My apologies, scadutree levels still only go to +20. That's the max. But if you didn't get that in one playthrough, you can still get more upgrades in ng+ and max out.
It's not just lack of scadutree levels people also need to explore and find better weapons armor and talismans. I just found a talisman that makes my twohanding do more damage by a lot .I got +3 crimson amber talisman I be a lot of complainers have not even found that. I just got a new hammer to use with my new two hander talisman. New armor that gives great protection well being lighter then bull goat armor. COME ON PEOPLE do better
@user-eb1zv6sr9e You're not wrong. For my build, Rellana talisman gives me +240 AR, temporarily, yes, but still strong.

After a couple hours in the game: You know the Runebears and the Royal Revenants weren't THAT bad after all.
Some of the easiest enemies in the game
There's a runebear miniboss in the world that puts those runecubs in the main game to shame

They should just make larval tears unlimited but from shop like 10k runes each or something. People just like to try different builds.
At night time they are all over the map to find, but yeah buying them would be cool
Same with max stones, I'd pay 1 million runes for them since I have so many weapons

With the blocked spirit springs you can unblock them by using mohgs or morgots shackle without finding the stone stack.
I didn't think of that, since the item has a hit box with massive range, I bet it hits the rocks.

@@ExileTwilight I think it is pretty harmless. The shackles also activate the fire-spewing pillars and reveal illusion walls. They have not been touched yet.

I doubt the blessings stack beyond 20. You'll either keep the 20 without it increasing anything more or you'll have to reget them. If I'm wrong, that's interesting. But I will need to see proof.
Yes max Scadu blessing is 20, and max revered ashes is 10. Getting more does not stack they just sit in your inventory like golden seeds/sacred tears when maxed
This is a huge misspeak on the part of this video if that's true cause he's making it sounds like you can get 20 each playthrough...I need to know before I start a fresh playthrough

You would start the expansion 20 already instead of building up to 20 throughout. He was definitely a little bit off making it seem like by new game plus you could have 40.
Im sure it works the same way flask upgrades do. You can pick up more golden seeds, sure. But you cant use them
you should actually explore more at night. there are more larvel tears to find at more glowing spots.
I went in on NG+1. I get sad when I hit something for nearly 2K damage and they shrug it off like a bee sting and then 2 shot me with my 1.9K health.

Im also on NG+ , I like to cap at level 150. It's hard but I'm enjoying it a lot. I still find I'm powerful against basic enemies. Probably I'm going to struggle with bosses though. Only done one and I was dying very quickly before I beat it

I’m in NG+1 and I’m ready curious how much harder it is than base game! Remember, in NG+, you would theoretically already have a full set of tears. So we’re double behind!
Is the dlc that hard on ng+. I have no choice because I'm not playing the base game all over again. It took me 400 hours to do and collect everything.

@@ImKiingg It just makes the enemies have more health and deal more dmg basically, up to ng+7 where it caps at double the original games stats. going further than that wont do anything
@@ImKiingg I can hold my own but in NG+7 the gear and levels can only get you so far because nearly every trash mob can 2-3 shot you and every boss can 1 shot you and this is amplified by the dlc difficulty spike. This makes it very difficult

10:38 there are mausoleum coffins throughout the Shadow Realm to duplicate remembrance in the DLC. Instead of being a giant walking mausoleum… it’s just the little coffin with the shape of a person on top sitting out in the open. I know there are a handful but the one that I found was behind the building we meet Ymir in (Cathedral of Manus Metyr). I used all my mausoleum in base game so I’m glad they added addition ones in the dlc.
Worth noting that all(or most, at least) can be duplicated at the minor mausoleums (the ones without bells) in the base game as well.
Bloodloss build, uchigatana on both hands, bloodhound step, mimic, and Bloodflame incantation helped me get through a lot of bosses. Also anything that inflicts rot or Death was helpful. You can make this game as hard as you want or as easy as you want. I got a life to live so I made it easy
I jumped into the DLC found the backhand daggers infused them with frost and its been awesome.

I went in at level 713 in NG+ 20. I am having so much fun with how challenging it is.
Well, the ng+ difficulty caps at seven, so it isn't harder at ng+ 20.

You can use a shackle to unlock the spirt springs instead of looking for the rocks
I never started a new game plus run through and i stop playing about a year ago with my character level at 250. Im playing the dlc and still wrecking everything with ease lol. Int/Bleed build.

You can also duplicate remembrances in the DLC itself. I found 2 "duplication coffins" (maybe there's more), but they are in open space, so you really need to look for them.
No problems on my end ng+5 and doing fine . Just that golden hippo in the castel was a pain
Yeah I'm also at ng+5 with my level being 411, it's a good time but that final boss of the dlc's story is just insane. So I'm going to have to go back and collect those fragments to get the max amount for level 20.

@xRedMan26 exactly why I've absolutely no shame in using the mimic tear because I actually like actively fighting and not dodging all the time for just one hit every ten seconds.
There are a lot of larval tears in the DLC. I don't remember all the places, but if you go around at night time there are a bunch of spirit tombstones that surround a larval tear. I've found three so far like that.

What if you have already used the mausoleums in the original game? You imply you can use them again for new boss rememberances?
3:21 You can get another fragment from a shadow enemy carrying a glistening Hefty Pot, on the broken bridge with the Gravebirds.
There’s an enemy not too far from the first site of grace, a little northwest, carrying a pot.
Killing it will grant you another Scadutree fragment.
When you get to the DLC, you will know if you are ready if you can beat the guy with the ring blades as soon as you walk out of the cave. I think that was the test . If you are lvl 100 that guy is going to take 5 mins to beat or 1 hit you. 😂
Ive gotten a few larval tears from those moonlight spots around the whole map at night

Im playing the DLC with the dragonslayer great katana, is a very good weapon in my opinion, the ash of war is amazing and the fact that deals extra damage to dragons is OP, and is a quality weapon so i switched my build to use It, and still i think for now is the best wanna see how it gonna be' against messmer

I am still playing my base game and yet to play NG+, so basically I can get everything. I resisted my temptation to move to NG+ and it worked ❤❤❤
I'm started in NG+ and haven't had any problems cause I'm level 220 which definitely makes it alot easier
The scaudtree fragments make your level almost irrelevant. The % increase to damage reduction and damage you deal from those fragments does more than your level could do.

I'm 217 on my original save never ng+. I'm getting clapped by the bore guy, the hand boss, basically every boss. I'm not even getting close on them though. It's not fun when you do nothing damage so it's a marathon fight. I hate that. I wish leveling up still mattered like the original game ia as much on top of the fragments. If I got to level 300 I still wouldn't do any more damage in SOTE. I don't feel my character getting any stronger.
They need to stop nerfiing us and boosting the enemies.
there are also more scadutree, when you see the ghostly guys carrying a pot above their heads will drop one the first time you kill them.

I'm pretty sure you can farm Scadutree and Revered Ash drops. I went over to the Ruins of Rauh before clearing the shadowkeep, and it turns out that they're a rare drop from the shadow enemies there. Put on the silver scarab, take out Wave of Gold or any of your favorite farming ashes/spells, and just keep steamrolling the massive piles of shadow guys in the ruins. They die instantly and Rauh is full of long straight hallways, so just go to town and grind away the DLC difficulty spike until it's comfortable for you.
Lmao I literally just ended my session after I've spent nearly all day in rhua searching it's various temples just spent two hours on the fire dude til I'd done it so much I just jumped over all his attacks on foot 😂

@@FelisImpurrator haha dude I got so angry with his cheese. One was he had one foot on the cliff the other hovering about 10 feet above the stairs I'm on ground floor level. Dark souls rule is if eyeline breaks it doesn't connect..nope he got me with a firestomp from both above and without his foot even being on the ground
@@WhatwouldRoddyPiperdoThe guy literally planted his foot on 800k runes and then instakilled me with a fire rain. There was nothing I could do even with the fire greatshield and a physick specced for DR and the emergency heal.
Every hour in this DLC something decides to be BS enough to kill me twice and reset my runes down from 600-800k. Wild. It's like they intentionally put a golem or a curseblade in at the hour mark for this reason.
@@FelisImpurrator I honestly learned to stop giving a shit about runes but I'm level 379 with 99 DEX 😂 but I feel you on e I legitimately avoided going into places because I'd amassed close to 1.5mil just so I could put two pounds mts in fp just to say I did 😂 the difficulty spike is very obvious on the lead up to shadow and everywhere after
I just finished the dlc in regular NG and I’m 30 minutes into a NG+ run and holy crap I’m glad I didn’t start in ng+ lol
I went into DLC with my NG+9 Char, it honestly feels really fucking hard, but I have been enjoying the challenge so far. Its honestly better than having to go through the pain of collecting all weapons and upgrading them etc. let alone leveling my character..

Im NG+3 and im having a blast. Its harder but im glad it is. Woulda been pissed if it was easy.
My reccomendation is stop using mimic tear (if you are) use different summons. I swear they made the mimic tear not draw agro
The guy in the mauseoleum took me like 3 hours to beat.. was insane
HUGE PERSONAL TIP
Against the Pyre Giants. They stay prone for a LONG time. I got stuck and had to run from his feet to his head and I was still able to get 2 light attacks and pulled a crit.
Do you know if skipping Rellana and going the back way breaks any nov side quests? I discovered the long way on accident.

For anyone who doesn’t know, there’s a free “Mausoleum” remembrance duplication around the Cathedral of Manus Metyr
There's another one that I found at the Finger ruins of Rhia. Should be able to find it if you head straight from the site of grace
They should make that if you played on ng+ before the uptade and went into the dlc for the first time it should count as the first journey so if you finish the game on ng+1 you would finish dlc on journey 1 and when you start ng+2 you would be in ng+1 on dlc...
Can you beat the dlc and ng+ just the dlc ? Bc im pretty sure ive cut myself out of side quests killing the kind friends… Or do i have to do the base games ng+ and get to the dlc again 😅
Yep, can confirm. I went in with new game +3 @ level 382 with the best armor, spells and blasphemous blade maxed out and got my ass hand to me . Went back in with a different character @ 157 that I was using to experiment with did sword and board and am having a much better time of it……still difficult at times but doable.

I was forced to start a new game plus because I missed one of the achievement (missed the Gransax weapon). The DLC is definitely kicking my ass but im slowly making progress.
I had a feeling that difficulty spike was way to steep to be intentional, but it's too late to turn back now.
Its Intentional because you are suppost to explore and find the fragments making yourself stronger you can fight divine beast at just +5 easily
Final boss is a nightmare on NG 6 because it takes 70% of my hp with 80 vigor
Sadly I do not have a save file from NG, but I had from NG+ and started there 😢
I think if you have already NG+ the fragments should buff you equal to the NG +.
you dont need to time guard counters, just hold the guard button and heavy attack to counter

Well started the dlc at ng+. But only ng 1. So the power difference isn’t really anything close to big. Plus even with fragments, bit over leveled kinda

i play dlc on ng+6 with 150rl character its my main pvp char that i have all items and stuff expect all new dlc stuff challange is insane but its very fun. although i will make a new char after to play dlc content with no ng+ and no level restrictions
I was actually doing fine until the final boss. I went through the entire dlc with my ultra great sword build, beat all the bosses up to the final. Including optionals. I can’t beat the final boss. I’m going to have to use a different build to do so because the ugs is just not mobile enough. And I really wanted to finish the dlc as Guts the godslayer…
The first tip: do scadutree frags not reset upon ng+ it wouldn't make sense that you keep your last ng level of scadutree frags.
They do stay so go ahead and ng+

I’m on a new game plus playthrough and I feel just fine with 4 scadutree fragments. It’s really not that big of a deal. I just had to wear better armor and take off a scorpion charm. Bosses are supposed to be hard in souls games.
I went in with New Game+1 for a challenge.
The blessings are percentage based. You do not get more value out of them in NG+

I accidentally made the mistake of killing one of the foragers it was on 1 hit from death and those thing gave me ptsd and i attacked it on instinct
On NG+3 and so far it's a bit more difficult that the base game (which was already the easiest Fromsoft Soulsborne) but nothing major. DS3 was my favorite Soulsborne, but I think this dlc might have put Elden Ring on top.
I'm ng+3 and it's not too bad, early game was hard for sure, I accidentally fought relanna first and died probably 30 times. Her twin swords are so fun to use though.
they're garbage, all the enemies attack way too fast for those slow and weak attack skills, you're dead before you can even finish

Re-upload with proper facts because the max for the upgrades is 20 and doesn't increase. The enemies don't scale with ng+ cycles because it is completely separate from the basegame
the “missing cycles of upgrades” in ng+ runs is bs. if u go into ng+ u wont keep ur scadurtree upgrades from ur previous runs and u will have to upgrade them again
Scadu fragment do not stack past 20 so if ya get more in next game they store themselves you cant get higher than scadue level 20.

I'm on NG7 and I'm not struggling as much as most people but I'm kinda disappointed at the lack of content. Areas as so barren compared to elden ring.
Caves and catacombs are super rare and I havent found one with a boss yet, just path ways to different areas

NG+3 here and honestly dissatisfied how easy this dlc was, old hunters still the best dlc imo
Just because you’re at ng+7 doesn’t mean you’d be at 140 scadu if you had done the dlc 7 times. It cuts off at 20. Im at ng+3 and didn’t feel like the dlc got on the same level of stat difficulty until I got to scadu 8-10. From what I’ve read, heard and seen that’s just across the board whether you’re on your first playthrough or on ng+. Half the difficulty comes from the stats and in typical fromsoft fashion, the other half comes from the enemies being way tougher. Most base game enemies largely stood there and took a beating compared to these dlc enemies. They all have a lot of poise with a very aggressive move set but like everything once you know the move set you find the gaps. The fire knights became fairly funny to kill with a hand to hand build since every jump kick caused them to flinch. So the specimen tower had me doing nothing but jump heavy attacks 6-8 times per enemy lol
Not using bloodfiend arm is the biggest mistake you could make 😔
Yup, that thing is a BEAST. Got the final boss down to one tick of health with it…. Much better than I was doing with the greatsword though.

I have almost 100 hours in and haven't started NG+ yet although I already beat the game. The thought of doing everything all over again in NG+ is insane to me and I'm still having fun discovering new things on this first playthrough. Glad I didn't screw myself over like some of y'all going NG+7 into the DLC. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do people even replay a game that is over 109 hours long 7 times? I wish i had that time
Im ng6 u only do bosses u wanna weapon from. I did only first play all quests. After that u kill all npc and havw fun :P
Well the game has been out for years dude 100 hours is basically nothing lol. I had 100 hours in my first playthrough then NG+ takes a couple hrs to blow through casually. The enemies are only 10 percent harder and you are the Elden lord now so you stomp everything until like NG+4. I did it to get all the achievements
@@Chris-gw2xg it’s way shorter on subsequent playthroughs. I beat the game in 10 hours last week, and I saw someone beat it 7 times in 12 hours. It only takes a long time the first playthrough, because you suck at the game and don’t know where to go.
I still don't get what fromsoft were thinking with implementing this scadutree system.
Anyone know how at 1:05 in the vid he's able to do what the black Knights do with the holy explosion after slamming the hammer? I assume it's a ash of war of some sort but Fextralife doesn't list anything like that on their site, if it is anyone know how to get it?
