I'm failing to understand why these pants cost so much. They're not inventing anything new, in terms of the features found on the pants. 5.11 has been putting similar features on their pants ever since the release of the Covert Khaki, and improved them on the Covert Khaki 2.0, both of which cost a fraction of the price of these. They also have a flexible waistband, which I consider important when traveling. I'm not sure I get the logic behind their pricing, though they are otherwise great pants. Lovely review, too.
Oh yea I loved these pants they just didn't fit me the way I wanted but I'm kind of short and stout. Funny, your right "pants with features". My go to pants for cool and cold weather are thunderbolt jeans. They have a 4way stretch fabric that is kind of fuzzy inside that makes them extremely comfortable, I mean like put them on and go to bed comfortable. Great video. You should pickup one of the bluffworks blazers, I'm kind of tempted, would love to get your take on them
@@PackHacker I have no idea why people are saying anything Dockers. They are trash that is just slightly above H&M and Forever 21 quality. Dockers construction and quality will last just about two months before getting holes. I don't even travel. I just use them for normal use. So, when I say slightly above H&M and Forever 21 quality, that is exactly what I mean. Dockers is owned by Levis and Levis are pretty decent and durable. So, I have no idea how Dockers are so much trash.
Hey Jack O' Lantern - we have no plans to review the Ascender Chinos in the immediate pipeline, but we are interested in checking them out in the future. Stay tuned! 😊👍 - Rebecca
Hey aayotechnology! For a comparison between the two, the Outlier SD's are stretchier than the Bluffworks Chinos & seem to repel dirt & moisture better after a comparison. Plus, the SD's don't have a "swishy" fabric. The Bluffworks Chinos do offer some great security features with the pockets though, and look a little more like regular chinos. The Outlier SD's look "comfortable" in the way they wear. We mention the Outlier SD's at the end of our written review here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/bluffworks/chino-tailored-fit/ Also, here's our full review on the Outlier SD's if you're interested: packhacker.com/travel-gear/outlier/slim-dungarees/ Hope this helps you!
How do you compare sizing to Outlier Slim Dungarees? I own this chinos on size 32 width and wondering if should take Outliers Slim Dungarees the same size or 1 bigger/smaller
Tom, did you find these Bluffworks Chinos to be a bit clingy? I just got a pair and while I like the fit, the pant legs cling to my legs. It's a strange sensation and it causes them to look wrinkled. I noticed in your video how they appeared to be doing the same thing to your legs. Any thoughts?
aside from your no. 1 Outlier's SD, do you prefer Western Rise's AT Slim Rivet or Oliver's Passage Pants or this one? I back Western Rise's Evolution pants, but am still looking for another light color pants (probably stone/cloud color)
Hey Jase, anything in particular from Rohan? I've traveled with their ultra silver trunks and they're still going strong today (after 3 years). Thanks, - Nathan
I have not had much luck with these. I wore them once and some oil from a crepe dripped on them and after 5 washings they still remain. So much for stain resistant. I am going back to Tilley pants. My last pair lasted 5 years rather than one wearing. Customer service did nothing. Give them a pass.
@@PackHacker well I watch and love your videos and plan on doing a lot of traveling in a very very very near future and I was introduced 2 Merino wool from one of your videos and it just seems like a really smart option among traveling 😁
Glad you're digging the videos, Michael! Yes, we're big fans of Merino wool - check out our Merino wool guide for more information and some product reviews too - packhacker.com/guide/merino-wool-travel-clothing/ - enjoy your travels, let us know how you get on! - Rebecca
Hey there R Ww- we agree. These pants definitely are not wrinkle-free as Bluffworks claims. We go into it a bit more in depth here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/bluffworks/chino-tailored-fit/

Dockers alpha pants are dope.
Nice! We've heard a couple of recs on this now. Thanks for sharing doobeone!

Rhone Commuter Pants. Please review!
Bonobos tech Chino.

Hey Victor- Glad you like the review! We haven't reviewed the 5.11's yet but we'd love to check them out 👍

Nice! We've had the Thunderbolt Jeans on our radar for a bit now. Good idea on the blazer, too.
Too many products to review!
Nice review, for me the Dockers 360 smart flex are my go to pants for traveling... Super comfortable and also with one hidden pocket
Nice armero83! We'll take a look!

Are you guys planning a review of Bluffworks latest Ascender Chinos?

Why is the Outlier still your fave pair? You should explain. Also, what is the fit like? These seem tighter and more stretchy.

Hi Matt - yes, I've noticed the Chinos tend to cling, especially when there is some static involved.

Nice review. So since the chinos are only available in a 'tailored fit', does that mean these pants are more for slim guys?
Hey Jack O' Lantern! On the Bluffworks site, you can toggle between "Tailored Fit" and "Regular Fit".

doesn't English Laundry make pants just like these but for like 1/8 of the cost?

Hey MicK, we prefer Oliver's Passage Pants. We haven't gotten our hands on Western Rise's Evolution pants but we'd love to check them out. 👍
another candidate is mission workshop's signal pants
also (off the topic) would love to hear what you think about "bluffworks' travel suit"
We'll check these all out! Thanks for all the recommendations 👍
Is anyone making travel pants that are not designed like skinny jeans? All of them I find are cut that way. Looking for a looser fit here
I use Rohan gear when I travel.

I have several items from the company but interested in buying the “Stretch bags” next.

Looks a bit wrinkly at 48 seconds.

Pack Hacker I got a pair, but they don’t feel very stretchy. Maybe I was expecting too much.
Ugh! Bummer, R Ww. Let us know if you try out any other pants that you prefer! 👍
Pack Hacker maybe I should have gone regular fit instead of tailored.
Hopefully you find a pair that work best for you soon R Ww - we're happy to hear any suggestions you have for future reviews!
