Just discovered your channel. Don't be hard on yourself. It's about having fun and enjoy life.
Man I LOVE your football shots (I will not call it soccer I simply refuse). I typically think of football photography as something that's incredibly boring as someone who doesn't care for the sport but yours are always so pleasing, especially the colours! I could be shown thousands of football photographs and easily pick out which ones are yours
Not my style of photography but you're crazy good, my dude. Love the honest natural tones and light play. Your work belongs in coffee table books and galleries. Appreciate your brutal honesty in all of your videos.
A +30 minute Dee Rosa video? Well, let me go get my breakfast ready, cause we're watching the whole thing.
Hello from Laredo. I love night photography and your night pics are great. Inspires me to do more of that. Keep up the great work. Just subscribed too.
I appreciate the candid feel to this video. Embracing imperfection is key to longevity
Dude, I really like your style focusing on older gear, technique and lighting. Keep it up!
That trick with the mirror and tape to create a window pane is sweet. Caleb Pike is awesome. Those night shots you took are really beautiful. Love your style, Dee. 🎉
One of my favourite quotes I've heard lately is "The camera isn't your tool. The light is."
Fantastic work bro!
Liminal Dee goes insane. Just caught up to the whole vid, man. Loved it!
Are you using the back screen of the xh2s to focus or a monitor?
Great stuff here. Like the shot between your neighbors as well! What camera do you like to grab to just go out and shoot?
Thanks!
Dope video as always
I've had an M6, found film to be too expensive and too hard to shoot for someone who has long been used to digital. And yet every time I see a picture of one, I always lust after it. It's such a great machine.
RUclips needs more talk about light than gear, good video.
so from your experience, light and portable xpro3 vs gfx50r? i'm holding xpro3 and thinking about to switch to gfx50r, but a bit concerned about it's speed, i think xpro3 is relatively fast, but not the rocket fast, and sometimes that lag between releasing the shutter button and actual capture is kinda forever (even in manual mode that i shoot), i used to taking pics in 'topography' style and environment around, but lately it's become my family's daily cam and taking pics of my son, always crop the images to 4x3, just love this aspect ratio, so what do you think?
Hey Dee what happened to match the colour of your cap to your shirt? 😂 That aside some very good lighting tips and great photos. Thanks for sharing
Ive shot 1.2 mid day and it looks fire. Same goes with a 1.4 lens lol. I think knowing how to expose and edit is top dog and can save any situation.
Downward, direct lighting can make people look crazy and scary if you don’t modify the light. It’s not about shooting wide open. It’s about lighting.
its more work to delete the face shadows but yes you can do it.
lighting is key, you can have a polaroid and if the light is perfect you can get amazing photos.
May I suggest two books:
Light Science And Magic An Introduction to Photographis Lighting by Fil Hunter, Steven Biver and Paul Fuque. There are several editions out there. All cover the basics,
Next, Matters Of Light And Depth, getting memorable images for video, film, and skills through lightging, by Ross Lowell {as in Lowell lighting,]
Not enough people talking about Ansel these days, such a silent MVP.
What will you be in Oakland for?
you came a long way from just the 50/28 combo
ATLANTA!!!! let’s go post. If you do any meet ups I would love to come say what’s up. I watch all your videos.
