Your dress is gorgeous. Yes very princess like as it should be on your wedding day. Mom and I made my wedding dress, because of my very pale skin and bright burgundy/Red hair I cannot wear a lot of white it makes me look sickly. As it was my 2nd marriage I could not wear white anyway lol. I went with antic gold crape satin with chiffon over skirt. I designed the dress and Mom stitched it for me as I was working full time at a call centre, which meant I could sit and sew 600 flowers adding rice shaped ivory pearls to each daisy petals with a round pearl in the centre. 3 weeks before the weeding I got very sick and lost 3 dress sizes and we did not have time to unpick the seams to take the dress in, so on the day I was literally sewn into my dress because of this I got the hair dresser add in hair extensions so that my hair covered the back of the dress with the added help of the vail it covered the whole of the back of my dress. My poor husband had to carefully cut the threads holding my dress onto me😹😹I looked as if I had stepped out of the 14th century. I think brides should make their own wedding dress, I made my own because the dress a fell in love with was over $10,000 and there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money for a dress that’s only worn once. Mom and I worked long hours on my dress and I’m soo pleased as it brought us closer together and it was the one area that we worked well together. I also made the bridesmaids dresses in burgundy lace as well as the same gold fabric as the under layer from my wedding dress. Because both ladies were totally different in style and personality I let them choose their own style for the dress as it was an outfit that they could wear to any decent night club or dinner party in the future. I paid for their dresses as a thank you gift for standing up with me on my Day.
Adorable! What a great heirloom piece to pass down. If u have not done so already please put a made by hand label , maybe put what material it is and the year😊
@@jmchau thank you so much. How lovely that your cousin made her own too. That's exactly how I felt - I got exactly what I wanted rather than relying on current trends or affordability 😊
that is so dreamy to be able to know what design you want and how to make it yourself and to enjoy the fruit of your labor in the end is truly something to behold. i was a little bit disappointed that the images of the gown were not as clear to see all the details as i had anticipated but from what i could see it was a splendid bridal gown indeed!
@@1daySomeday thank you very much. I know what you mean. Photographing details on wedding dresses are notoriously difficult with the contrast. I think the interior shots showed the details up best. There are a few extra photos on my website blog post that shows up some details a bit better too.
You did a beautiful job on your wedding dress. It's gorgeous 🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏

Thanks so much. Oh that's a great idea! I'll certainly do that ❤
Very pretty. I have a cousin who made her own dress and she was so happy to have exactly what she wanted.

I think the nature of a wedding dress is princess-like, as I had the same feeling about mine!
It looks beautiful, congratulations! X
Thank you so much. I guess it is the one undisputed opportunity we get as adults where we can dress like a princess 😊
