I taught myself to sew by making clothes for my dolls. My mother provided fabric, I used my grandmother's sewing machine, which only did straight stitch, not even reverse! Starting off by making small versions is a great way to understand how garments are constructed. I'm 71 now, I don't sew much any more, but I made my own wedding dress, business suits, winter coats, and clothes for my children. It's been a useful skill to have. Loved the video!

I love these videos! I lived in Japan for 8 years and I recognize the silhouettes I often saw on the streets of Tokyo. I enjoy listening to these videos and picking up the language i learned while living there. I call my language skills - ‘vacation Japanese’; menus, hotel, taxis. But I love picking up the design/pattern making vocab. I’ve subscribed and will look for more videos. Thank you!
