These were built by Chrysler as a government project for the army. They worked good on packed snow but not good enough in powder as is evident in this clip
Get about 8 bros and everyone riding a Sno-Runner with biker colors on!! Hit the main trail line some weekend cruise 2 abreast!!! I swear to God it would be the funniest shit!!! 😂
LMAO !!!!! First time seeing one of these. I,d love to have one when it snows here, just to make ppl look and wonder "What tha H.....l" (don,t snow much here)
Kool Retro stuff. This answers the question why cant we just put ski's on a bike with a snowmobile track in the back. I take it 2 ski's in front would be too much drag
"Can't Get Any Better Than This" ??? Well...you certainly lead a rather boring...mundane life on the snow! LOL! I had one of these back in the late 1970's...early 1980's. Was fun but not very thrilling. Actually worked at a motorcycle dealership where we took these on as supplemental product to sell off-season. Had 24 of them. Sold 1 and gave the rest away to a Public Service TV station to auction off!
Okay. Let's have a race from one end of the football field to the other and back in about six to eight inches of snow while the runner has full winter gear and boots on. :-)
@@27Zangle that's the only way one of these dogs has a chance. Btw 6" isn't much snow at all, it's the bare minimum for the snowmobile trails to open here. If i had to guess I'd say those things can't go through deep snow like 12" +
@@JH-jd8ip - They can get over 20mph stock. This video is just it putting around and nothing more. I don't know what the maximum depth in snow would be, I imagine not much.
@@27Zangle very cool but that is pretty slow. I was brought to this video because I thought "wow those look really cool" but if top speed is 20 mph they are not too interesting or desirable imo. Now those dirtbikes that some people convert to snow machines are a different story, especially since I ride a dirtbike👍 thanks for writing back and clarifying
Back in around 1979 or 80 my buddy got one of these! I recall ripping around the downtown area of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario on it...
Roger Diotte ever go to the retro ride in echo bay? Someone had one last year
Sacre blur

Something like this would be easy to fabricate with modern equipment.

I'm so confused on how it works
It looks like someone could literally run in the snow faster then these
