Really beautiful cars. The shape the flowing lines and interior, wonderful. I wanted to buy one I couldn't find one. The ones that occasionally came up for sale was way out of my price. I had to settle for a Bentley T1 1970. It wasn't my second choice after the Star Saphire. My second choice was a Bristol 405 or Beaufighter but they were in the region of £75k plus. My third choice was a Jensen Interceptor again too expensive.
That was lovely; was surprised by the dual carb arrangement. Were those picnic tables in the back? What is the gear hold control for?🎉 Its a shame we couldnt hear the engine or some commentary. I presume its sold, would be interested to know what price it got.
WHY, WHATS WRONG WITH IT? When I was 18, and just passed my driving test. ( 1959) I bought a scruffy little 1935 Morris 8.On my second 'outing' the brakes failed on a steep hill, and to avoid mounting the cycle track on my left, I mounted the sloping back of a beautiful Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire, just like the one shown here. The owner was a boss of a Insurance company. He was very understanding, until WE discovered, that my insurance began at Midday, on THAT DAY. It was 10. 40 am. Memories eh ? this can't be the same one, can it?
