  • In 2009, Rafonzel Fazon was sharing at a church meeting in Hawaii about how her life was changed through Compassion's Child Sponsorship Program. She had no idea that her sponsor for 15 years, Australian Kathy Green, was sitting in the audience. This is the beautiful moment the two met for the very first time.
A life of poverty and substance abuse was the bleak future Rafonzel says she faced before child sponsorship changed her life. "Food wasn't abundant in our family and there were many times when we would wait for our father to come home to see if he had brought something for our dinner," she says. All too often, her father returned empty-handed.
Life changed for Rafonzel when she was five years old: an Australian named Kathy Green sponsored her through Compassion Australia. Sponsorship helped provide her family with food and covered Rafonzel's school fees. When she was accepted into Compassion's Leadership Development Program, she also had the chance to graduate from university with an honours degree in mass communication.
The meeting in Hawaii was an incredible experience for the two women. "We were all crying," says Rafonzel. "I was screaming and stomping my feet because I just couldn't believe she was there and actually heard me talk about the difference her sponsorship had made in my life."

Wow! That is very touching. Makes me realize just how important we could be in the life of a child. Very rewarding to sponsor children through Compassion.

I SO wish I could meet my five Compassion Kids... but I'm not able to travel to warm places (or many places at all) for health reasons. I can't wait for the day when I meet them in Heaven- and we can literally talk forever

God open doors for my foundation too . We have children that need sponsors but it's hard to find one as some people have been biased but the society . However if one would want to try it out . Kingly help .
There are 25 school going children and other not yet and still we have a child admitted in hospital with stoma prolapse awaiting surgery but but you know getting a sponsor is not easy and and alos we have some more 5 with cerebral palsy but with those God opened doors and we got them some wheelchairs. Kindly let me hope I can get some sponsors here too .

I pray God connects my foundation children with some sponsors who are willing to mother or father these children .
Because have seen children with sponsors getting their hope back as seen on social media Kindly consider us.
