Absolutely you should do more! I think this video demonstrates the actual joy of AI art right now and that is the concept of sparking ideas and thoughts. chat GPT did put together this small pitch but your deep dive into it expanded it into something worth talking about or thinking about. In that sense I think this is a very fun idea Id love to see more of
ChatGPT gives better outcomes if you embed in the prompt other points of reference before you ask him to create an outcome. Start by giving it a role, the ideal market, topic, purpose, context, details, tone of voice and call to action.
Before ChatGPT, weren't we doing essentially the same thing with the way executives used algorithms to greenlight movies and the way writers used what came before to make movies that would have predictable success? All the positives and negatives of computer algorithms on the creative field have already happened. ChatGPT just threatens to accelerate them.
I think that having a human writer is part of the charm of most stories. I gives us someone to be a fan of and let's us deep dive on the context of the story (for better or worst). It also feels like the themes of the story are honest and come from the mid of the author. That's why we hate when corporate media botches the original themes of a beloved IP. This is why we love JRR tolkien and his books but hate amazon's ROP. They strip away all of the nuance crativity of the original story.
Jared, as you said in the end, the fact that you are still talking about the Reloaded after all these years ... maybe, it wasn't the movie you wanted, but definitely the movie you needed!
I like the explanation that neo ISNT the one I also like that nobody lets neo be who he wants to be They either force him to be Thomas Anderson or they force him to be The One But he doesn’t actually want to be either He just wants to be himself
Echo should be played by Guy Pierce going by those images used. Still feels like Chat GPT took a lot of what was already in those Matrix sequels though.
Not a Reloaded apologist or anything, but I think the Agents are chasing the Keymaster because Neo has to believe he’s fighting the system, which fits within the theme of the illusion of choice and control.
An agent gets within a second of deleting The Keymaker before Morpheus ninja kicks him. I don’t think we’re meant to believe Neo, and his ally’s paths, are determined down to the second. But if the wachowskis knowingly made the error just to motivate a cool action sequence, I can’t blame them. Only mega nerds care.

Archeos challenges Ethan's beliefs, introducing him to the concept of "The Origin Code," a hidden program that governs the destiny of both man and machine. Archeos believes that humanity's true potential lies in embracing its symbiotic relationship with technology, while Ethan grapples with the idea of preserving human autonomy. This was fantastic, I'm glad the algorithm recommended this channel. I'd actually love to see what an AI would come up with for Episode 7 if it were made in the 80s.
Dude, his mirror was named Echo. Get it? Not sure this would make it past a Buyer unless you told him it was Chatgpt. That's the trick to this: it wouldn't be that appealing without the Matrix as context. Like other A.I. art, we marvel at its proximity to our humanity but not ITS humanity. It will not create JAWS or TAXI DRIVER or anything without it being contextualized by something else's humanity. You point out the glorious mistakes. What about the glorious mistakes in the art you actually love? What about Scorcese accidentally inserting discontinuity in TAXI DRIVER and then keeping it? Or messing with POV just so they can have a scene with Harvey and Jodie dancing? Or the shark not working leading to what? The reliance on filmmaking to install suspense instead of the most obvious thing we think people want: the shark! So, as a tool, sure. It will let human beings express themselves in wonderful ways. But as an expression of itself... nope. Once you get some distance you'll realize: that pitch was bad. Objectively. Isolated from the thing that animates it (a human creation: the matrix) it is a piece of badly articulated pulp that gets rejected everyday.
Really enjoyed this video. I liked your more nuanced look at the benefits of AI and the shortcomings in writing. I'd love to see more in the same vein.
This was actually incredible. I'm more interested in analyzing this proposed film than Reloaded/Revolutions. I apologize about the wall of text. The Matrix trilogy is my favorite series. I've seen the original literally dozens of times, and it started my interest in philosophy when I was 9-years-old and is, in many ways, why I went on to get a degree in philosophy. One thing I've always been disappointed by is the lack of subtlety in the sequels, because so much is just explained outright. You can dig deeper, of course, but in the original you MUST dig deeper to understand it. It almost seems like this imagined sequel is more true to the original, and I'd be very excited to see a fan film or something of it. Is there any way you'd be willing to share your dialogue with the AI if there was any more to it than what you shared on screen? ChatGPT has an option to export, or you could copy-paste to a doc?
The only thing AI doesn't seem to get is action scenes. Humans will be needed for that for a long time coming. Then again there are a LOT of movies with bad and incoherent action scenes already.
I think we should focus on using AI (technology) for things we don't like to do, but have to do. But it feels a little counter produktive to use AI to do the things we love to do our self. On the other hand, one of the thing that brings me the most joy is musik, videos, projects etc. people have done as a hobby. When we do things just because we like to do them and not as a means to and end. And AI can't ever do that, it can only be used as a tool to do that. (Just as you did in the video)
Very interesting. I honestly like Matrix Reloaded. The expectations back then were way too high, and the film is a bit clumsy (I believe it had a troubled development) but rewatching it many years later I’m relatively happy with the trilogy. Now the fourth film, ehh…..
The first Matrix was such an good movie I would put it in the best movies category, be the sequels were so awful, just imagine they do not exist, just like with all the starwars movies expect for the first ones. Honestly they could have gone so much further with the matrix(virtual world) aspect of it than they did. Why not make it so that there are ai-human factions/societies on other places be it on earth or the moon or somewhere other place in the galaxy. It is the future after all, isnt it. Why not dwell deeper into virtual worlds that actually are different than what we were presented with in the movies and where Neo either just visits or need to free people over there as well? They could have gone so much deeper into it, but they were just lazy.
It’s funny, the further you go down the chain of causality, the more you see… 🤷🏻♂️ It izzz what it izzzzz You think you’re breaking from the system, till you notice you’re fanning the system. It’s liberating to be aware of this position, but ultimately, back to square one.
kewl! if Jared weren't around, i dunno where i'd find my rote doses of reactionary takes on children's and YA entertainment. he's like a Quartering type beat, except he gets virtually no views. hope you're feelin great about standing up to the wokearoti! the GOP's where it's at, bro. a-whyt paur, amirite?
What do you think of Lana W. saying the Matrix is a trans allegory? She is the creator and can interpret as she wants, but just changing what the movie is about over 20 years later doesn't make sense to me.
I think your assertion that A.I. will not be capable of creating misguided, undisciplined or deranged art is wildly off the mark. During the time it will take to read this comment MidJourney will have spat out countless images equally as clumsy, awkward, disjointed, challenging, provocative, ugly, thought provoking, insane and incoherent as the visions depicted within 'Tetsuo: The Iron Man'. The only thing preventing such art making its way from A.I. to the sliver screen will be the human editors unwilling to risk publishing anything too challenging. I feel your ideas on the potential of A.I. is colored by the way you think of computer systems and how such computer intelligence have been depicted in media; clinical and robotic - A.I. is not that. What dictates how A.I. will be used in the making of movies will not be dictated by A.I.s inability to be wild and un-reasoned, but by the economics of the movie industry as it always has been.
The AI's idea isn't too bad. The 4th movie's plot is something I would have thought AI came up with
Maybe… kkkkkk
It did ....
There's a fourth movie ..?..
Finding out Jared is still making Philosophy videos has made me so happy.

The real question is who's fan fiction did the predictive text program plagiarize to "create" this pitch?
"What went right?" makes for a 5 to 15 minute video. "What went wrong?" Or "What could have been?" makes for endless food for thought
