Great to see the support from others. Unfortunately for me my duo is causing me that many issues I've decided to part ways but could not come to spend so much on a phone again so got a Moto razer 2022. Miss the 2 screens but don't miss the bugs I've been having.
Maybe look at the duo again some time but keep up the good work on the channel
Thanks for that, I have flashed the ROM to my Duo 1 and it works decently, as I have now Google Pixel Fold I have transferred the same settings and layout and the only disappointment is that the unfolded screen is just a widened front screen, not two screen side by side like on Pixel Fold... But it is really fascinating how one person can make this working when the whole Microsoft is not able to prepare even A13 ...

Hello Shane, could you pls consider to recut your videos to some new videos, to show us a fresh install to Android 14, coming from a stock MS Android (no dual boot) and also the variants (dual boot option or doesn't it still make sense now). I think it would be really helpful to me and others around here. I watched the flash video some time ago, when dual boot was an option, but now with no new updates from MS it seems better to fully flash the Duo to A14 and then do OTA updates as promises by Thai. I promise you, these 2-3 new videos will blow up your channel even more. ;)
I hope you will consider this.

Wow and Ota going further I think I'll be installing this on my duo 2
Much better than the original Android 12L. Everything runs much more smoothly and the battery life has increased dramatically. Certainly twice as long as before. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the eSIM. But that's not a problem. I've ordered a physical SIM from my provider.
Thanks again for the continued updates on Surface Duo, Shane! I didn't try A13 on my Duo, but I think I'll flash A14 on it when it's a bit more stable.
QUESTION: How would you go wait restoring it to stock Duo OS if needed?

Thanks for the video on Thais work and I have updated to Android 14 on a spare device. There has now been 2 updates so how do I upload these. Do I simply extract them and put them into the System folder and do a fresh install or can I upgrade this within the Android 14 environment? Thanks. Malcolm.
Shane, can i dual-boot this like i did with thai's 13 ? I don't really want to commit to a full flash (yet). The 13 worked about 80% for me, but i couldn't use it for a daily, and went back to the 12L. I'd like to try out the 14, but want to be able to go back (easily) if it isn't good enough for me to use dependably... Any word on that ?
I had to factory reset too but beyond that, it works so no complaints otherwise lol
Hi Shane, your demo video is great. Yet I experienced "FAILED (remote: 'Command not available on locked device'). OEM unlocking is enabled in my Duo 1. I really like to upgrade to Android 14 in my Duo 1.
Ok so I have a pixel fold which I love, and an iPhone 15 pro max which I also love. I want to pick up a duo 2. Talk to me about phone calls, is it true that you can only make and receive calls with the screens open? Pardon the ignorance, I don’t know a ton about the phone except that from what I’ve seen, I feel like I need to give it a drive

One could get rid of that cut icon in the middle of dock by installing an app with a transparent icon and no title and place it center of an uneven amount of apps.
I could install it on my SD2 without any wiping, hard reset or loss of data on my SD2 stock Rom ( I had to delete active logical partition to install due to failed flashing due to insufficient space) . It is much better than A13, as almost everything is working including 5G, but excluding native camera app. I had other camera app (from XDA links) at which is working. Kudos to Developer ( Thai) for his tremendous efforts to make this possible single handedly.
However, I still feel implementation of dual screen in stock SD2 Rom is much better user experience for dual screen use. I heavily miss the way Kindle App works in stock SD2 Rom, with default seamless two pade reading. Also miss keyboard limited to single screen from SD2 stock Rom.
After few days of use planning to get back to the stock SD2 Rom for my personal liking and work flow/ habits
Continued life for these great devices. Calms my nerves, from a security perspective, about picking up an older duo to have around the house
It was great to own a duo, but just exchange it for a steam deck (the guy who I exchange it with didn't seemed to understand what the steam deck actually was) my time with the surface duo was great but never got used to it, always ended up returning to my regular waterproof smartphone

Pen works, buttons won't. Might get right click.
While I appreciate the work put in to this, there's a lot of bugs so far. I was running the Android 13 and put this on top and there's a lot wrong with it: mobile is not at all detected (but it is on the Duo side), apps don't seem to work when opened from the app drawer, the taskbar doesn't allow custom apps nor can you remove the ones there; it also just randomly disappeared right now, can't seem to add apps to the screen, etc.
Again, the fact that Thai went through all this work (when Microsoft wouldn't and didn't) is amazing and these issues are probably because he just launched this four days ago, so I'm hoping this is just the case.
I wonder if updating Android might be better or worse for run some games, does someone knows about what I'm asking?🤔
Hi Shane. Thanks for sharing! Is there any way to disable the hinge gap on Android 12? Used to be able to do this with a rotation app (and turn the screen upside down), but stopped working after Android 11 :(

The developer told me months back that you could just flash the stock ROM in recovery. I assume that's still the case.
Google camera Playstore works fine. I to also had to factory reset all good

The flash seems to have worked for my Surface Duo, but now AT&T service says it is temporarily unavailable. Anyone know how to fix this?

This has nothing to do with Duo 3 or Microsoft.
I tried one week Android 13 Rom, had to go back to stock OS because camera won't work at all (tried many gcams not one works), screen is trolling user (always lights up the wrong screen in phone mode), phone calls were buggy (4g phone calls doesn't work properly, tried different solutions but might be my own problem because of my provider?)
Stock gets the job done, but I really liked the smoothness of the pixel rom and some extra functions tbh...
Had exactly the same issues with calls and notifications... So went back to stock.
Hopefully this 14 might work out better
So I installed the 14 ROM but its crashing when auto rotating. I thought about getting back to stock Android 12L. How do I get back to stock? Pls help

Unfortunately, Google can't really control when carriers push updates. This update was released by Google a long time ago.
@@scaryifliteral Yes, but when the carrier is Google 5 you would think that would take some priority. I do realize that fi is an MBNO.
