I did the Operation Christmas child this year, it's not an one on one sponsorship though! But I like the idea of sponsorship the same child and get to know her/him! Once I was brought to tears when she wrote in a letter to me and said, "My teacher's hold mother's day and give honor to all mothers but I don't have a mother. I remember my mother and I cried a lot. But then I thought even though I don't have a mother but I have you who look after me and so I am happy." I was so moved!

I'm sponsoring throught Compassion - found out about them the Sunday after Easter this year and have 3 - one older and 2 younger - all girls :-) I'm wanting to go on one of the trips to visit each. a friend has one she's sponsoring in Bolivia and one of mine is there so we may go together! Only negative part is that they don’t get to respond to the letters as often as I’d hope but of course mail is a tricky thing so far out of the country. So it teaches patience in that way. Any idea of which country/age/gender you would be interested in?
@@KeyCam I can imagine that the mail would be really slow. I would like to sponsor a little boy. As far as age, I would like a younger child just so I can watch them grow. I initially saw a picture for a 5 year old boy in Ghana that I was drawn to. Today I looked him up and he got sponsored. My heart broke but I am happy that at least he's getting sponsored. I probably should have waited to look at those adorable pictures until I was ready but I just wanted to look and sure enough I got drawn to one. But I am definitely doing it. I just wanted to look at videos like this and get some questions answered. But I know in my heart this is what I want to do. Do you mind if I keep in touch with you? I'd like to see how your journey goes with sponsoring and keep you posted on mine. I don't know anyone who is sponsoring a child so it's nice to find someone who is doing it and willing to share.

When I signed up to sponsor the little girl it was at a show, so it took forever to process and I had looked her up online and couldn't find her so I was like pleaseeeee don't tell me she was taken! How did you end up getting him? We can absolutely keep in touch! I'm soooo excited for your journey. What I'm thinking is that maybe someone else was looking at his information and it temporarily took him off the site. But when I saw him I immediately got busy filling out my sponsorship information. I prayed about it and everything and I am just so happy that I'm doing it now. I can't wait to get my first letter. I'm going to go on there and use that little template for the first letter and sent him a letter and a photo. I do have an Instagram account that I have not used. I forgot why I set it up. But I did find you on there. Hopefully you got the request.
