I could listen to my fellow Missourians, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace talk all day long. Whether it's NASCAR, Dirt Racing, or life advice. Whenever that they are together, it's a treat. Love those two!

I (Bill) remember Kenny S driving a sprint car for Ray Marler, who was friends with my parents at St Francois county speedway in the very early 80s. He was fast then, and is today. My #1 racing hero!

My memory of Kenny Wallace was at Lucas Oil Stadium in Clemons Indiana. He was running in the Busch series. It was early in the race and they were coming into the pits. My friend and I have scanners and headsets. As they were coming into the pits, we heard Kenny Wallace say “Here come the nascar stars” we will never forget. I would love to have the money to keep these two or other retired racers. Keep the videos coming. Thanks for the memory’s.

I'm wondering who thought it was a good idea to sit Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace down for an extended chat with only one microphone.

Met kenny wallace and his wife kim in cesars palace around 2003 and he was on phone pitching to a prospective sponsor and his wife said give him a minute he'd love to talk to you. My wife and kim got to talking about shopping and then my wife saw the rock hanging on kims finger and then it was jewellery shopping. Kenny finished his call said sorry to make ya waiy I'm kenny. I said no sir i didn't want to bug ya but your wife told us to wait and now i think i have to take my wife shopping for rings thsnk you very much we both laughed they spent 25 minutes shooting the sgit with us and very little about racing just life in general they were great. He signed a very nice note to my father in law for me and we parted ways. Ran into them the following day and they called us by name just to see how our night had been. Two of thee nicest folks on the planet.

It's true! 4 wins isn't nearly enough for Kenny Schrader. The dude was killer in Cup but unfortunately plagued with a lot of bad luck. He had a resurgence in that 36 car!

Kenny Schrader and Rusty Wallace raced at Lake Hill Speedway in Valley Park Mo. Now I mean be incorrect but they both raced their first race there. Both their fathers raced at Lake Hill and my father as well. Kenny's dad run car No. 99 and Rusty's dad run No. 6. Kenny's first car No. when he started racing Lake Hill was 100 and Rusty's was 66. Also besides my father of course Larry Phillips was my fav driver drove car No. 75. To name some of the other drivers that raced Lake Hill besides Russ Wallace, Bill Schrader and their sons Kenny and Rusty was Jerry Sifford, Harold and Don Workman, Bob Estes, Paul McKenny, don't remember his first name a man by the sirname Lawson, Larry Phillips, and many more I forgot their names. A lot of these drivers raced at Rolla Speedway in Rolla Missouri.

Around the 13:00 minute mark, Schrader's talking about how a young driver can start out. All that simulator talk is fine but Ken's parents had a much better idea all those years ago. Tie your kid's little lawnmower-powered car to a tree and let him go around and around and around until either the car runs out of gas or the rope breaks and the kid takes off across the yard! Mom has a heart attack but everybody else thinks it's the funniest thing they've ever seen... and the kid's giggling and calling out "Daddy, do it again, do it again!!!"

I twice deleted a long, post about the feelings I have about nascar drivers, teams, owners, and sponsors. Nascar is no longer worth the time it takes to type out how you feel about the business of nascar. I don't care if it's dirt or blacktop ... support your local track. Go watch a few races, help raise money to update the track or raise the purse so maybe the familys of the top three drivers can eat this week.

  • @RustyWells2

If I was head of Nascar I would put a couple of dirt track races on the schedule hell when I first started watching Nascar they had some dirt track races on the schedule and the bush series had some not that many years ago! I know one thing they better do something quick or Nascar is going to shrink back to the size they were in the 60s.

      Tom Smith
NASCAR Cup series needs to add two dirt oval races and two dirt “road courses”
But they’d probably spoil them as it appears spoiling competitive racing is their current agenda.

@@fishhuntadventure One item that would change a lot of opinions... stop this "Stage Racing" in NASCAR!! Drop the Green Flag... everybody starts; Drop the Checkered Flag... the first car past it wins! PERIOD!!! Trying to make NASCAR more entertaining, is killing NASCAR.

No your wrong us 45 to 50 year olds are still here we just got tired of being screw out of are money by the hotels the restaurants and every other business that would double their damn fees when we would come to town so we finally started saying fuck it and took our money and spent it elsewhere until NASCAR figures that out they won't be seeing us old fucks back.

NASCAR has forgotten its roots ... It's all about corporations and kissing their asses .. Well that works for little while . But the fans know better. NASCAR thought it would emulate football . The way they did the points in the way they promoted the races . Will now the fans can see it for what it is . And they know how to make you pay they just don't show up . But the dirt tracks thrive . Because they listen to their fans . This week we had Coliseum racing how stupid can that be . A bicycle track and they want to race cars on it . Doesn't showcase driver's ability at all . No NASCAR still doesn't get it but they will ..........................................
