The deep voice of Tanita who is also a Contralto like Diana (not as deep as Diana) and the surreal lyrics that made every one search for the song's meaning gave it a popularity that continues to this day i advise you to check the original too. Diana was perfect for this song, it does not have complex vocals, Diana even added her own vocal flair compared to the more monotone original but it has a hypnotic rhythm. It suited her vocally since she is also a Contralto like Tanita and they were both 18 years old when they performed this song. This is Diana's first fully VR performance too, there is another one later on the show which once again shows it's class, the staging the humor and the people participating in it makes it incomparable, everything hit the spot perfectly. I am not Russian but this is easily the best singing show i have ever seen, no bad blood no calling names, no controversies just good mature people with excellent humor and pure appreciation for the arts. Diana got second place for that particular episode with this song (each episode had it's own separate score and there was a total score at the end of the show). She ended up following the advice that Mark gave her, she did add this song to her repertoire and now she is singing it in her concerts, it is a fan favorite. I enjoyed your reaction once again, you pronounced Tanita's name correctly as for mine do not worry about it you can call me Constantine, i will sent you the next episode soon.

Hi. That cult song of the 90s was never played here in the US and if it were, not much. I literally never heard it. I was listening to Metallica and Alternative Rock mostly then. Does that make me ignorant? Does that make me stupid? I regularly experience popular songs in Poland my wife is shocked that never played here.
