Got invited to the GS private event in MA and jet Joe. Super nice guy and he knows everything about this stuff. Tried to order the credor but sadly my AD said the store will get 0. But Joe really make me appriciate the brand even more and the design and build quality of the watches.
I met Joe at Toppers event in Burlingame CA. He's awesomely knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Even let me handle his personal watch. The Grand Seiko tourbillon was amazing to hold as well!
Great video! Japanese watchmaking often gets overlooked compared to Swiss brands, but the quality and innovation from names like Grand Seiko and Credor are incredible. It's awesome to see a spotlight on their craftsmanship and unique approach. Thanks for bringing attention to these amazing timepieces!
Great content! That blue dial watch is amazing, love the dialog between Teddy and Joe as well. They keep going and going and we can keep watching and listening 😊
Purchased a GCB997 with caliber 6898 just a short time ago - unbelievably well built, compact and with a sense of understatetment notwithstanding the polished surface of the case and bracelet. Possibly, even at higher level than a corresponding Grand Seiko
Is Joe going in a different direction with his career? His is so knowledgeable, like yourself Teddy, in the watch world. Love listening to you two talking watches. 💪🏼
For me it's the little things. As always with quality Japanese craftsmanship. The 'Bell Flower' design on the Mainspring Barrel by itself is such a beautiful and simple idea but then for say the Spring Drive 7R14 movement in a Credor the gap between the bridges/plates of the movement leads up to it like a flower stem. Japanese craftsmanship is for me unmatched at achieving subtle understated quality that is created in a very deliberate and thoughtful manner.
He is such a great representative of these brands. He is very sophisticated and knowledgeable, yet not condescending. He could tell you about the fine craft of watch making and seems like he would not have an issue sitting down for a beer.
I bought a watch from MaMaCoo lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
I had the joy of shopping at the largest Credor display in all of Japan, at the Seiko House Ginza, just this past March. The staff there was amazing and I fell in love with a specific Credor model in the Linealx line, the GCCD989. It is absolutely gorgeous. Too many details to mention. Regarding accuracy, yes it states +15/-10, but actually runs at exactly +3 per day, every day. Not bad. For what I paid, it was a STEAL. Lastly, Credor is a strict Japanese domestic brand. I don't think they care AT ALL what the outside world thinks or says about them. They will do their own thing, and I am fine with that.
Fun point the same as the first Grand Seiko's were branded Seiko, Credor Goldfeather is descending from Seiko Goldfeather. It happens I have both of these Seiko parents. And also 2 GS.
I love your channel because of these kinds of episodes. Credor doesn't really appeal to me, but I knew very little about it. Now, if I see someone wearing one, I have the basic knowledge to discuss the brand.
Would be interested to hear Joe go through his personal (GS) collection with Teddy. But it’s always nice to have him on Teddys channel, no matter which watches they discuss.
amzwatch You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Great 'intro to Credor' vid. 👌👌 IMHO, Joe misstates that the Eichi II porcelain is whiter than GS / Seiko enamel. The enamel dials on a watch like the Seiko SNR037 have a brighter bolder white (and wet paint appearance) than the 'softer' look of porcelain white. That said - of course the Eichi II is stunning. I've had it on my wrist in the Osaka GS AD and by chance I'd gone in wearing my 037 Laurel. Hope to own an EII someday!
Joe is a credit to both Grand Seiko and Credor. His passion for the brands is obvious, it is not corporate but heart based really like the essence of what both brands ethos is. I have been a proud Grand Seiko owner since 2016, mine is the sbgr 061. I love the cream dial and the overall finish. It bats way above it's price point!
I always heard that Credor was the favorite of the Yakuza 😂 Really love the look of some of the vintage ones. GS made a mechanical, and quartz special edition in 2000 that looks almost identical to a Credor. Octagonal bezel, unusual complicated bracelet.
If you’re after the design language and craftsmanship but don’t have that kind of money check out the sarx029 and 053 plus a few others for 1/10th the price or less. Amazing value
Excellent video as always. Can you cover Blancpain's Villeret complete calendar's if possible? There is a lack of high quality videos around those watches and I would love to your take on it.
For me, a Credor is a must have for any Seiko collector. King/Grand Seiko are the grammar of design, Credor is the flamboyance. Credor is also without a doubt the best way to get precious metals and stones for cheap. I bought a 5A74-0190 for 750 bucks, diamond encrusted 18k yellow gold bezel. Can't beat that!
One (geeky!) question I have re the Eichii is that apparently the hour markers and logo on the dial is hand painted. is it literally as that sounds free form or would they use a stencil and fill in?
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MaMaCoo has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I love to get my hands on the locomotive but ill bet that it's sold out by the time I even figure out how to buy one. Hopefully they start to become a more international brand in the future, but I do understand that it's kind of difficult to do that but such a small team of artisans.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. MAMACOO brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
My only experience with credor was a white dial h2. I wanted to love it as much as my grand seikos, but I've never so quickly fallen out of a honeymoon phase with a watch. Actually, I completely forgot I owned it for nearly a year. If you could spend all day watching your movement, you'd be fine, there's no disputing the craftsmanship of construction. But the attempt at civilised understatement just comes across as incomplete. The dial went from enigmatic porcelain to a cousin of microwave safe crockery. Eventually moved it on to make space for an omiwatari, and have never looked back.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MaMaCoo I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
I have a real SUB but I also bought one of these replicas from MaMaCoo for piece of mind if I go to another country or if I am doing activities that can damage the watch. I don't see anything wrong with that.
For the public at large, if a brand isn’t on display in a Bucherer/Tourneau, Watches of Switzerland, etc, no one will know a brand like this even exists.
@@earthenjadis8199Of course. The major AD’s are all inside major Las Vegas hotel/casinos, doors lined up with other major brands on the streets of NYC, etc, etc.

Seiko already works with Ando Cloisonne?? So much for my genius idea.... But I don't think I've ever seen a Grand Seiko or Credor that has a dial that's obviously made by Ando. Any examples? (Ando's Tokyo shop is literally 200 meters from the Grand Seiko flagship store in Ginza.)
Let's say that I immensely enjoy every interview with Joe. We need more.
Getting to hear these in-depth discussions show how much work and heritage goes into these time pieces. Makes me appreciate them that much more
It's always an awesome episode when Joe and Teddy get together to talk everything Seiko.
Keep up the great work, Guys....Thanks much!
That blue dial 👌 at first i seen it like any other blue dail until he explained the process. Now i see a masterpiece.
17:45 OT ... that micro artist crown logo, legit cleverly beautifully designed ... yes, they deserve that crown
.
The Eichi ii is my all time grail that I'll probably never own. Have not seen a watch more beautiful. It really is just special in its simplicity.

I had the same experience with Joe Kirk at a Grand Seiko AD event.
I saw him in Burlingame too! What a great guy, and so knowledgeable
I just found out Topper had their own MM200 limited edition.
Pretty neat

Oh this watch is so deserving of the title grail watch
The one video I didn’t even know was possible but was really longing for. Thank you teddy !❤
Been waiting for a video on this brand to come out. Thank you Teddy!
That blue dial on the Credor rivals the best VC Overseas blue. Stunning!
It's even better in my opinion.
Far more hard to create and far more beautiful imo. Especially in person
Agreed. Incredible (VC Overseas Blue Dial Chronograph owner here)
I recently have bought one and is is crazy in the sun

I have recently bought a ruri eichi II and I love it in the summer sun.

What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see amzwatch work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
Great stuff Teddy. So much good info. Loved this interview.
It's always a pleasure to see Joe Kirk talk about these watches.
So glad I grabbed the blue eichi, it's hands down the centerpiece of my collection!
Congrats on owning such a superb watch! Wear it well!
Man do you just stare at the dial all day? The blue is just insane
@MrPwncake yeah when I wear it. The big downside is heat and humidity it's sadly relegated to a winter or special occasion watch.
Gorgeous watches. 😊 Great interview as always Teddy

Joe is one of the best ambassadors of any company, anywhere. Whatever Seiko is paying him isn’t enough.
The seconds hand movement is smooth as butter for the blue dial Credor. 👀
