The struggle is real, weldone and good you introduce it earlier💕
Thank you💛💛
Hey!! What happened?? I would love to know... My Almost 18-month-old baby boy has exzema and I believe, I'm not sure, that he has A cow's Milk allergy.. I'm considering going the almond milk route.. along with supplementing his diet with more greens, etc.
I would Love to see how your son adjusted to the almond milk and how he's doing 3 years after the fact.
Ooh my I am glad you introduced the almond milk earlier, glad that everything turned out really well. I felt it when you said he was all red, having trouble breathing, my daughter had an allergy reaction before too. Enjoyed watching your video
I’m so glad too! I always tell people they gotta listen to those mommy instincts! LOL what was she allergic to??
Awww poor babe! No more dairy, Mama! There are so many more options! If you get bored with almond milk, mabye try coconut milk sometimes. I'd also suggest you buy organic almonds and make your own almond milk sometimes. Blend in some greens to give him some extra nutrients. I'm glad Cam is safe & well!
Oooo good ideas! I’ll try it out! I sneak greens into his smoothies hahaha he can’t tell at all😏
Hey my girl also has a dairy allergy and theres actually a dairy ladder to follow! starting with yogurt is definitely too much dairy at one time! on the dairy ladder you start out so slow for like a week on each step i would check it out!
I’ve never heard of that!! I’ll look it up.. thank you 💛
Infant formula such as EleCare and Neocate are complete nutritional-based medical formulas meaning you can consume it as the only source of nutrition and get all of the nutritional requirements. I’m prescribed them them for medical reasons...please be careful and NEVER substitute nutritional formula with a dairy free alternative hoping to get nutrition like you would from medical grade formula! I’m very glad that the woman in this video was very cautious when introducing other foods into her babies diet I Hope her baby is doing better now!
My baby just turned 1 n i tried mixing her normal sensive formula with whole milk n she drinks it well its just that i noticed tiny tiny bumps on her face n i been noticing it has to be from her drinking small amounts of whole milk nothing severe i just stopped giving her whole milk until we got to her dr appt n just giving her toddler formula until we c what pediatrician says
I swear I thought I responded to this when you sent it. Maybe my phone is tweaking? Did you find out anything at the dr appt??
oh my gosh that sounds so scary! I definitely would of panicked but it sounds like you handled it so well! I'm glad everything turned out okay!
It was horrible 😭😭😭 I’m glad too!!
When my son was on formula he drank about 5/6 bottles lol how many almond milk bottles do u offer? Breakfast and middle of the night wake ups? That’s what I do. And throughout the day with food he has coco water and diluted apple juice with food and snacks (he’s 1. ..12 months exactly)
My son is 5 months and has a milk allergy. Did u ever try again to introduce milk. I’m so scared my son isn’t going to outgrow it. He is also on Elecare. He tried alimentum and nutramigen and he was still having bleeding so I’m really hoping when we go back to the doctor in a few weeks his tests come back good. 😩
We drink Almond milk in our house too - the dark chocolate flavour by Silk is really good. I don’t know if its available in the states as I’m in Canada.
I’ve never had that flavor! Sounds delicious
Allergies are so scary! Glad you have a good plan and there are so many delicious options available these days!
I’m so glad too! Thank you for watching 💛💛
Sigh. We know the pain. Boogie is the entire reason I went vegan. We’ve been THROUGH IT.
I’m definitely eating healthier because of him! But idk if I can give up fish and meat 😭😭😭 he was allergic to those too??
Does he like water? My boys kind of went from breast milk to coconut milk for a minute to water. They have almond milk occasionally, but they're huge water drinkers, which was my goal because I struggle so much with drinking water! haha That's so scary that that happened! Nolan recently broke out in a huge eczema rash, like literally from head to toe. So we took out gluten and dairy and it's gotten much better and his belly bloat is gone. We eat mainly paleo because it's gluten and dairy free. My oldest has a restrictive diet because of his special needs, so we're all having to eat way more healthy! So while my kids don't have as severe reactions, they definitely have underlying health issues, so I totally understand about having to be so strict with food and checking labels and all that. He's such a cutie. It breaks my heart hearing he has had issues.
He loves water!!! But I don’t think he would ever accept it as an alternative to his milk LOL. Eczema is suuuchhhhh a struggle.. have you found things that help besides changing the diet? My son has had a bloated tummy a lot recently too so I’m wondering about gluten now hmmmm
@@KeyCam the redness and severity helped with diet change and applying coconut oil topically has helped also! Removing gluten could be worth a try! We found out my oldest has a wheat allergy, so I wouldn't be surprised if my youngest does too, especially since the bloat and eczema lessened.
My kids were very good with the transition. But I never gave the milk in a bottle. Anytime we gave them real milk it was in a soppy cup so I don’t think they compares them both. Scary when kids have allergies, sorry that it didn’t work out for you. Thanks for sharing and that’s great advice to have a plan B
That was smart to do milk in a sippy I wish I thought to do that
You’re doing awesome mama! 🥰
Thank you 🥰💛
Will you or have you try him again on dairy again?
I’m honestly so scared to try again. Since this video I found out that he has a slight allergy to almond milk as well so we’re now on oat milk. His allergist recommended staying away from regular milk for a while so maybe I’ll try by 3 years old. I don’t drink regular milk so I’m not in a total rush to try again anyway.
My oldest daughter has a milk protein allergy and it took us over a year to finally get an answer to what was wrong with her.
Wasn’t it such a relief to finally figure it out?! Ugh
Oh my gosh yes. Made things so much easier. @@KeyCam
Awww, glad you found something that works for your son. . I’m breastfeeding right now and I’m trying to stay away to dairy myself . . Every time i drink milk not only do i not feel well, i noticed my daughter is gassy + fussy 😩 so I’m trying to cut it out!
Yeahhh the same was happening for me, I don’t know why but milk started making me feel gross so I started only drinking almond milk. So weird!
I cold turkey switched from formula to whole milk and legit I don't think my daughter knows the difference.
Did your doctor recommend the almond milk? I mentioned switching from whole milk to a milk alternative for Madison because her stomach isn't handling the dairy well and she said we would have to do soy milk and that almond milk basically wasn't good enough.
Lucky that you could switch cold turkey!!! Hahaha. My doctor said there isn’t enough fat in the almond milk but I compensate for that with other foods. Soy can cause hormonal imbalances so I decided to stay away from that 😩🤦🏾♀️
I’m so sorry you experienced that! There’s nothing scarier to me than an allergy or a baby choking or not being able to breathe. I guess his milk protein allergy was pretty bad. That’s a struggle for you, I’m so sorry.
Yeah it really was bad. It’s scary to witness especially as someone who’s never had any allergies. 😩 thanks for watching! 💛💛💛
Allergies always have me freaked out, makes me so nervous when my son tries new things. 😩 Almond milk is good and so is coconut milk! Shockingly my son has absolutely no allergies and swapped to cow's milk very easily. Guess I got lucky 😂 that's so scary omg. You handled it so well mama!
Awe poor baby. I’m vegan & have a couple of vegan recipes on my channel. Does he have any other allergies?
Yeah, eggs and corn! 😩
😔 poor baby,
I knowwww ugh
My son has a sensitivity to dairy! I haven't tried to reintroduce it yet. :(
Be careful 😩😩😩 what is he having for milk??
You are doing a great job ❤️ New subscriber here from London
Thank you!!! Subbing back ❤️😘
We had to do the gradual transition to milk with Charlie too but it went pretty smooth I think.
About how long did it take??
Poor guy! I am glad you had the things you needed to treat his allergy!
Right?! Thank God!!
I love almond milk and butter. Glad he likes those. Those chobani yogurts are so good too. Allergies can be scary :/
That’s was so scary girl! My kids used to have allergies too, but not milk.
Ugh! I hate it when they have allergies. Any egg allergies in your house??
Key& Cam not anymore. I think my daughter used to have an egg allergy but grew out of it. That’s the good thing. They will sometimes grow right out of those allergies. She can eat pretty much anything she wants now! 😊
Anyone with an allergy should have an Epi pen.
