To have that agility, at that size, with that speed, those hands and above all determination. Hands down he is my favorite fullback/running back of all time. Did I mention he's a nice guy as well- Always giving to the community. That's what hometown heroes are made of!!🌹🏈❤️
Can you believe they won't put him in the hall of fame ?? Comparing his total yards to a halfback. Listen EDDIE HE DOMINATED @ A POSITION THATS ALL BUT EXTINCT. ONLY TO BLOCK FROM TIME TO TIME. EVERYONE KNEW ALSTOTT WOULD GET THE BALL BUT THEY HAD TO WRAP HIM UP OR ELSE HES GONNA RUN OVER U
Geez. Let’s be real. Was Alstott really a full back? He hardly ever lined up at fullback. He was usually the last man in the I or a single back. He had O Neal in front of him or he was a change of pace from warrick Dunn. He was THE feature back at Purdue. He wasn’t just a short yardage dude, he was fast and had some wiggle to him. Dude was hardly ever a lead blocker, he was too valuable to blast holes open for someone else. Alstott was just a big half back. There, i said it.
I really liked Alstott, Csonka, Bettis, Harris, etc. But to not include Earl Campbell or Jim Brown??? C'mon man, did somebody bump their head?? HARD??? Brown didn't always smash over people, but he'd do it when he had to. He ran like a deer. He was kinda like a much bigger Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers, etc. Nobody EVER played harder smash mouth Fullback than Earl Campbell did, and I mean NOBODY!! He was also probably the fastest open field running fullback ever, with possible exception of Herschel Walker.......
Brown was a pure running back, not a full back, that is why he is being excluded, a lot of those guys you mentioned where also fell into running back category, thing is the main job of a fullback is to block, now if we are talking about running backs yeah all those guys are in the conversation.
He was special. You had to see him live to fully appreciate him.

He need to be in the Hall, no question about it. This man was a fullback running like this. Beast mode before there was a beast mode
If their is any player you want to be...it is this man.
You sometimes forget how nifty a runner he was on top of just being a power back.
Would love to have seen Ronnie Lott, Jack Tatum, Sean Taylor TRY and tackle the Juggernaut! Train🚞🚂
Mike Alstott for the Hall of Fame! #ALSTOTTHOF
Immortalized and beautiful 'olympic' effort every event.
It is like a sermon on "faith"

This man invented stats
This was football
I miss these full backs in the NFL who ran like tanks.....
I think every fan of the game wishes Alstott was on their roster.

He was a great FB, but not greater than Larry Csonka or John Riggins.
Exceptional balance. Was a LOAD!!!
Ironhead Hayward had some cool rand so did Jerome beddis but I liked Mike alstott better
It’s not your fault espn and nfl network make all their highlights slow mo but I hate slow mo highlights with a deep burning passion.

@canton7180 Brown was a Fullback. He was NEVER listed as a Halfback.
@@milojanis4901 He was the feature back and this is more for the fullbacks.
