- Sugar Cookie Recipe
3 sticks of butter
2 C sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
5 C All Purpose Flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
Cream together the butter and the sugar until smooth.
Beat in eggs and vanilla
Stir in bpowder, flour and salt.
Chill for 1 hr
Preheat oven to 400
Roll out dough onto floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
Cook for 6-8 minutes
Let cool completely to decorate.

Thanks Bri for being honest about life with 6 children. I get tired of seeing these so called perfect homesteading mom's. Actually I sit here and laugh, because I know it's nonsense. I'm 63 years old and know the truth. I've raised mine and they weren't home schooled, the only food preservation I ever did was making freezer meals on my day off, and it took years for me to come up with that idea, oh and I started freezing pancakes before they were available in the grocery stores. Only because a friend shared the idea with me. Lol you're doing a great job Bri and I'm so proud of you and Arthur. You never said anything negative about him or allowed anyone else to, you remained loyal, faithful and hopeful all that time. Look at how your relationship is growing back together now, without ugly words to come back and kick you in the heart. You've shown patients, compassion and respect in your relationship and it's in my heart and prayers that you 2 will get back together someday soon. You're so smart to go slow and work everything out too. PS. Enjoy your children while you can Bri, mine are long gone with lives of their own now. My husband's gone and I'm so alone. All I have are those memories most of the time. Love them, hug them, kiss them, laugh with them and cry with them when they need you to, and most of all show them the love of God and Jesus in you as you walk out your faith daily, because the world will do anything and everything to destroy it!
I would give anything to have never allowed my children to go to college! Choose their school wisely, it would be so much better to have put them in a trade school or better yet teach them a trade so they would always have a way of making a living.

I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate this video. I’m commenting to this video with tears in my eyes. From a mom of four children seven and under and also babysitting my brothers newborn six days a week. I have to admit I do get caught up in the social media “perfection “ and sometimes I struggle with being fully present with my children. Bri, I have been watching you for a long time...I get exhausted just by watching everything that you and Art have to do to keep your children entertained. The best part is when you have your "chaos" because it's when everyone is enjoying each other's company, loving on one another and just being a perfectly beautiful family. One of the things I most enjoy about you two as parents is that you do things for your children with a purpose. Be that the purpose is their nutrition or emotional well-being or academics, it is simply joyful to watch, like I said you do things with a purpose and in my opinion that makes you great parents....I am especially enjoying your videos in this home as it feels better suited to your family's needs and yes, I acknowledge what you have said in the past about the farm, that "it feels like home", yet look at everything you've accomplished....home is where a house is full of love, community and support for one another. This video sums up the reason I have been consuming so many of your videos for the last few weeks. I hardly ever watch Vlog style RUclips content but I really love yours. I have seven kids and I am pregnant with baby number eight and I am so tired of the aesthetic Centered content that is on all of the social media platforms, which promotes a very false expectation of life, and can very easily create a sense of either failure or discontentment. When I watch your stuff, I feel normal, lol. So thank you for keeping it real and just showing us how you do life at your house while we are all free to do things our own unique way while we each navigate our own strengths and weaknesses. Hugs!

I'm 52 and I wish I had someone tell my husband this when we were raising Littles.
Every time we went over to someone's house it was magazine (there wasn't internet or social media) perfect and nothing was out of order so it was expected that is should be that way at our house too. It would have saved a lot of heartache and stress. I learned raising our second set of kids(we had 11 yrs of infertility) that life is messy and beautiful. Being older, more experienced parents helped a lot too.
Life is too short to worry about all the little stuff.

Hey Bri, I am a sixty year old man 16 year military veteran, 33 years as military and civilian nurse, son husband x2 and father. 17 years as a hospice nurse!
Not one person ever wished they could have worked more however most folks wished they had more memories and that the family had memories of them. If you wait for the best time to get married, have children, buy a house buy a farm, start a garden, volunteer for big brothers or sisters ect ect ect. THAT Day will never come. The perfect instagram or Pinterest day will never come. Did anyone ever have fun dressed in all white in a white room having fun? My memories are football in the mud, siding in the orange dirt of baseball field, boots full of lake water while fishing, cake and ice cream covered children head to toe. True story 11 years old my mom dressed me in, wait for it, yes you are right White! and sent me outside to play while we got ready for church. She came out and was very upset I was dirty. She said look at you, you can't go like that I asked her what did you expect sending a boy outside in white anyway maybe next time send me out in blue black or brown.
The running theme is memories fun and dirt that is what a boy, brother, sone, father and grandfather remembers. So yes Bri you are so beyond right. The best day is today do what you can love your family rejoice in your family remember your family those are where dreams aspirations success and memories come from. Next year I hope you can find 365 best days and if they are not just pretend.

Balance bikes are so cool and I am glad they make them now. Wish they did when we were all kids!!! I did have a tryke bike though that I think helped me get on a bike without training wheels and go, but the set up was so different from a bike.

That's the real and wonderful life with kids! I made a gingerbreadhouse with my two little grandkids and it was a big mess but it brought us so much joy and memories! And I baked christmascookies with my youngest daughter and we tried to decorate the cookies like we saw it on Pinterest... it was fun but we decided after we decorated some cookies (it take so much time to decorate them "perfectly"😅) that the cookies taste amazing without "perfect" decoration.

There is no perfect. We raised four kids and now have 10 grandkids and we never strive for perfection. We just enjoy each other and have fun. And making cookies is one of the best holiday traditions! We do that every year and I’ve been making the same sugar cookie recipe I was 11 years old and I’m 63 now. It was fun to see someone else throw the dry in with the wet before mixing it I do the same thing! Guess what they always come out great !

Rosacea is linked with autoimmune and highly linked to inflammation. Maybe look into a carnivore diet for 30 days as a reset. Honestly it has helped both my husband and I as well as our kiddos in so many ways.
I did all sorts of elimination diets. None of them worked. I don’t have rosacea any more it went away on its own. The skin care soothed it though and I can’t say that for any other I tried.

I love the saying perfect chaos, it's pretty much my house and there's only me and a teenage son. I would much rather see content from people who don't have everything in perfect order or those that don't have the Pinterest perfect life.
You started this channel at a time in my life where I felt pretty much like you did but mine was for medical reason, I spent 3 month losing a vast amount of sight and you helped show me that it's OK to not be prefect but in actual fact you can just be present from one minute to the next and you didn't need to know what lay ahead for the next week and that was perfectly fine. My boys are 18, 16, and 15 and they all still want to do the tradition we have of baking cookies and making candy together with my sister's kids. It has never been pinterest perfect, we just carried the tradition down from our mom when we were growing up. The memories that we make are so much more important than being perfect.

No such thing as perfect! Your home is your home and it is beautiful. I decorate and keep my place the way I want to.. not how anyone else says.
Every one of those cookies ARE perfect. A timestamp that every participant will cherish as the years pass. The gifts are fun, but the traditions and memories are meaningful, and what sustain and carry us as the years pass.
I've switched too the cheap paper plates on holders and the plastic boats with paper liners and bought 4 each microwaveable plates and plastic plates that was 50% off and the soups and yes plastic forks and spoons. I just wash everything as I go for easy cleanups . And a set of each single section and double sectional containers for meal preps and yes some are frozen meals. It's always nice too have easy meals at hand. Today will be breakfast burritos. I have a small bowl container for slicing,shredding,potato shoestrings, and it's so nice too have for Apple season I shred my apple. Then add Carmel sauce or microwaveable mug cupcakes and brownies. Thank you so much for the "wrinkling of the parchment paper" tip - I never have tried that before or even heard of it. I did learn to bake from my Mom long ago, but for some odd reason, she never used parchment paper, so I didn't know much about it until I was long married and doing all my own cooking/baking. You are an awesome Mom and I love watching your channel. I was only able to have one child, my daughter, who is all grown up and married with two beautiful daughters, because I had long battled endometriosis, which made it next to impossible to ever conceive, and it got so bad that I had to have a hysterectomy shortly after I'd turned 40, but God did bless us with a beautiful daughter and it's exciting watching her and her hubby raise them in a Godly home full of love and laughter.

I saw a commercial the other day about parchment paper. They make some now that doesn't curl and roll when you lay it down.
i played in the garage and basement when I was young. Ended up twice with cracked chin and stitches. Beware thats a terrible place to fall . Babies are precious :) cookies looked yummy . Awesome job !
You can chill dough fast by putting it into the freezer for a bit of time without freezing it too
