Jabra tomorrow to see if it can tick my boxes, or if I have to go for a DECT headset + keep my bose QC35 /Airpods pro for traveling.

    Working from home still test driving Evolve2 85 380c. I’m impressed with the many advertised features so far however the red busy-light doesn’t work on my Dell PC windows 64 bit w/ Teams and Fuze. It works on my iPhone calls but not on my PC. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Thanks for this comparison Ståle, appreciated! The Adapt 660 actually can be set to pause music when taking them off. In the manual it says this "Smart Pause" function must be set in the Smart control app and is inactive as default,

    What kind of USB dongle have you on the Evolve 2 (USB A or C)? I read lot of negative feedback with the A version when the C looks work much more better.

    •  4 года назад

      The dongle that comes with the device is USB A. Never seen a USB C based UC dongle yet. The Evolve uses USB C to charge

    • @IceCall
      @IceCall 4 года назад

      @ The Evolve 2 85 is declined in 8 bundles: MS/UC USB A, MS/UC USB C, MS/UC USB A + Charging station, MS/UC USB C + Charging station.
      Also, it is important to take in confederation with the USB A dongle to plug him on a USB 3.0 port (blue port).
      Other things to share if people have issues with JABRA USB A dongle, I tested yesterday the headset with the last ASUS bluetooth dongle in 5.0 (BT500) and I've seen no difference with the JABRA USB C one's.

    •  4 года назад

      @@IceCall cool, I think the USB C refers to charging and not the USB dongle. I believe the dongle is USB A regardless. I could be wrong of course, do you have any details?

    •  4 года назад

      Also would recommend to stick to the dongle which comes with the device, that is where the Teams specific drivers and codecs reside and makes sure buttons on the headset works with Teams and so on.

    • @IceCall
      @IceCall 4 года назад +1

      @ Jabra provide 2 different versions of the BT dongle pre-appaired : the Link 380A and the Link 380C depending what USB you need. For the Teams requirement you would have right. whith the UC versions,I've no issue with the BT500 from ASUS on Teams meetings until now.

    How well is the EPOS Impact 5066 to be the headset for traveling and reading compares to Epos Adapt 660?

    •  3 года назад

      The EPOS Impact 50xx headsets is not well suited for travel, they have a base which you connect the headset too, but are great for WFH these days. I just wanted to compare the headset with the allround focus headsets out there :)

    • @TheRoxas13th
      @TheRoxas13th 3 года назад

      @ Yeah figured out about the traveling. How well the headset for reading and keeping our focus? How's the audio?

    •  3 года назад

      @@TheRoxas13th I think the audio is good enough for focusing on work and reading, but Adapt 660 has better audio of course

    I've actually tested both the Jabra Evolve2 85 and Poly (PLT) UC8200 Voyager on Teams with a colleague. With Jabra the background noise is very much there even with ANC on, but the PLT blocks the background noise completely. I've used the PLT UC 8200 Voyager for 3 years before the Jabra but never tested the noise cancellation. Hopefully this will be fixed with a firmware release. Is there any link we can provide user feedback to Jabra?

    •  4 года назад +1

      Thanks, I don't have any link for feedback to Jabra

  • @johnpintocarvajal848
    @johnpintocarvajal848 4 года назад

    It is just me or these headsets have such a poor ANC ? When I set ANC to max level I still listen a lot (in my opinion) from background noise (such a car passing nearby), ( I am comparing having as a reference the noise insulation that AirPods Pro offer -naturally in ear vs over ear technology)
    Is Bose’s ANC significantly better than Adapt 660, or my expectations are too high ?

    •  4 года назад +1

      I think they do great, especially on airplanes, but good in ear may be better at blocking maybe

    I don't understand the "teams certified thing". I use a 5$ or 10$ Jabra headset on Teams on a weekly basis, without issue. How advantageous is this certification factor? It looks just a gimmick to me. The headset qualities are its sound (and features/connectivity, etc). Because the certification doesn't actually say whether a device works on Teams or not; it just says it is approved by Microsoft. But almost all headsets work for Teams because Teams is just an app like any other :) What attracts me on the EPOS 660 is the sound quality, its subtle style and its connectivity (both of which allow me to use it oudoors connected to my phone), and its new tech features.

    •  3 года назад +1

      I wrote a blog post on why Teams Certified devices here msunified.net/2020/05/24/why-certified-for-microsoftteams-is-important/

      Thanks
      Ståle! I have to admit that, after reading all of that, certification definitely is important, lol. I guess I have been lucky with my cheap headset so far (I have to say I'm also working in a noiseless environment). Have a good one! :)
