As the iPhone 6 launch approaches I have started ordering parts to fix my iPhone 5 so it may live out the rest if it's days as an iPod/AppleTV remote. This is very helpful. I am a machinist and can't wait to get a closer look at the milling on the aluminum case. Your tutorials are the best. Thanks for the excellent camera work.

If you want to repair the lock button, do you have to take it all apart or can you just go straight to the lock button medal plate and remove it?
You can try taking it back to apple for warranty repair or replace the faulty part in this case the lock/(on/off) button assembly.
Thanks f

Hi, my iphone doesn't respond when I press it, other than that everythings works ok. Right do I replace the power button or the flex cable?
Thanks you

Sick
How can I power the phone off before replacing the power button if my power button doesn't work?
You must enable "Assistive Touch" in your Settings before doing it.
Settings>General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch.
Thank you Erick, unfortunately there's no option to "Power Off" the device via Assistive Touch (iPhone 5)
Oh great, I found it: add "Lock Screen" to the Assistive Touch menu and then hold it for a few seconds, then the slider appears!
are all the screws that same?
No they are different. We recommend using a screwmat. Here is the link: www.directfix.com/product/SCR-11.html

The only way to fix it is replace the part sorry.
