This was THE slow jam of the mid-80s. I believe that Glenn is now and still an active principal in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I thought he is now the President of St. Louis h.s.?
@@mj95b ele é presidente da saint louis school
@@mj95bTwo NFL quarterbacks went to that school: Marcus Mariota and Tua Tagovailoa.
This just brought me back to the mall in the 1980s.
LOL. Spencer's gift shop staff rolling their eyes at the sound system while the girls in the bagel kiosk in the center of the aisle sway to the groove.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅@@tamcon72
it brought me back to my nightmares
Imagine being in high school and having a hit record!
Glenn used some of the money he earned from music to achieve his dream-PhD in Education. In the same interview I saw years ago, he was discovered at a talent contest.
He's only 53, but retired at 37 to become a teacher. He now rubs a school (above the principal) in his home state of Hawaii. I thoughtbhus last name was Greek, but apparently, he's of Portuguese ancestry.
@johncampbell756 Yes, his parents were portuguese immigrants like Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt although Nuno was born in Portugal, he is from the Azores' islands.
I think if I rubbed a school I'd get arrested. 😅 And yes, I know you meant runs.
@dirtylibtards LOL. I hate typing on a phone. And trying to finish before the video ends.
Glenn Medeiros had a #1 hit in the U.S. in 1990 with the song, "She Ain't Worth It," featuring a rap by Bobby Brown. If you like late-1980s and early-1990s R&B pop and new jack swing, you'll like that one.
Yes, and they need to get to the rest of Bobby’s catalog as well. It’s hard to believe they haven’t gotten to him yet.
Anybody else get Donny Osmond vibes watching and listening to Glenn?
She ain’t worth it is part of my summer of 1990 playlist. 😊 My wife says she’s never heard that song till she met me and now has to hear it all the time. 😂
@@Myau79 in my opinion, this song was Medeiros best, by far.
@ronnix23 At first, no, but now that you mentioned it, yeah
Glenn was 16 years old when he recorded this track. His daughter is so sweet on Tik Tok
I love following Lyric. Glenn makes a lot of cameos.
É tão fofa que me bloqueou em suas rede sociais ... 😔

Glenn Medeiros has a daughter named Lyric who auditioned for American Idol last year.
I always feel so blessed to be a Boomer and have grown up with the music of the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The music was all about fun, goofiness, or love.
Great song by an adorable young man!! I remember when this came this out!! So beautiful!!❤🔥🔥
Ha, I laugh at myself and the memories. I use to love this song. Haven't heard it in decades. Awesome!
This song. A station manager from KZZP in Phoenix was in Hawaii and heard this on the radio and got permission to bring it back to Phoenix. He played it on air and the switchboard "literally" lit up like a Christmas tree asking the name of the artist. The song was the most requested song that year in Phoenix, soon the nation got a hold of it.
Haven't heard this in ages. J & A would love The Jets, a 70's family band (like Osmonds & Jackson 5). So Many hits to choose from: "Crush On You" - "You Got It All" - "Make It Real" - "Rocket 2 U"
Yes you got it all is a great song
I think Jay would really like Rocket 2 U.
I believe they were an 80's band. They were based in minneapolis if I remember correctly.
@@keithroberts4952 - Yeah, you're right, 80's. They say the memory's the first thing to go, but I can still remember when I had all my teeth and hair. 😅😅
@@RobertoSantana61 Yup, memory is the first thing to go. They have already reacted to Make it Real lol.
This was a big hit, back in the day, it was a cover of a song by George Benson. Medeiros was born in Hawaii, he's of Portuguese descent. His name is pronounced Me-dear-os.
I always heard it pronounced Ma-day-ross on the radio.
@@RobertoSantana61 Muh-Dare-Rōs is how they pronounced it on the radio where I'm from, with emphasis on the 2nd syllable.
I agree with Bill. I’m from Kaua’i, same as Glenn, and that’s how we say that last name… Muh-Dare-Rōs.
@@BillGraper Yes, I've heard Americans pronounce it like that. In the UK, it was always pronounced Meh-Deer-Ross
@@BillGraper correct, and accent is on the second syllable.
Gosh…the memories and the feels. I think I was 13-14 the first time I heard this. I was obsessed with this song.
Hawaii's own son!! Aloha from Hawaii!!
Glenn is a son of Hawaii. We saw him at the Waikiki Shell and a few times at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki with Frank Delima (one of Hawaii's funniest comics). He is now the principal of Saint Louis School in Honolulu (home of some of the great quarterbacks that went on to play in the NFL). His daughter was in season 21 of the American idol. Another boy from Hawaii does good. Aloha!🌴🍍
Saw him at the Hale Koa also in the mid 90's.
With Glenn and Yvonne Elliman, Hawaii was producing magical voices much longer before the very famous Bruno Mars came along.
I was 13 when this came out. Turned every teen to goo & played at every highschool dance.
🇬🇧 This was a HUGE hit for Glenn back in the 80s. Not heard it in ages, this is a blast from the past..... Aah, memories. 🎙️🎼❤
My wife and I saw Glenn Medeiros at a luau at the Hale Koa hotel in Honolulu in the mid 90's. He was the host of the Luau. We were surprised, but instantly recognized the song as soon as he started singing it. We then realized, Oh, you're that Glenn Medeiros. We still have a CD autographed by him at the luau. Thanks for the reaction, brought back some memories.
Glenn e sua filha continuam tbém como anfitriões no hale koa
Glenn Medeiros owns this song.
You must not have heard the original by George Benson....He killed it!
@@themajicman745 George Benson was great! This cover by Glenn Medeiros was unnecessary.
@@MaxDeVoe Except for all of the money the songwriters received.
Glenn Madeiros was better than George Benson's version
Oh my! I was 17 years old when this hit the charts. I had been out with a boy a couple of times and realised we weren’t meant to be. I hate saying this, but he wouldn’t accept it. He kept writing me poems and this song. Having said that as cheesy as I thought it was at the time, he really did deserve someone wonderful for putting himself out there. A blast from the past indeed x
The eclectic guitar in a soft rock love song is awesome! Good call.
This was a soul song done smoothly by George Benson.
This was a big hit in Australia, I remember singing it in my school days! Happy times.
Me too back in the late 80's.
I use to wait for this video to be played on, MTV and VH1, back in the day. ❤
I am SO glad you have finally discovered this one! This song took the scenic route to the top of the charts. Glenn recorded his cover of George Benson's song on a local record label in Hawaii in 1986 and it became popular locally. It did not hit the US charts until a DJ vacationing in Hawaii in1986 heard it and took it back to HIS local radio station. It was on the US charts by late 1987, I believe. IN THE MEANTIME, the song had become popular in other countries. In 1986 and 1987, I was living in Costa Rica. We had a few radio stations that played mostly US top 40 hits, mixed in with Spanish pop music. They would play their top ten every week - not an official national chart; just based on local popularity. I remember hearing this song debut and move up the charts, then fall off. Not long afterwards, some latino musician recorded a Spanish version which became wildly popular for a while and then fell off the charts. Then I started hearing Glenn's English version again - as it moved up the charts in Casey Kasem's American Top 40, which was broadcast in Costa Rica every week. So I got to hear this song several months before most US listeners. It is always a treat - thank you for picking it today!
Glenn was only 16 in this video. He had duets with Bobby Brown and ray Parker Jr. a few years after this was a hit. How about some rockin songs from Night Ranger like "You Can Still Rock In America" or "Don't Tell Me You Love Me". Thanks. 😎
Yes, and "Sentimental Street", which is somewhere between ballad and rocker.
This takes me back to my senior year of high school and it was my song with my bf at the time. Ahh memories
A VERY popular song back in 1987. A one hit wonder.
His daughter auditioned for American Idol last year.
Fez esse ano, passou pra segunda fase e foi eliminada
Actually had another hit called 'she ain't worth it' with Bobby Brown.
@@burt7104 sim, mas eu tava falando da lyric, filha dele ...

I grew up with his music so I remember when this song came out. He was a cutie.
Check out "Long and Lasting Love" by Glenn. It's the favorite for my wife and me.
I remember listening to this in High School. Great song.
I bought his album which has this song on it back in the 80's when it hit number 1 and I still have this vinyl album. The 80's was the best decade for music and alternative style. Listen to 'A Good Heart: by Fergal Sharkey it was played a lot here back then here Northern Ireland 🍀🍀🎤🎧
Wow, I haven't heard this for so long time. I remember liking it a lot. Thank you it brings a lot of memories back to me 👍. It was in the eighties. ♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
I think the song "What About Me" by Moving Pictures would be a great reaction video.
I've been recommending this for years.
Thank you for this!!! Part of this get stuck in my head all the time, but I can't get to the point of words or artist.
Nice! Watching it now@@seanswinton6242
Great song. We never got it in England, I first heard it when I moved to Australia
I've been requesting they react to this one forever now.
You guys just made my whole night. This was my number one song in high school to melt me into a puddle of goo - and now 35 years later it is still doing the same. And I can sing along to every single word. THANK YOU for this. Btw his last name is pronounced Med - eer - os. Big hugs from Canada
Make a video on "U2 - I still haven't found what i'm looking for "
As we age we can be gifted with the ability and knowledge to !help younger people in what we know and were good at when we were younger.Don’t throw away what you know, teach others like you probably do, and keep up the guitar, find people at your level to Jam with Jay, or people who can help you. We never should stop learning. I’m 69 this summer and would love to continue music and education.
PATRICK SWAYZE - " She's Like The Wind " (Official HD Video) ft.Wendy Faser ,,, back in 1987 this song came out and became one of the decades most beautiful and romantic songs of all time with Patrick and Wendy on vocals, youguys gonna love this song it's got so much Heart and Soul 🎹
I was a teenager when this was out. I was so in love with him. ❤😂
Most romantic moment of my young life was someone singing to me while we danced to this song.
An old favourite, one of the first songs I remember thinking of as romantic when I was a kid.
I heard this at every Filipino dinner/party back in the day (because someone would always bring out a Karaoke machine!) I swear I heard it so much-I thought it was the Philippine national anthem!
Also the version of George Benson is very beautiful!
It was the original. Benson did this is I. 1985.
They've already reacted to the George Benson original
Glenn "Med-deer-Oh-s" was a boy band all on his own. This song was big & romantic & loved in the day. I bet he was a heart-throb, he was just a little too young for me (as we were all interested in "older men" & he was right about my age - but this SONG cover by him was GREAT & beautiful!) - & yes, WITH the soaring guitar.
Hey Jay and Amber if you like Carole King and brass instruments listen to "Jazzman" fantastic and also "Hard Rock Cafe" you will absolutely love these two bangers!!! Please listen to these you won't regret it! Everyone who loves Carole King and that's everybody loves these 2 songs. You won't regret it!
Liked him the first time I heard this song in '87. Good smooth voice, with a nice range. The whole CD is pretty good.
This song should've been a bigger hit. It stalled at #12 in 1987. It's a great love song, and was very popular on a radio program in Cleveland called "Lovelite."
Wow, you're talking about a young man singing a song & sounding like a grownup... You really have to check out LeAnn Rimes' song "How Do I Live"!!! A grown woman sang it, and LeAnn did it at AGE 14!!! She sounded more mature than the original.
I prefer Trisha Yearwood's version from 'Con Air'
It was a huge hit. Didn't resonate with the US listeners so much. Number 1 in Canada, UK, France , Ireland, Spain, top 10 in 6 other European charts . In the UK it was the 6th highest grossing single of 1988 . Huge hit here. Number one for 4 weeks.
All that from winning a singing contest on his local radio station in Hawaii where he sung this!
@@bonnielee78 I don't. LeAnn's voice is so much better.
Even though he was a 1 hit wonder... this song by Glenn Medeiros is still a classic romantic track.
She Ain't Worth It was actually a bigger hit for him than this one.
@@gotham61 Only in the USA
It was originally recorded by American singer and guitarist George Benson for his 1985 studio album 20/20 and was released as a single in Europe only in 1985.
Awe. This brings me way back. My husband made me a mix tape when we were dating with this song on it.
Glenn was 16 when he recorded this song in the mid to late 80s. He is a highschool principle now.
I recall this song back in the late 80's and have totally forgotten about it. Such an impact it had on my life.
Yes, this is originally a George Benson tune; hopefully you can take in Benson’s original version of this and The Greatest, too! Glenn Madeiros (ma-DEER-oes) left behind his musical career to become an educator. Before that, he had a huge duet with Bobby Brown called She Ain’t Worth It, a much more upbeat tune.
Sunday evenings in England, a large number of radio stations used to play love songs, this was a massive hit.
This song came out the year I graduated High School. Definitely brings me back to my girlfriend at the time. It was also used in the soap opera Santa Barbara.
Great voice for Teen. I remember dancing to this at prom.
I haven't heard this song in years and still know the lyrics! Not really my kind of music but this song was great!
Great love songs - you have to do I Should Have Known Better by Jim Diamond. Huge number one hit in 1984 around the world. He also did a live version just before he passed which was incredibly emotional. Keep the hits coming.
Glenn is from Hawaii, island ❤
Fantastic love song. I was really surprised this was his only huge hit.
This brought me back to the mall and watching Ferris Beuhler, and Karate Kid with my buddies and my girl.. at the drive in!
I first heard this in 1999 when i was 14
I still remember beginning of channel, when Jay said" I wish I could sing like Barry to you", and amber said"I wish you could too"🤣🤣I'm og🤠🥰
Lots of classic 80s songs that were somewhat one hit wonder. Try”one more try” by Timmy t.. or how about “hands to heaven” by breathe. As well as “back for good” by take that. Awesome ones to try..
I can't tell you how many young women I knew described their perfect date based on the imagery from this music video after it came out. The walking on the beach hand in hand, horseback riding on the beach, sunset themes and so forth. Simple video conveying a perfect romantic interlude. Great slow song to dance to as well. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
Ahh, takes me back to my teenage years and slow dancing at the local disco 😂
I still have the 45 record of this song. ❤
So do I. I think the label was Amherst, or something like that
My favorite version of this song.
Awesome song ❤❤❤❤❤
Every time I watched ya reaction I ski the talking part cause I just wanna vibe to the song frrr💯
Oh this was my anthem at the age of 7. I was so in love with him as well. I knew the song from when George Benson had sung it a couple of years previously, but was all girly loved up with this version ❤
Is biltful music 😇💜🌎🎸🎧🎵🎵🎵
Ahh teenaged me loved this song!
You guys rock your awesome ❤
We've been softening up J slowly but surely.....
Oh wow haven't heard this one in a long time.. I would marry him 😂😂😂😂 such a crush back in the day, him hanging on my wall 😂😂
A lovely cover by Glen hopefully you give George Benson the original singer of Nothing's Gonna Change My Love.
" Lonely won't leave me alone" ; "Watching over you" ; "A fool's affair" ; "Long and lasting love(Once in a lifetime)".
If you like this one you’ll love “Nothin My Love Can’t Fix” by Joey Lawrence
Woah!
Glenn (from Kauai) sang (and won in 1986) this song as part of a talent show in Hawaii called "Brown Bags to Stardom". Glenn recorded this back in 1987.
Written by the amazing Michael Masser and Gerry Goffin.
6th grade dance memories flooding back to me
Oh man I forgot about this classic adding to my sing song playlist asap
Please play Ricky Nelson “Traveling Man”. Love watching you two and the music you play!! Thanks Rose
I haven't thought of this singer/song in decades, but he hit the chorus and it all came back. Are there any Breathe fans here? I would love to see a reaction to Hands To Heaven, or any of their songs. The 80's knew how to do romantic.
Amber n Jay can we have some more GEORGE BENSON please it's been more than a minute 😊 with so many hits to choose from an Amazing 🎸 player with a Wonderful Voice 😊❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Glenn is more of a ballad artist. Has had many albums, sings in other languages too. The recird company put Glenn and BOBBY BROWN together for his 2nd album and had a couple of dance r& b hits. She Ain't Worth It is worth reacting to. Glenn wasn't happy with the mysic industry machine and biwed out before he had a "ME TOO" story happen to him, but he continued recording independently. He is now the Dean of studies of a University in his home state of Hawaii. Keep reacting to his songs. His voice us amazing.
Comedically I've heard this song so many times but because this came out when I was 9.. I've never seen the video and had no idea what he looked like. If I'm not mistaken Glenn's the ceo of St Louis high. Maybe that's why the school is now known for its music and arts as well as its long standing football reputation.
Wow, haven't heard this one in eons! Loved it back in the day. I recall Medeiros also later teamed-up with The Jets on the Karate Kid III soundtrack in a song called "Under Any Moon", which I recommend you guys also check out! ;)
If you watch the film up the song takes on a whole new meaning 😢❤
One of our great singer, song writer, story tellers from our 808 (Hawaii). My chance you can find time to share the music of Josh Tatofi such as, I Don't Need You (big time horns), Slow Dance, and Have You Seen the Rain, I know your followers will enjoy it and Jay and Amber your going to love it!!! ❤❤❤
It's pronounced Mah-Dear-Us ! And I love the way he sings this !!! His daughter tried out for American Idol last season !!
This was the first single I ever bought
Loved this song. His name is pronounced Muh-deer-os with o like in hold.

Omg I was 10 when this came out! LMAO! I use to sing it in the mirror in the name of whatever crush I had at that time 😂 You two branch out in every direction and I love it! - Kristin
This song had my friends and I in a stranglehold back in the day. Loved it!
Two fun facts ... Glenn teamed up with none other than Mr. Bobby Brown for his one and only #1 smash hit in 1991, "She Ain't Worth It."
When that song reached, Glenn became only the second artist to be from Hawai'i to make it to #1. The first one was Yvonne Elliman with her #1 disco smash hit off the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack, "If I Can't Have You."
Hi guys! I know this is off topic but I'd like to suggest a couple songs: Big Log by Robert Plant (Led Zep) and the song Killing the Blues by Robert Plant & Allison Krauss. I'm sure you'll like both of them.
Haven't heard this for AGES...to the point that I'd forgotten all about it. Strange that I knew all the words without fault lol! I'm pretty sure it stayed in the top 10 for quite a few weeks in the UK and it was definitely on the radio all the time, which is no doubt why the lyrics are etched on my brain.
