    Whenever I want rice pudding I always come back to this recipe.
    It’s awesome and I would say I’m a bit better than average at cooking for a 12 year old ( I managed to make Macarons)
    I think my mum makes the best rice pudding but she can’t always be bothered so I make it myself
    Easy and delicious

    To kick it up a notch at the end, add a tablespoon of unsalted butter and stir to incorporate. This will cool the mixture enough to mix in an egg yolk. The end result is a richer rice pudding.

    I just came back here to thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I watched your video earlier today and decided to try this for dessert as rice pudding is a particular favorite of my husband’s. We only ever use half percent milk so I added about a tsp. of light butter to the mixture. I cooked it to the degree of creaminess we preferred and stirred frequently. It was fantastic, creamy, not too sweet and a lovely vanilla flavor. This is a keeper. Thanks so much! 🌺🌺🌺

    This was the first time I ever tried to make rice pudding. So,... i doubled the recipe. Only had 2% milk, no heavy cream;... but i did have some vanilla-cinnamon coffee creamer and added it accordingly.... it took a little longer but in the end, it turned out to be very good!... and definitely simple!... Thanks!

    Thank you so much for the directive. I don't think I used the exact amounts you asked for, but I was close. I tried to follow the ratio you were giving here by looks. I did half a cup of rice and about 1 cup of milk and probably a little bit more to reach the height it needed to be over the rice. The thing I did add was one egg beat into the milk with a tad water added. Not sure why I wanted the egg. I feel like the egg is part of the traditional recipes, so I figured it wouldn't hurt and it still came out rich creamy and tasty. Thank you so much. I think after watching this and making it again myself, I probably won't forget now. I hope not anyhow! ^^

    This may sound stupid but can you use brown rice instead and replace sugar with honey or evaporated milk?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  5 лет назад +1

      Not a stupid question at all. :) Sure you can use brown rice for rice pudding. And yes honey or evaporated milk should work great. I haven't tried it specifically but have seen other recipes out there that use brown rice. :) The times might vary a little bit. But it should work out great. Let me know how it goes! :)

      Make sure you have the stovetop on medium heat. I am pretty sure you just need to give it more time. Eventually it will get thicker.
