It's always nice when a Mission Failure is more than just "Game over, try again?" There's the full defeat scene with the bomb going off, Wolf gloating, and then an upset debriefing from Pepper. Love it. Reminds me of Age of Empires 1 campaigns, where mission failure came with a little cheeky little blurb either mocking you, or spelling out how badly you did, and consequences for it.
This the proper Star Fox remake/sequel we deserve
Yeah Apart from being busier, because of the new characters who are already heroes, antiheroes, villains or antivillains, it is wonderful to hear about this magnificent saga again, and hopefully another game from another Great saga called Sly Cooper.

I was a little girl who grew up with Star Fox 64 and the original SF internet fandom... all way back when Puffy Wulf had the biggest fandom site. (I'm old now...) I loved the comics and I loved Katt and Fara so much.
I adore your version of Fara. I love her accent and how bad ass she is! You really captured her feisty personality. It's a dream come true to see her in a game! Thank you so much for that! Please, please don't kill her off in the storyline. ;_; I can't wait to see more of her and see how you handle Katt!

Loving the randomized conversations and, although Star Fox is no stranger to it, I love seeing what happens if you fail the mission. It's these seemingly small things that make such a massive difference. Phenomenal work. Even though I wasn't part of this level, seeing how far this project has gone and the star-power its gotten makes me so thankful to be a part of it.

I voiced the Invader wing pilot, this was cool to see! Especially awesome to be part of the debut episode of Jock Blaney! Awesome talent on this project across the board!
Very nice touch with the randomized conversations! I Also like that it seems the game doesn't hit you with a game over when you fail a mission. Not enough games do that.

I agree that Leon might look a little too "realistic" but the 3d moving eyes do make sense for fast paced air/space combat. Bizarre, yes, horrifying, well, I know this is only my opinion, but, Pigma looks more horrifying if you want my thoughts.
This isn't the first time a fangame got the official voice actors involved, but it's still amazing to hear. It's a lot like The Lecarde Chronicles 2 getting Alucard's voice actor.
Nice to see that the research ships aren't entirely sitting ducks with their point defense systems. I've seen enough escort missions where the escorted ships are just flying chunks of metal that are destroyed by a few stray hits with no way of fighting back.

I love it I love it I love it! I’m so incredibly proud of everyone involved and I’m especially proud of performing with the OG Wolf Jock Blaney!
Here, here! I still find it so surreal to have Jock with us, let alone flying alongside him!
That's a great mission we have here.
- A good thing you add random conversations. That keep us, players, on our guard just to get hidden gems/banter/lore. I just hope you will not spoil us every conversation possible.
- The environment is good. A while ago, in another video, I wasn't sure about the ground of a mission "defending the Great Fox" over Sauria. Here, it make sense and the snowstorm add some blur that balanced perfectly with the mission.
Then, there is Star Wolf :
- No surprise on Wolf, a few of his voicelined were already reveal with Jock Blaney.
- Leon : I must admit it, before seeing him, I had no idea how he should be "rework" for Event Horizon. Your present design made sense, mainly the moving eyes for 3D awareness in the dogfight. A little disappointed with the voice because I discover Star Fox with Assault and his voice there is totally different, but you do you, it's not a deal breaker for me.
- Pigma : Good face, he seems more threatening than the regular round fat-swine face we got in Assault or in Zero. Really good voice by the way.
- Andrew : Good face and voice. Look a lot like in Assault and I get the vibe of the annoying wannabe conqueror man-child.
- Oda : The new girl in town is really good. I got the "outback marauder" vibe with her voiceline. Good idea with the face-mask design, that add a little part of "cultural", dare I say, difference compare to the others characters more futuristic piece of cloth.
One thing I hope is about a particularity on Zero : If I remember correctly, the Star Wolf team show more and more cybernetic parts with each defeat, proof of wounds received. I hoped it isn't in place in Event Horizon. I'm ok with a scar or maybe a sticking plaster here and there, but I don't know why, I don't like half-cyborg in this case.

The game is based mostly on star fox 64. The nasally chain smoker voice in assult was unique to that game and frankly was a very strange way to take the character, at least voice acting wise. In the view point that the actor and Ice Cream Man were going for a more iconic take on the character, the voice work is a fine adaptation at best, nothing to get disappointed on.
Personally, Pigma's voice is too deep and threatening. Pigma can be a intense, intimidating character, but the sleaziness of the character was butchered by the actor. Not horrible, but not what Pigma should be
It wasn't just in Zero, both in the OG and 64 versions, the rematch on Venom had different art with them having more cybernetic advancement to Star Wolf, with more robotic or augmented faces. I'm a bit unsure about the games that are technically meant to take place after the Star Fox eternal time loop however and the appearances of Wolf and Co who survived.
A really good mission, the VA was amazing, the randomised conversations at the start is a really cool touch and the failing the mission bit at the end was something i was not expecting. Also Jock Blaney reprising his role as Wolf is incredible! The more and more I watch these videos on the game's development progress, the more and more it makes me so hyped!
Damn, that alternate ending sounds like a Game Over AAR. Never heard the General sound so pissed.

This was honestly one of my favorite missions to do.
The voice cast sounds very impressive, Farah's my personal favorite out of all of them. You're doing a good job with this project, from a Freespace 1/2 fan.
I like Falco being excited to visit a super ice world.

The random conversations at the beginning are a nice interesting touch you put in. My favorite is when Slippy asking about the big game on TV and Falco scolded him for talking about sports during a mission. Also I have never hear General Pepper being disappointed in Star Fox before for failing a mission. He ordered them to stay behind on Fichina leaving out of Katina mission. I'm also curious about the new member of Star Wolf, Oda. I originally thought that Panther Caruso would be the fifth member to rival Fara, but then I remember that Panther targets Krystal back in Star Fox Assault. Whoever this Oda is, she is one interesting character. I wonder if she's from Titania.
Well the Jackals are from Titania and she is one, so likely possible.
@@klein4029 Well canonically speaking, there are no jackals in the Star Fox universe. But since this is a fan game, I'm not complaining. Maybe Nintendo will decide to include them in a future game, comic, or even a tv show.

@@JeroAstra Interesting. To think that planet is supposed to be uninhabitable. I'm sure there's an explanation on how the jackals ended up there. This will make an interesting lore. If I'm not mistaken, the jackals were not in official games or comics, which makes Oda and her race created just for New Horizons.
I find it funny how beating star wolf somehow helps the scientist diffuse the bomb right after :P

I have to admit i knew nothing about star fox and i was mostly following you for hyrule total war/hyrule conquest, but ive watched every single star fox video and i think youve made me into a star fox fan xD

Hearing General Pepper be disappointed and upset with Star Fox team is nice for a change. I know it's odd to say, but it does give the player some sense of warning that not succeeding in each mission any further could result a bad ending or somewhat of a "Meh" ending where after the war is won, the player is probably given nothing special other than a low pay check on performance.
Certainly shows a way of displaying the consequences of battle. Whether if a mission is in success or failure

Its insane how you got Wolf's original voice! It's amazing!
And the Fichina battle with the timer and the pressure of finishing the level makes it an intense fight.
And I was surprised this has the randomized dialogues, that gives more life to the mission.
Also, I find quite interesting the little mentions of dialogue involvinf Fara and Wolf, along that the crashed ship maybe is the Cerinian one.

I’m guessing that failing the mission here will funnel players down the Sector X path much like the original game? If that’s so, then that is a good punishment to players for poor performance.
Also, I really love the new face model and voice for Oda. Given she’s Titanian, I’m guessing she’s forced to wear her mask due to the conditions of her home planet.
I like how the show andross is more relatable and tragic. As well as showing pepper has a bad side. Like how he threatens starfox when he fails the mission to stop the bomb. That’s why this author is great because it’s not all one sided like in typical games.
Love the randomize conversation, it's a nice touch. Add variety for multiple playthroughs and personality to the crew.
Even just *watching* these clips makes my heart pump with the action going on!

Beyond the ZOMG STAR WOLF APPARANCE!!!! which is necessary (albeit VERY Early on in the Game Surprisingly) the StarWolf appearance and first battle probably exists as an 'overshadow' to the Ancients Tech and the 'Original Generation Stuff' -Nephy- IceCreamMan will be going into Post-Aparoids and we'll be seeing More of in the Adventures Segment.
Just as a heads up, "defuse" is spelled "diffuse" at 14:16, and then as "defused" at 19:06. Hope I'm not coming off at nitpicky or anything, just wanted to let you guys know!

Extremely amazingly mighty well done with this part, Had a feeling this was next, and also Extremely nice touch with the Conversations, adds style to the game. And also i can really see the improvements on this. Voices actors spot on, also that ship, I can't help but recognize it from somewhere. Though here he is, the Legendary Jock Blaney Just as amazing as before. not lost his touch at all, And also Winning the battle and saving the lab, Though you also showed the Bad Ending part. Though no doubt the next mission will be after saving the lab, I look forward to the next mission. Continue doing amazing

Imagine if ROB got a better deal elsewhere and just left the Starfox team on this ball of ice lol. Also it is so awesome to hear Jock Blaney's voice again!

I used to lose everyone on this blasted planet on the N64. It's great to see the take you've gone for on Fichina. Despite the difficulty I had as a kid it's my favorite level still. Can't wait to play it again! Best of Luck to you and the Star Fox Team!

8:22 ngl i do like how you differentiate the venom pilots and soldiers, with the mandalorian style helmets being for the ground troops and the stormtrooper-like helmets for pilots....unless they're specifically for invader fighters and the mando style helmet is for grunt pilots

I like what you've done with this mission and especially the Star Wolf team and the battle, it feels like the pressure for shooting them all down in time is heavier than in the original N64 game, but not so much that it is very hard to do, an overall good balance from my observation.
Losing however seems like a total mission failure, is this the case, or still an optional outcome? o:

I don't like the fleet stealing my kills and the modded game looks most fun when having long challenging dog fights and not boss fights or shooting large buildings.

Looking excellent as ever. Hard to believe this is an amateur fangame at this point, given the obvious talent involved, and it's still wild to see the Freespace engine doing planetary battles. The only gripes I have are tiny UI-based ones. I'd love an option to shrink the radio/comms box to about half its size (it's great for video, but perhaps a bit chunky for gameplay now everything's voiced), and are there any plans to remove any of the stock Freespace fluff from the bottom-left UI window?
Here's hoping you can keep this project on the (relative) down-low until a full release. Don't want the Big N casting their baleful glare on a project this impressive.

Im so far behind when it comes to console gaming that Adventures is the newest game i finished in the Star Fox franchise. Giving the dummies like me a chance to see all the varied outcomes is a nice way if ensuring nobody is left out, so to speak, hehe

I can't get over how out-of-place Wolf looks in this. Everyone else looks like a stylized cartoonish animal-person but Wolf looks like a realistic wolf head on a human's body. Otherwise this mod is shaping up to be pretty damn impressive
I think his model is supposed to be based on his Star Fox 2 sprite, but that’s just my theory. He does look more realistically furry than in Star Fox 64.

He probably already knows. About 17 years before the events of Assault, a single Aparoid destroyed an entire fleet.

Are there going to be any visual options for the HUD? Some of the info boxes are nigh-impossible to read with Fichina's background and sky color. It would be nice if we could put a slight gray background to darken the area behind the lettering enough to be able to read them easily. I kept glancing over to check stuff like ammo count (to see how quickly you go through missiles in a level like this, for instance) or the objective list at the top, and often couldn't read a thing at all.
