i used to live in a jewish neighborhood in brooklyn new york and i was walking home with my hispanic friends when a jewish guy in a van pulled up and told us that he doesnt want our kind around and he followed us to our homes while living in this neighborhood i made multiple hispanic, black, asian, even arabic friends but not one jew remind you that this is a jewish neighborhood where the majority are jews the chances of me making a jewish friend should be higher than an asian but no i had tons of asian friends not one jew the only time a jew ever made conversation with me was when it was shabbat and they asked me if i could turn off the lights for them in their house i lived there for 10 years and i do not have a positive memory dealing with jews in brooklyn they have their own ambulances police and even public transportation they take any extra precautions to not associate with "outsiders" to the extent that they cross the street when they see you its a shame that a group that faced as much of discrimination as your own is discriminating against others
Vir Quisque Vir Hasidic Jews in NY brutalize palestinians?? Hasidic Jews are a minority and overzealous and don’t like outsiders. Israeli jews are mostly secular.
uhhh... if enough people are saying Israelis are rude, they are probably rude. I'm American and I deal with rude Americans every day. I know if a tourist says we are rude, I believe them.
My answer, as an Israeli: I think we Israelis are extremely rude, very racist and of course, we do think we're better than all other people. I don't accept the answers/excuses given in this video. Why are we like this? In my opinion it's a mixture of answers. Here are only 4 reasons: 1) We think we're the best because we sometimes believe in the Jewish concept of the Chosen People. Every Israeli Jew, even the secular, is secretly asking him/herself why are we chosen? What's the purpose of being chosen? -The land, "The Holy Land" is the chosen land some would say.. Why is this tiny piece of hot desert chosen? Remember, as Jews we don't necessarily care that Jesus walked here. For us he was Joshua or something, a Jewish guy from Nazereth. Why were we supposedly destined to live in this awful part of the world?.. 2) Overly dense, life is extremely hard: Israel is in many ways, the opposite of Canada. Canada is huge and has room to breath. It's got no wars, no aggressive area politics, it cannot be easily conquered. It has resources, we had only Salt for the first 70 years. Not even trees and shade when the country was established!! While the countries are opposites, so are the people. In some ways, people are shaped by the land and its reality. 3) We are indeed still a tribal society. In mentality at least. Worst than that, we are 12 tribal societies mashed together, with hate, racism and exclusion all very apparent in between our different tribes. The tribes, fight between themselves, though some would deny. So of course it is the attitude others get from us. Just imagine, a French and a German or a Polish and a British are far more similar to each other than an Ashkenazi Jew and a Yemenite Jew living 20 meters apart in Israel. 4) We are the as closed as any liberal society can be, so much as to be similar to dictatorships in that manner. Meaning, for example, Israelis literally can't drive outside their country's border. In all 70 years of existence, Israelis could never as to even walk 1 meter outside their country (apart for a small period where we were able to vacate in Egypt's Sinai and not without risking our lives). As Jews we receive hate and violence in almost every part of the world when we travel. etc.. etc.. This, among other things, drives us into being a very closed society where we choose to elect those who will keep us close and safe to power. Sort of a Stockholm syndrome. We choose to read the papers that tell us we can keep being a close and safe society. We are, in a way, caught in a cycle that perpetuates itself, it will take a long time or a catastrophically proportioned event to shake us out of this rotten state. ---We're not a very nice people, rarely ever outside our tribe.
My respect for you. I need you to knoe must of the people really don t hate jews. First of all is illegal in Europe :)).. some of us just don t like the extre religious jews who are racist.. that all..
FYI Christianity claims its followers are chosen by God and Jews are no longer chosen, same with Islam that claims the same about Muslims vs Christians and Jews. Jews are criticized for "being chosen" notion by Muslims and Christians because of this marketing issue.
@CULI-FABRIZIO Fabrizio, it is the Romans who crucified Jesus, a Jew. He was a reformist who created Christianity. He was allegedly betrayed by a fellow Jew but however you spin it, the Romans, not the Jews, are thr ones who crucified Jesus.
I’m a Canadian and I visited Israel in 1998. I too found that Israelis are very unfriendly, arrogant and rude people. Smiley faces to a stranger?! Huh, forget about it... However, few Israelis from European roots showed some sociability. But my final impression is that there’s too much hate in Israel. By the way, I also visited Lebanon (which is a Middle Eastern country) and people there, especially in the Christian areas, are the friendliest, warmest and most loving people I've ever met in my life. In just some minutes, one feels he's one of them. They just adore strangers and I felt I don’t wanna leave this beautiful people… So it's not an excuse to say that rudeness and arrogance are middle-eastern traits!
+Aline Achkar +Aline Achkar funny i was in canada last summer 3 months, on the surface ppl are very nice but will stab u in the back first chance they get. see? not everyone is perfect
I'm living in Israel (even better, in a settlement since childhood) and have to agree, most have forgotten the genuine "human" inside of them. It's a social / psychological destruction journey that begins since childhood. There are a million of details on why and how: the jewish religion, psychological mirroring, the military service, the holocaust, all together create a strong "Israeli" self-identity while throwing the "human" identity down the garbage. My favorite point of reference is that it's very rare to find Israelis going solo and joining another group of mixed nationalities to hang out and travel. That's a big red flag, and probably all the proof you need that something is fucked up in here. "Chosen people" of course is only relevant for the religious people (50% of population) and I don't even need to discuss this ridiculous detail. Me myself, I'm heading out to a more friendly country, I'm actually surprised I "survived" it and kept my normal human touch throughout the entire process, which felt almost as self-torture I guess cause I've could have done it sooner.
There are many Israelis who appear to have gleaned your same understanding after their growing up in Israel. Gilad Atzmon comes to mind as a brilliant spokesperson for coming to terms with a religious/ethnic/nationalist identification which denies the universalist/ humanist impulses of Western Civilization, derived from the Greco/Roman/Christian "evolution" of thought. You could do no better than read his work "The Wandering Who", to help separate yourself from a former identification, which no longer nurtures your "human touch". Best of fortune to you.
+Vered Lagasa I would hate anyone regardless of religion, country If they utter this crap. You really believe what they are saying and also think that I hate jews?? huh! Anyway, I would love to visit Israel, if I am, you know, welcomed!
Born in Ukraine, grew up in the US. If you ask a Russian tourist what they think about Americans, you'll hear about "rubber smiles, which are just masks, where nobody really likes you, but smiles all the time like an idiot" etc. etc. etc. Ask an American tourist the reverse and you'll get how nobody smiles on the street, everybody looks at you suspiciously, etc. etc. etc. But as you spend time in either place, you realize that this doesn't really define the people and the culture. In that sense, that guy at a cafe was right: you shouldn't draw conclusions from a short vacation.
I agree wholeheartedly. Most tourists don't get to spend any real time with locals simply because it's impossible to strike up a deep conversation with a stranger in your own country, let alone on the other side of the world. You really "know" the locals when you actually live amongst them, like you did.
can you also take into consideration the truly atrocious reputation Israelis have abroad as well - I'm thinking Nepal,Thailand, Peru and Goa in particular?
revol148 And? You want to hear of the reputation that the Indians and India, the Thai/Thailand/child prostitution, the Peruans (like much of the rest of the Latin Americans) have in the US?
***** good bit of deflection there: take the original comment - bring in another nationality and turn the question around a full 180 degrees - nice one! Anyway about these Israelis I was talking about....
revol148 It's not a deflection. It's reality that we always find something not to like in someone else's culture when there's a disconnect or a gap with ours. Most Americans who travel to Peru, for example, wouldn't go if it weren't for the Inca ruins - what else makes Peru different from any other Third World country?
Im German, and i have been in Israel twice, 15 days first time, and a month second time. There are some obnoxious and rude people, but in general I think Israelis are awesome. I love everything about Israel and Jewish people. So its as stupid to say everyone is rude and not nice in Israel, as itd stupid to say all Germans are nazis.Which is non-sense. P.S. Corey, Ive watched all your videos, and Ive learned a LOT. Hopefully one day you will ask Israelis the question I sent you:)
Then Erich, u stayed probably in your Hotel, where there are no REAL people, or u were surrounded by ur friends. Or u just Blind, to see whats going on around u.
christopher 888 what are you saying by ' no Real people' , that's hilarious. And you are saying that Erich stayed both times (like he mentioned 15 days and 1 month ) at the hotel ALL THE TIME without going out? Your comment is absolutely ridiculous.
mourad 227 I dont want to watch anti-semitic people speaking bad about Jews. Why would I hate any Jew? They are rich, they control a lot of things, they watch each other...Am I jelaous? No,why should I be jealous. They created everything they have with their hard work, although they have been hated throught history. Plus, Im German, and Germans are the richest country in the EU, and one of the richest country in the world. We are very hard working, discipline, loyal and honest people. I wish nothing but the best to the state of Israel.
In my line of work I get a lot of Jewish clients. Most of the Jews I encountered seems to have some sort of God Complex and feel like they have the right to be condescending and rude just because they are wealthy, the Jews really do have a repugnant attitude.
Lived in Israel for about 2 months. It was my own kin (northern Europeans) who looked out for me and one nice middle aged Jewish lady who told me to ignore and go ahead of this ornery ultra Orthodox man who screamed at me. My experience they are tribal and should have their own country and likewise for my own kin/tribe.
I'm mexican and my husband and I traveled to Israel on 2019, people in Tel aviv is nicer than people in Jerusalem..but not too "nice" haha! Don't expect too much from people just enjoy the old city if you are thinking of going over there. Maybe they are like that because they are on the defensive..
As Chris Hedges recently said, they have "sanctified their victimhood" and perpetuate it generationally, intentionally. They are told everyone is out to get them. I highly recommend watching the Israeli movie "Defamation"
I worked at an israeli company for a couple years as a non jew. People were very welcoming, warm, funny, and straightforward. BUT i did get a sense of underlying exclusivity. It was never in your face but always under the surface. Like they were all part of a secret society with a secret handshake. That might've been my imagination, but I'd imagine the same exclusivity would be present at any organization where the majority is made of a group of people with similar values and backgrounds.
I think it is because you are one man in a lot of Israelies, but also we Israelies see what people say about us in the world news and it effect us, and also we have different culter, traditions and religion and usually don't feel at home in other countries. Also military service and the reality of wars and terror attacks, being on constant threat creates trible connection that we can't explain to somebody that comes from outside. We care for each other more, and will do a lot to help others from our "tribe", but it will take us more effort to connect with someone from another coutry who doesn't really get our directness and less formality, and feel like they don't really understand us.
@@Bettybaminjerusalem that makes sense. One thing i appreciated the most about working at that company was the straightforward attitude they had towards everything. Efficient, to the point, no bs. It was really refreshing and sometimes even funny lol.
+Barry irlandi It's hilarious how you assume answers for yourself. Let me, as an Israeli, answer your first question: Why am I in Israel? Because I was born here. Shocking, right?
Barry irlandi My parents and grandparents were not born here. However, they DO believe in god, so that dismisses the issue you brought up in your first comment. I speak for myself; not for my family members.
lol.....you are either a liar or an American Irani... what is stolen must be returned even if those born on the stolen land had no part in the theft... yes the Europeans came and stole the lands of America but two wrongs don't make a right
The guy (10:30) first says "You are yelling", which is rude, then he doesn't accept the question (which is confronting), and then says "We are polite". Great self-awarrness :D
I find it quite interesting to hear from a Israeli tour guide that locals are very hostile towards foreigners, yet the same hostile people are foreigners themselves from Europe and the kingdom of khazaria...
I'm a Macedonian /Australian, I have worked as a contractor for Jews of different ethnicity's. Most of them I found are very direct which can be taken as aggressive or rude, this goes especially for Hungarian Jews very serious people. On the other hand South African Jews a quite the opposite, friendly people. One thing about them all is they were all very wealthy people, I never met a broke Jew. From what I can see on the video is they all seem to be educated well spoken people, yet the last guy in the clip shows what I was saying about arrogance. This does not mean that he is a bad person it's rather a cultural thing. For example listen the way southern Europeans or Middle Eastern people talk, you'd think they were fighting. It's the way they converse nothing more than that. Love your clips they are very informative.
+Chris G Yes...why else would I be telling you Im broke on a comment where you said you've only met wealthy Jewish people? lol Im broke now, I grew up poor and plenty of Jewish people are poor. Look up "poverty in Israel" if you don't believe me.
Ok, well your the first that I know of. But why is that, aren't you people supposed to lend each other a helping hand? Or have you strayed away from your flock?
The Middle East is never rude and won't be rude anytime soon. Here in the Middle East we have the most welcoming and whole hearted people I've ever seen and will ever see.
I am an Israeli that lives in the US for several years. I live in downtown Chicago ....I feel that I can answer some of the questions, and this is my opinion Israelis are rude aggressive loud pushy aren't polite and they do think that they are better then everyone else Why? .It is hard to explain and I feel that with time it even got worse. I wish it was not like that but it does. I feel that in Chicago people are very polite nice and respectful and I love it. Now every coin has two sides. I feel that in Israel people are warm and open that leads them to be more direct and everyone is "in your business"e In the US everyone is keeping there business for them self Now here is why. 1) Israel was formed very quickly when immigrants came from all over the world were everyone brought his culture from where he lived before, was very proud of it and thought that this is the way it should be. This creates an ethnical competition everyone tries to prove that they are better . and the behavior that remains after this fusion is very aggressive 2) The Jewish mother wants her son/daughter to be a doctor and tells all the time that he/r is the best . 3) Israelis have a huge problem, they hate to feel cheated and especially that they are "suckers" this fear is very strong, stronger then anywhere else. In the US people are very polite and nice, but it is very shallow and people are not very warm, If you do not mind your own business you may find yourself in deep troubles Where I live,it is very nice but 20 min from here to the south side of Chicago, it is a real zoo of drugs and violence In Israel every place is safe The US is huge so they have to have strict rules and regulations the individual is not important as the country and the law. Israel is a small country that should make rules and regulations but the government is doing a poor job. The individual is more important the the country
White people are actually quite unwelcoming, opposed to charm, sensitive self-centred, and opposed to any other ideology other than Euro-Centrism how can they be warm?
+NebulaBlackF Yes. Dutch people are very open about their opinions. We have had a politically correct, elite that has been ruling over us for a long time though. (i don't know if you know what is going on over here) But they never really represented the real dutch people. We just became indifferent about politics and got distracted by material things because we all lived good, easy lives. Even poor people. In Sweden the people are actually themselves very weak so the PC elite does represent the Swedes pretty well over there i think. Dutch people are not like that at all. People have been waking up more and more lately and they started to become interested in politics again and now the dutch Government is becoming afraid. People are using increasingly more aggressive language against the traitor politicians and there has even been some violence already. I don't think you will ever see that happening in a country like Sweden..
+Soap1O I've been to Germany over 50 times. I'm always talking about how helpful they are. One time a guy spent about 15-20 mins. drawing me a map of how to find a place in Munich. I don't speak a word of German and many make an effort to speak English. I think Germans are busy people but very helpful! They are direct if you spit on the ground or throw rubbish around. Otherwise, I have never met a more kind people and I've traveled a lot.
I am just back from Israel, I stopped by at an antiquities shop in Jerusalem owned by an elderly man. He was so moody and definitely not trying to sell me anything. He was also direct, funny and honest and I found him hilariously rude and really liked him. A few meters down the street another (bedouin) shopkeeper invited me to a cup of sage tea over which we philosophised about life for an hour. I bought nothing from either shop, but won't ever forget the encounters. I love Israelis :)
I live in Israel because I was born in Israel, my family from England and Transylvania in general ... Once I have a possibility I will move to another country, I do not like Israel and i am afraid to walk around the street at night because there is so much hatred here. The people here do not respect each other enough, all because of the religion ... I do not know whether I am considered Jewish or not, but I do not want to be associated with this society.
Frankly, Im a Muslim and Turkish citizen, And I have a Turk Jew Friend from Turkey . Now he is living in Israel. We are still in contact and respecting & loving each other. He is a good person and pretty polite and sincere . But he was not very religious ,but traditioner. No have bad feelings for Jews. Already we are Human. Oneday we will pass away from this world to the other world. No one must care about with this world.Only We the three big religions. Need to respect ourselves.
The Israelis I have met were incredibly rude. I was on a train and when I got up to leave the train the Israelis in front of me looked like I should have given them my seat earlier. They looked so entitled.
if you are pretty young and they were old then I would understand because in israeli view of point you are the rude one who don't let old people who can be your parent/grand parent to sit. if you were about the same age then yes, they are just annoying.
One thing I love about Israelis is that they can be refreshingly blunt and straight forward. Something which you certainly do not get from "diaspora jews".
marokaisrael No, I meant disaspora jews, i.e non-Israelis. Some of which are Ashkenazi, some are not, just like some Israelis are Ashkenzai (the majority) and some are not.
self confidence and the sky is the limit attitudes are 2 completely different things. The last one literally admitted that its in their culture to think theyre better than others.
Calling yourself "God's chosen people" means you think God loves you more than others, which makes you believe you are better than those which are not His chosen people. So why do Jews think that they are better than everyone else? Because their religion tells them so.
I laughed a lot at the answers of the last old man. He literally applied what he wanted to deny. He described the convictions of the tourist as stupid and stupid. Everything was stupid. Even in explaining why the Israelis saw themselves better than the rest of the people, he did not deny that. Because they are chosen from the Lord, that biblical doctrine will surely create arrogance among the Israelites
There really was ONE stupid thing though- this video.. because what the lady said was funny- she said: "they are arrogant but it is not a bad arrogance" :P --->> tell me: WHAT DOES GOOD ARROGANCE LOOK LIKE? Lady??
Do not forget, they are permitted to lie, and it considered a positive character trait to be able to lie to the world about true Jewish beliefs and practices. When you lie to paint Israel and Jews in a positive light, it is considered to be a service to your people, and comes with no shame attached.
@shiny penny Kol Nidre is a prayer that cancels all vows that you did by mistake, in a way of speaking. It DOESN'T cancel vows that you did intentionally. WTF are you talking about. And the Torah forbids telling lies "Various passages of the Bible feature exchanges that assert lying is immoral and wrong" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie
Israelis are actually VERY friendly. When I was there, EVERYONE was very nice to me. Chutzpah is a HUGE part of understanding the Israeli people. In Yiddish it means boldness, audacity or strong nerve. Israelis have a lot of Chutzpah, because they've had to in order to survive. If people don't understand that, then of course they will think Israelis are rude. Especially Americans. You also have to understand the identity of the Israelis -- the notion of the Sabra. prickly on the outside but on the inside -- soft and sweet.
Wow, Sharon is a major babe. I think I just fell in love. Also, I lived in Israel for a year and found Israelis to be very friendly but they are also very competitive by nature which at first came across as rude. I agree though that once you scratch the surface they are very friendly and helpful people. They just won't go out of their way to "sugar coat" things to make others feel better like a lot of Americans like myself do. It's their directness that can make them come off as being jerks.
Wow! Ohad was so honest and I think he hit the nail on the head. Good observations and an honst assesment of your own people. My people, Slavic, are very hospitable to strangers but it's more about tradition and self interest than being nice.
I've been to Israel 4 or 5 times, mostly in Tel Aviv though I've traveled up North a few times. I have met some very nice people while there (both Arabic and Jewish). It's a different culture than my own, and yes I can understand if some people interpret their behavior patterns in supermarkets, bus stations, and other public places as being rude. The important point to remember is that it is not intentional; they are just used to pushing and shoving in certain situations; it's not a unique behavior but it can feel unpleasant if you are a tourist and you're trying to get something done (buy tickets for the train, book a hotel room, deal with taxi drivers, etc.)
It's ingrained in the culture ( chosen people ) that they are better or at least straight forward ( rude ) when they speak their mind . I'm good with that
As a tourist in Paris, Rome, and multiple American cities and other destinations, i have NEVER seen this question posed of anyone other than Israeli Jews. Double standards, as per usual.
BODY LANGUAGE OF THE OLD MAN AT 10:11 the man nods his head to confirm the question that there is rudeness to tourists; but the old man says something different from what his body is saying. Also at 10:43 when he answers that Israelis at the chosen people he looks right to access that part of the brain, when he looks back at the camera there is a greasy smile on his face... This guy has a superiority complex for CERTAIN!!
Colombians cold? i'm half colombian and every single person who have been there have told me how overly-friendly we are to the point of annoyance. Hell we kiss people even when we had just met them.
No, he said his own Mideast & (North) Westerner cultures are the cold ones *at **5:14**,* and he says Colombians are *warm* (or actually most Latinos, he said, not only Colombians) ...see, this is what happens: you get confused because you don't know the language, leading you to STEREOTYPE the entire nation (and possibly is what made the other Colombiana stereotype them...or *the Latina tourist may have only visited the Big Cities:* e.g. people tell me "The French are rude"...usually the ones who visited only Paris, not the French countryside. When I hear a tourist stereotype an entire nation, it makes me think the tourist wishes to think herself as "above" the foreigners, not vice-versa. e.g. Sociologists have shown that when people (not only the Jews) are in a big city, they do have a tendency to be more rude than "country folks".
I recently spent 3 weeks in Israel and did not find Israelis arrogant, aggressive or rude. Everyone I met was extremely friendly and helpful. They are direct but so am I so it was actually nice to talk to people that said what's on their mind. Loved Israel!
I think Israelis are unique, but also much like all of the other people who live by the Mediterranean Sea. They are mercurial. They blow hot and cold. They are lively. They don't give a hoot. They don't take themselves, and especially not you, too seriously. I haven't traveled everywhere, but the French on the Cote d'Azur are like that too. I like it. It's warm, sometimes hot, and rarely dull.
I support Israel, but never forget: you exist, because the western nations want you too. You are safe because American Christians believe it's their religious duty to protect that land. Before those Americans all die out, I really hope you guys can establish some better relations with your neighbors.
Abdurrahman Köksal Christianity identifies itself as the natural successor to ancient Judaism. The Bible's Old Testament is made up of the major Jewish writings up until the coming of Christ. Historically, Christianity has had a strange relationship with Judaism. Religiously, Christianity sees modern Judaism (anything after Christ) as being corrupted by rules, rituals and a rejection of God. However, the Jew ethnicity is seen as special, having descended from the 12 tribes of Israel and Abraham. Since the bible says. "And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed." Many Christians feel a sort of responsibility to protect the nation of Israel. Modern Christianity, still sees Judaism as a pathway taken off the truth. But Israel is Israel. Naturally they prefer the land to remain in either Christian or Ethnically Jewish Hands.
SlightlyVisible it did a little help me to understand why the US government supported some terrorist to kill innocent people. It is just about who got the money. The terrorist I've mentioned is IDF btw.
***** Do you even know the definition of Apartheid? The sheer ignorance oozing out of people nowadays is appalling. Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in South Africa enforced through legislation by the National Party government from the 80's through the early 90's, under which the rights, associations, and movements of the MAJORITY black inhabitants were curtailed and Afrikaner WHITE MINORITY rule was maintained. Do you see how foolish and ignorant your statement sounds like now? The 'palestinians' are officially governed by THEIR votes via TWO governing bodies: the Fatah (Mahmoud Abbas) and Hamas (Hania, Mash'al). They formed their separate governing rights, etc. They are a separate entity from the governing body of Israel --> That's criteria #1. The #2 criteria for Apartheid would be a racial MAJORITY that is ruled by a racial MINORITY within the governing body. Israel's population is far greater than the fakestinian..err 'palestinian' population! But that doesn't matter anyway due to criteria #1 which I stated above. Therefore your argument is INVALID. Try again. Read a book.
tkach21 Actually its you that needs to read a book Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in South Africa enforced through legislation by the National Party governments from 1948 to 1994. Israel is very close to becoming a fully apartheid state. If they don't except a two state solution then very soon the palestinians will outnumber the Israelis leaving them with two choices the end of a Jewish led state or no voting rights for palestinians. A lot of commentators say that Israel is dangrously close to being an apartheid state if they are not there already with Jewish-only settlements, the ID system, separate roads for Israeli and Palestinian citizens, military checkpoints, discriminatory marriage law, the West Bank barrier, use of Palestinians as cheap labour, Palestinian West Bank enclaves, inequities in infrastructure, and access to land and resources between Palestinians and Israeli residents in the Israeli-occupied territories resembles some aspects of the South African apartheid regime
I've been in Israel for half a few months, in Kibutz Ein Carmel. Every weekend visited another place, i found Jews outside the Kibutz closed, not rude. My thought is, not because they think they are better. It is because everything happening to them throughout the centuries, so they needed to be inventors, closed, direct in the face etc etc for the sake of surviving. my husband and i have good friends from Israel, because beneath the surface they are warm and true not false. I am from the Netherlands so we are also some what direct in the face maybe that's why we find the mentality of Jews not disturbing.
I'm American and I have many Jewish friends AND Columbian friends. None of them feel they are mistreated here. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. There are also jerks everywhere. I have also met both Israelis and Palestinians and they were very kind. I think they should learn to live together in order to better all of their lives; especially the children. Hate is taught and it is up to the younger generation to start to change the tide and stop considering all people in a certain group an enemy.
Thanks for that comment at the end about Israeli culture. I also believe that any adjectives are not permanent. One person may be having a bad day and react rudely, but that doesn't make the person rude. And this applies to every culture and country in the planet.
I think that the people in this video reacted very well on this question. I don't know if Greeks or Germans or Italians would react so rational and calm on a question "people believe that the Greeks (or the Germans or the Italians) are rude". Please, ask the same question in another country, that would be interesting. (I am not Israeli, I am not even Jewish)
In my experience e, israelis will always help tourists. The thing is that israelis by nature are aggressive but when somebody needs help, israelis will be the first to help
The first and only woman that wanted to know my name, I met in Israel, when I ordered some food at Karnafs in Tel Aviv, in 2011. I was so unfamiliar with that question, out of the blue and from a woman, that I checked back three times because I thought that I did not hear right and trying to figure out what wrong thing I could have done that she is asking me for my name. I did not get that she just wanted to know my name, simple as that. And, to my amazement, she also asked me if I were satisfied with the food. What a nut I have been.
And who told them that? Some fella walking up a hill tripping on DMT, only he saw a flaming bush (yeah right) spoke to God, again (yeah right) Done this myself once or twice!
Israelis are just generally direct. Westerners may put on fake smiles but not actually care about you. Israelis are not about sugar coating thinks and putting on fake smiles. If they like you they like you. If they don't they don't. But in Israel I found strangers were much more willing to do huge acts of service to me while there that I NEVER would have recieved from a stranger in the west. Not saying it was all Israeli strangers, but definitely some where in the US is none.
i was recently for the first time in Israel and not one person was unfriendly or distant! in contrary! Everybody was very nice, helpful and opened. If you show true interest into the culture and the poeple then everybody is just happy to speak with you. In no other country I felt so welcomed and relaxed like in Israel.
boo I think it's depends who are you asking and what are you asking because in Israel it's like a huge street if you are a person who laugh a lot love to eat and dance that's alllllll you need to get along here depends who you ask of course
Israeli have no real culture though, they're a giant melting pot of interlopers, and with only 68 years of existence as an illegal state. Just be glad you're not a Palestinian, your as would've been grass dear.
No; being delusional is an essential aspect of Narcissistic-Tribal Culture. The ancient Israeli scholar/"prophet" Amos outlined this in papers, which later became part of the Hebrew Bible. While recent politics make it seem like all forms of Zionism and Israeli Culture take self-serving bias as an innate and inherent part of the local Culture, narcissism and especially narcissistic Nationalism/Tribalism has been seen as poison to the culture since at least the time of Amos. In Amosian Zionism, the point of Judaism is to act as an example counter to narcissism (ie; Socially-Positive Societal Growth); the purpose of (Amosian) Zionism is to establish a place where this can be practiced openly and safely.
Hi Corey, it is nice knowing your works here. I really enjoy it and thank you for enlighten me on how Israelis in general are thinking of themselves and their livelihood. So, shalom/salam from Malaysia. (>.
I worked in a hostel for some years in Amsterdam, we had guests from all over the world, the most annoying ones were by far the Israelis, almost all of them would immediately check the receit in front of your face, ask questions in an attacking/blaming way and tone and almost always try to get a better deal, room, lower price etc., and usually complain about a lot of things. I don't think it's a jewish thing, since we also had a lot of jews, from the US, that were nothing like the israelis. To me the israelis were very similar in behaviour with Turks and Middle Easteners (also not my favorite guests usually) in the angry/rude tone, the mistrust towards others, trying or havingh to negotiate prices and being pushy, not accepting 'no' easily. I guess it's because they have to be in their own countries. I don't think it has to do with the 'chosen people' or being closed for outsiders or because they feel superior, it might be the case, but Koreans and Japanese also believe they are the best in general and they are one of the most polite and friendly people usually.
I think it's because of the culture. in Israel, doing things like bartering and being pushy is almost expected, atleast that was what I was told when I visited it.
I heard and experienced it so often, while traveling. In every country people feel israelis as the most annoying tourists. Even in colombia, the colombians said, how israelis act, is very bad. Expecially guys after military who travel aferwards the world, act like they are the kings.. Unpolite, f*** around, "taking what they want"..
He’s sexy, I’ll give you that. He’s also friendly. About smart and well educated, ugh… I wouldn’t know. He generalizes Middle Eastern people as rude and he makes predatory comments about the girl from Colombia who asked the question.
Arabs are Well know for being hostipatble to people persians and Turks too isrealis is a different story they are not warm like the other people in middle east
mourad 227 Israelis and Arabs are both hospitable. those are good traits that we share, but we are also pushy, aggressive, and steadfast when it comes to business. ever tried bartering with a middle eastern? i have bartered with both Israelis and Arabs in Israel and Judea and Samaria, try negotiating the price of merchandise with an Arab and you might get an idea of why its so hard to negotiate in politics as well. but hey, i love that about us :)
Beni Habibi hahahha isrealis are no way no way hospitable like the arabs it has nothing to do for them being jewish no its the way they have been raised with the idea that the world hates them.
mourad 227 you ever been over to an Israelis house? its pretty unusual that they won't be hospitable, as hospitality is considered one of the most important virtues in Judaism.
Actually she's pretty stupid because she said that they are arrogant but not in a bad way. Can you tell me what a good arrogance is??? ( there is no such thing a good arrogance) which means that she's pretty DUMB!
Marvelous for telling the rudeness or being arrogant is ok. How dumb is that i was like 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️.. no wonder people think you act like you are better than others.
This claim is not true. Im turkish born norwegian citizen (dont be fooled by my youtube name, im not jewish). I was in Israel 2 years ago. i arrived at ben gurion airport 2am and realised there is no airport hotel (i was supposed to meet rest of my group 5pm, so i had 15hrs to kill). I was advised to take the bus to tel aviv and lodge there for the night. I took the airport bus to tel aviv and had no idea where to go from there. So i asked an Israeli couple from the bus where the nearest hotel is. They told me that i was in the city center and that there are lots of hotels, but they added that they would be happy to host me in their home for the night. To be honest i was suprised. I had a quick though about their offer and accepted it (i would not have accepted if it was a man/men but they were a nice couple of husband and wife. I joined them to their home which was in the city center. They were sooooo hospitable - made me bed, gave me towels and told me i could take a shower if i wanted to etc. In the morning when i woke up, the lady asked what i wanted for breakfast and how i wanted my coffee etc. Soo we had breakfast together and chatted and got to know eachother. After i left their house they even sent me a follow up message to see how i was doing, whether i managed to meet my group etc. Sooo nice people, gave me super good first impression of israelis. And i must say people that i met during my holiday were generally very nice all of them. Soo i think that this colombian tourist was unfortunately very unlucky with people (s)he met...
To a degree every religion thinks they are better the others, To a Christian Christianity is the best, To a Muslim Islam is the Best, And to a Jew Judaism is the best, Does that make me a over all better person then the Muslim or Christian? It depends on my actions Vs. theirs, In our everyday lives what we choose to do, or not do defines us. an atheist can be a wonderful kind human being. As a Jew I do not see myself so much as being "chosen" by G/D, but being a member of a people that "Chose" G/D.
Israel's culture maybe a bit arrogant, but you can say that about many cultures in the world. I heard it said about China, South Korea, and Turkey but also European countries like France and rural Poland. I think it's because of the current bigot Israeli government, which sadly probably isn't going to change, that does all these bad things, that make tourists associate rudeness and arrogance with simply the people who live inside Israel. This view is probably a bit ignorant and naive, I've been in Israel and though the way people behave feels very western it also feels very foreign and maybe that makes people have these generalised asuumptions of a people.
I just heard the news that the families of all 4 victims of horrific Islamic slaughtering in Paris supermarket will not let their sons and brothers to be burred in France, but will laid to rest their beloved ones in the land of Israel, on the ancient Mount of Olives on the foot of eternally Jewish Temple Mount. Dear Israelis, please attend this sad and powerful ceremony of eternal unity of the Jewish people and the Jewish land. From the Mount of Olives, in eternally Jewish East Jerusalem our heroes will guard the land of Israel, even if they are not physically among us, for the generations to come. This is also the message to all our enemies, that the Jewish people will never give up Jerusalem, and the graves of Yoav Hattab , Yohan Cohen who saved a 3-year-old when he fought the terrorist Philippe Braham who always wanted to make aliyah and Michel Saada will be always here to remember the Nation of Israel for this ancient and eternal pledge.
Israel made a offer to the family of the victims ( bury them in Israel because the reason they were killed is for being jewish) and family accepted. what´s the problem ?
That's not apartheid lol. Is Gaza a part of Israel? No, it's not, it's a major threat to Israel's security and Hamas along with other terror organizations are doing all they can to kill, disrupt and ruin the lives of civilians in Israel. We have all the reasons to prevent any sort of weapons from making it into Gaza

I've been to a few countries and the first week, maybe couple of weeks, people usually *seem rude*. Then when you adjust to the *rhythm of life* in a place, people start seeming to be the *most friendly*. I think this is *most true* in ex-Communist countries and Israel, but largely true everywhere. Most Israelis are kind and helpful. If we can really beat religious extremism over the next decade, hopefully the world will be better able to see just how much.
My personal experience in Israel was awful extremely rude men n women I couldn’t believe even the girls in a gay bar were so rude to me when I ask them if I can take the empty chair next to them. At airport also rude no one even smiles seems like depressed people
it's part of the Israeli cultural paradigm to not appear kind or friendly - as a matter of fact it's been clear that the preference is to appear ruthless and hardened outwardly.. you can clearly see all this since Rachel Corrie's death onwards. it doesn't matter who you are...if you're not Israeli, you have no place to expect anything there
The older gentleman in the end seemed almost insulted. Its a legitimate question and of course you can travel to other countries and form opinions about the people living there. Im sure the old man formed an opinion about the interviewer ;)
1. Read the Talmud 2. Listen to Ovadia Ben Yosef 3. Support Beitar Jerusalem. Actually, this video is irrelevant. No matter what is said, the truth will manifest. If you believe you are "Chosen by God", there are consequences of that behavior,. Other people do not like it. Not only do they not like it, but they repeatedly (actually 11 times in recent history) express how much they dislike that in one particular way. If you want a repeat of the past, keep behaving the same way.
I was in Israel one year ago right in the middle of stubbing wave.Rudeness? No way! I had excellent service from Jews and Arab and everyone thank us for visiting Israel. Both jews and arabs specially in trade, food service and tourist business could not be more polite and accommodating. A lot of people on street speak good English and very helpful.Israeli are a bit noisy, a lot of them carry guns in open and have this "ready" look but otherwise very friendly people
People who carry guns are usually on military service but off service, they have to carry their weapons where ever they go. Some people carry weapons because they are ready for any danger. We have constant terror attacks here and we are allways preperd for any senario... (when I was a teenager it was bus explotions, than car ranothers, now mainly stabbing events, and of course entering sheltters in case of misilles attack (especially in the south close to Gaza). You can't really explain this survival mode for someone thst comes from outside, this is our reality and it is not simple, that is why we are more though and seems agresive...
It’s sad to say but I was misstated in Jerusalem by Jewish born in Jerusalem . I think that everyone is the same, all that we need is 💗 not war,no killing just peaceful existence on these life
Your videos are of the "faith in humanity restored" type. Most of the answers people give seem to suggest that Israelis and Palestinians are basically just normal people that have been given unfortunate stereotypes and are trapped in a sad situation because of a few people who claim to act on behalf of them.
It's not rudeness - it's stress from living in a country that is constantly under threat, which causes Israelis hardships on many levels: economically, socially, and so on. People are too preoccupied with daily survival to be smooth and polite. HOWEVER - Israelis know they must help each other to survive, and had that tourist fallen into REAL trouble - she would have discovered Israelis to be very caring and helpful. I speak from personal experience.
I think if they have travelled, they know well enough that you can meet with higher levels of courtesy in some other places. In my opinion Israelis are a fortress people due to the political situation and this contributes to a tough, terse outward image. A lot of them came from cultures (German, Russian for instance) where people are generally not smiley and tripping over themselves to help you. This doesn't mean cultures like that are necessarily bad, just not immediately endearing to tourists. Then on top of that they are a hurt people, well aware of the Israel bashing that goes on, defensive of their country, not wanting to be vulnerable and lay themselves open to attack. I could imagine that having a holocaust background would have intensified mistrust and wariness of foreigners. Mainly I think it is down to having been a country under attack since its creation which didn't lend itself to acquiring courtly manners. I didn't personally find them rude when I was there for 10 days in the 90s. Maybe it has changed since then.
Spent a fair amount of time with Israeli. First I want to say people should be seen as an individual and not as a group. Now, from my experience...if I had to described the majority I encountered... it would be LOUD and ARROGANT. Giving off a sense of entitlement. I had a guesthouse and had many as customers. A small handful were so nice and polite. Others annoyed you to no end with the haggling and neediness. All through the market in this small Indian town, they would be giving shop owners a hard time. In one way they were right because foreigners were always 'over charged' - but man they took it to the next level. Our rooms would sometimes only be selling for 300inr. Rooms were clean, hot water, private baths beautiful view, complimentary chai and room service --- and they would still eat your brain to go lower. I can still hear the sounds of that nasal whining 😣😜
I'm sorry about that, if you visit Iran they would welcome you with hugs and kisses no matter of your religion. I think part of the reason why is because israel is a very new country and people there are still trying to find their identity.
I’ve lived here for a year in a half in Tel Aviv, it is by far the rudest most hostile arrogant country I’ve ever been to. All the Americans I work with feel the same.
I'm actually autistic. These Zionist people are not. I'm very open and talk a lot, I have other people in my family who are artistic that are the opposite. Edited to add I'm not saying everybody interviewed in the video was a zionist. But I could definitely tell a few of them are.

That was quite insightful. Perhaps if more people were this intellectually honest and culturally aware things could be better.

I worked at an israeli company for a couple years as a non jew. People were very welcoming, warm, funny, and straightforward. BUT i did get a sense of underlying exclusivity. It was never in your face but always under the surface. Like they were all part of a secret society with a secret handshake.

I am an Israeli that lives in the US for several years. I live in downtown Chicago
....I feel that I can answer some of the questions, and this is my opinion
Israelis are rude aggressive loud pushy aren't polite and they do think that they are better then everyone else
Why?
.It is hard to explain and I feel that with time it even got worse. I wish it was not like that but it does.
I feel that in Chicago people are very polite nice and respectful and I love it.
Now every coin has two sides.
I feel that in Israel people are warm and open that leads them to be more direct and everyone is "in your business"e
In the US everyone is keeping there business for them self
Now here is why.
1)
Israel was formed very quickly when immigrants came from all over the world were everyone brought his
culture from where he lived before, was very proud of it and thought that this is the way it should be.
This creates an ethnical competition everyone tries to prove that they are better
. and the behavior that remains after this fusion is very aggressive
2)
The Jewish mother wants her son/daughter to be a doctor and tells all the time that he/r is the best .
3)
Israelis have a huge problem, they hate to feel cheated and especially that they are "suckers" this fear is very strong, stronger then anywhere else.
In the US people are very polite and nice, but it is very shallow and people are not very warm,
If you do not mind your own business you may find yourself in deep troubles
Where I live,it is very nice but 20 min from here to the south side of Chicago, it is a real zoo of drugs and violence
In Israel every place is safe
The US is huge so they have to have strict rules and regulations the individual is not important as the country and the law.
Israel is a small country that should make rules and regulations but the government is doing a poor job. The individual is more important the the country

Dutch people are also seen as rude by outsiders because of our directness.
Interesting.
+NebulaBlackF
Yes.
+BiGSH0TROB Apparently germans are also seen this way. Especially about being so direct.
Otherwise, I have never met a more kind people and I've traveled a lot.
mr. nobody Zagreb Interesting, where are you from if I may inquire?
Zagreb, Croatia would be my guess..

Calling yourself "God's chosen people" means you think God loves you more than others, which makes you believe you are better than those which are not His chosen people. So why do Jews think that they are better than everyone else? Because their religion tells them so.

As a tourist in Paris, Rome, and multiple American cities and other destinations, i have NEVER seen this question posed of anyone other than Israeli Jews. Double standards, as per usual.

Ive seen it posed to french. French are genrally thought of as a rude arrogant people

I don't know about Israelis, but as a Punjabi atheist, Jews have been very kind to me and most people.
SlightlyVisible I didn't get why it is a duty for American Christians to protect that land
Abdurrahman Köksal
Christianity identifies itself as the natural successor to ancient Judaism.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
Many Christians feel a sort of responsibility to protect the nation of Israel.

Do you even know the definition of Apartheid?
The sheer ignorance oozing out of people nowadays is appalling.
Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in South Africa enforced through legislation by the National Party government from the 80's through the early 90's,
under which the rights, associations, and movements of the MAJORITY black inhabitants were curtailed and Afrikaner WHITE MINORITY rule was maintained.
Try again. Read a book.
tkach21
Actually its you that needs to read a book Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in South Africa enforced through legislation by the National Party governments from 1948 to 1994.

Being delusional is an essential aspect of Israeli culture.
I'm surprised this is the first time you've been recognized. :-)
I don't think it has to do with the 'chosen people' or being closed for outsiders or because they feel superior, it
might be the case, but Koreans and Japanese also believe they are the best in general and they are one of the most polite and friendly people usually.

Arabs are Well know for being hostipatble to people persians and Turks too isrealis is a different story they are not warm like the other people in middle east
And remember corey Saïd they are very open to foreighners in Ramallah and Amman
mourad 227 Israelis and Arabs are both hospitable. those are good traits that we share, but we are also pushy, aggressive, and steadfast when it comes to business. ever tried bartering with a middle eastern? i have bartered with both Israelis and Arabs in Israel and Judea and Samaria, try negotiating the price of merchandise with an Arab and you might get an idea of why its so hard to negotiate in politics as well.
but hey, i love that about us :)
Beni Habibi hahahha isrealis are no way no way hospitable like the arabs it has nothing to do for them being jewish no its the way they have been raised with the idea that the world hates them.

Maarten van Rossem Lezingen go and watch the speech of former zionist Benjamin freedman explain everything
Could you give me the source of this news? Because I didn t find anything about jewish victims from the terrorist attack in Paris
of course Netanyahu wasted no time in rushing off to Paris in order to sign up more people to join the zionist project in the middle east!
Israel made a offer to the family of the victims ( bury them in Israel because the reason they were killed is for being jewish) and family accepted. what´s the problem ?
Israel operates the world's largest open air prison called the Gaza Strip. South Africa ended apartheid, but Israel still has it.
Aince when does Gaza even belong to Isral?
רבקה lol you are aprethied hush
That's not apartheid lol. Is Gaza a part of Israel? No, it's not, it's a major threat to Israel's security and Hamas along with other terror organizations are doing all they can to kill, disrupt and ruin the lives of civilians in Israel. We have all the reasons to prevent any sort of weapons from making it into Gaza
@@aleph3566 Israel was and is a threat to the sovereignty of the Palestinian people. Occupation by force is an invasion. Israelis are the threat. I say that as a lover of Freedom, not as a supporter of any religion. Israel was written into existence without consent by a ruthless, unscrupulous banking magnate and it should not have been.
um sure that's nice and all but what does that have to do with Gaza
what that colombian tourist said sounds like french people
Exactly what i was thinking lol
I've watched a lot of these videos and what is missing from every single one of them is kindness. It's good for them that they all found each other.
you might be the reason why theyre rude
You are disgusting hater and a coward

Are you serious? The Bible, the Torah - the holy books of the Jews tells the very many mistakes of the Jewish nation. And the Jews learning from childhood. You can say whatever you want to but it's a fact that the Jews never had a problem of admitting their mistakes.
"She gets wherever she wants" LOL that's what I'm talking about!
Well she is Colombian 😉😆
I've been to a few countries and the first week, maybe couple of weeks, people usually *seem rude*. Then when you adjust to the *rhythm of life* in a place, people start seeming to be the *most friendly*. I think this is *most true* in ex-Communist countries and Israel, but largely true everywhere.
Most Israelis are kind and helpful. If we can really beat religious extremism over the next decade, hopefully the world will be better able to see just how much.
Stop the cap. I ve been in a lot of country. Israel is the worst because of the we are the god people
actually atheists are more rude ,just my experience
It's the education and later on their media, and being Israeli and Hebrew
Nationalistic and religious, this is more than anywhere in the world.
My personal experience in Israel was awful extremely rude men n women
I couldn’t believe even the girls in a gay bar were so rude to me when I ask them if I can take the empty chair next to them. At airport also rude no one even smiles seems like depressed people
Don’’t lie , Israelis always laughing
Said "Najef Ali", who one can only surmise is warm fuzzy feeling of love towards the Holy Land given to the Jewish people by G-d.
Your videos are great, fascinating diversity of people and opinions
Very interesting stuff. We need people doing this kind of thing all over the world to spread knowledge and understanding of other cultures.
it's part of the Israeli cultural paradigm to not appear kind or friendly - as a matter of fact it's been clear that the preference is to appear ruthless and hardened outwardly.. you can clearly see all this since Rachel Corrie's death onwards. it doesn't matter who you are...if you're not Israeli, you have no place to expect anything there
The older gentleman in the end seemed almost insulted.
My family has a lot of autistic people. They tend to be very honest which can be confused with rudeness.
I'm actually autistic. These Zionist people are not. I'm very open and talk a lot, I have other people in my family who are artistic that are the opposite. Edited to add I'm not saying everybody interviewed in the video was a zionist. But I could definitely tell a few of them are.
@@Pugetwitch You are not jewish but still you have fantasmes about zionism lol it's telling everything.
To the guy who said it was a stupid question:
That statement in itself is arrogant and insensitive to the tourist.
First impressions are also a reality in this world. That guy being interviewed negates feelings.
Please see my following response....
I do not accept that, its a stupid question. We're not rude. Other people are just stupid. I've traveled the world and I don't judge anybody.
Hahah right..
I've been considering visiting Israel for quite some time, kinda having second thoughts after watching this. I tend to ask people where to find things etc rather look it up so I reckon I'd have a hard time over there. Pity
Bruh you'll have zero trouble asking people in English in Tel Aviv.
Just look for youngsters we're basically every corner.

The aim of this video was to try convince people Israelis are terrible people. Family friends of mine travel there once a year and they aren't Jews. They just love Israel and Israeli people. This holds true for both sides. This is what there are taught at and early age. But it never used to be that way.
Everything changed when the region was flooded with European Jews who had different ideologies than the Jews who were living in harmony with others in the region.
