I got both of my Beacon V1's for 75-80 dollars, finding the right size was the biggest hurdle for me though. Just have to be patient keep looking around every couple days, might be easier now though with the V2 out.

Glad to hear they are similar to the V1. I got over 70 miles now on my V1 and I'm loving them. I will say tho, it took me a good 30/40 miles to break them in and feel the plushness of fresh foam. And just in time as I've gotten past 310 miles on my 4% original version now!! LOL They're still solid for easy runs tho!
beacon2 for me felt loose at the heel this time not sure why I had to lace the last hole of the shoe once that was done I felt more locked in......thanks for the review

But as love Beacon 1 so much I already got myself a second pair in black for a ridiculous low price of EUR 28 (approx. USD 32) incl. tax and freight.

Have you put any significant miles on the v1? I'm wearing out the bottoms at the ball of my foot drastically faster than my other road shoes. Is it just me (first time in a lower drop shoe) or is that the tradeoff for the weight reduction of the foam? Also glad to know it's not just me gluing down the v1 insoles. I just did the second shoe yesterday! Your v1 review is how I found you initially.
I put 100 miles in my v1. I would have loved to have put more miles in them as I loved those shoes. But I don't always get to put as many miles on a shoe any more these days
I have been running, walking & jogging for over 50 years now & for years the only brand I will touch is New Balance...always a great range & also very importantly the NB width fittings...I have a very average looking width foot but for total comfort I need the 2E width.
Try them both on. Pick the one you like. They have different dynamics but both are cushioned for running. While I personally believe laced aren’t necessary in 2019, I generally find that shoes without laces are not really intended for running. (There are some exceptions)
I ran in these as prototypes and I had the exact same opinion the weird heal. I did end having problems with the insoles slipping out the back and the new heal didn’t help lol 😂
Just passed 400 miles on my first pair of Beacons v1 and decided to get a second pair over the version 2. Although I expect ill pick up the V2s later in the year 😂

i love flyknit, as it is very breathable, but it tends to hold on to moisture. vaporweave is very nice, reminds me of the zoomfly sp. i also really liked parley materials for summer
When I tried on the Beacon 2, I felt like my normal 10.5 was too big. So when I sized down to 10, I thought it felt better, with still enough room for my toes.
In my closet right now, I have red zoom streak 7, pink terra kiger 5, white ekiden vaporfly 4%, Vaporfly next, grey vaporfly v1, and yellow carbon rocket. I also have black Pegasus 36, black Boston 8, and black beacon 2.
@@kofuzi haha i remmber all those pairs. i just remember last video i seen form you was black peg 36 and then now black beacon 2. i just though the blue beacon was nice. i did pick up a pegasus 36 trail in the same colorway as the kiger 5, so unless you feel that the kiger is not good enough theres no reason to go peg-trail
As much I as like the Beacon 2....I can get another pair of Beacon v1 for half that price...think ill get another pair of v1 as its on sale. Only 170 miles in my current v1.

The upper of this is much better than the original. Otherwise the shoe is an exact replica.
Finding sizes is becoming difficult. Even then, discounts are not substantial in certain sizes

Great review always! How’s the water absorption level for the upper? Did the water slip in the shoes, your socks or your foot get very wet?
I mean, I ran through a lake, so there was a lot of water. But it's better in that regard than the v1

This looks like a landslide victory for the Beacon 2 over the Boston 8’s already...
Beacon 2 has and early and commanding lead, but Boston 8 is quietly making a strong case

Not a fan of the heel change, both from a style and function standpoint. I'm glad I bought extra V1s when I did.
It makes it feel more modern and look less Hoka-y. Otherwise, I get a very strong Hoka vibe from the rest of the upper.
