I always wonder how people like this can afford to play so often. Only things I can think of are, you live with your parents for free, you inherited a fortune and don’t need to work, you earn a huge amount of money working only a few hours, or finally, you earn enough money from making vids/streaming to support yourself. I’d love if you or someone else can shed some light on this. I love osrs but I can only play maybe 2-4 hours per week rn. Taking me forever to get to late game content because I want to max too
I've been debating making a video about this actually. It's not a quick answer at all to explain how I'm able to play so much now. The very short story is when I was ~17 I sold off my xbox 360 and games and abandoned all my friends and family for a train ticket out of my hometown to be with my fiance who lived hours away. Now in a few months I'm going to be marrying her and we own our own house. I started by working 90 hour weeks at various jobs, mainly as a waiter and grabbing as many tips as possible. Then picking up an IT apprenticeship which was SO BAD. But it did lead to me working at one of the most incredible institutions in the world through sheer chance. I wasn't playing much at all during this period. When I got that job I worked as hard as possible, sponging information and making contacts. Then once the info and opportunities dried up I'd go for a higher paying job and rinse repeat. During that entire period I went from going to bed starving for weeks and being made homeless at one point to helping my mum pay off her debt, partying with friends, getting engaged, the house etc. I started getting MEGA stressed though working in IT. Sometimes I'd get signed off sick from work because of stress and would just play OSRS most the time (which is where the old maxed inferno acc came from). Then because of the stress I decided to do youtube as a hobby to distract myself. I don't do things by half measures so I studied the youtube algorithm for about 500-600 hours. Sometimes during work hours too by religiously listening to and watching tutorials online. I then put all of that info into my first video and it absolutely blew up luckily. During the first year making videos I reduced my hours at work to focus on youtube. Luckily because of the hard work previously I could do that via savings. Cutting down the hours helped my stress levels a ton. Then this year I've carried on with youtube and it's going somewhat well. I've since quit my job to focus on youtube full time, it pays not even half of what I was earning and just about covers my half of the bills at the moment. But I think if I put the same amount of effort into youtube in 2025 as I did my previous jobs it should start to pay off even more. I've not really uploaded much this year as I've been focusing alot on behind the scenes stuff and self improvement. But in 2025 I plan to skyrocket the channel by playing a ton and uploading a bunch of videos. It all sounds great but the downside is that I don't see my family much, I don't have kids and most of my good friends have moved away or are in my hometown which is hours away. So thats a big reason why I can play a lot too. But I was always able to play a good amount during the week, you should write down where you are spending your time and what you can cut down on or change. But I'd say you should use that extra time to do productive things like make money or self improve rather than play OSRS. Hopefully that somewhat helped, probably best to join the discord if you wanted to carry on the conversation lol.

1:32:48 - I honestly think you're right. 99 parties aren't really a thing anymore. :/ Granted I don't really have friends that play this game but I never really have gotten to have a 99 party (which is a shame because they were something I always looked forward to in RS2 but I never got one pre-EoC/OSRS split; I've gotten 6 in OSRS so far).
Yea thieving sucks until you hit level 90+ I feel like. Try out pyramid plunder if you didn't already. That ones quite fun and more bareable than pickpocketing lol.
We really only split drops when we get a sigil. Otherwise it's not really worth it. Although sometimes our high level players will just end up dumping their loot on ge and donating it to the clan coffer either way. Our cc has a big mix of casuals and hard-core players and we try to help the mid levels out as much as possible and encourage them to get into pvm
fang with mole is goated. im kind of a noob with pvm but i really love the baby mole pet so i have been grinding it out and getting a ton of gp in the process, also its just a really chill thing to do i enjoy some boring grinds
Wish I could relive those rs2 days but my only account is on rs3 and as much as I'd like to keep building up my main I kind of just want to start over and experience it for what it is now

I have over 7000 now. I explain that I don't just want the collection log but I need to own every single piece of armour at once to store inside the POH. I also need to build a castle wars armour stand which is even more tickets. Roughly 900 hours of castle wars total.

I just wrote out an entire paragraph why and youtube decided to delete the comment lol. Not sure if it'll come up twice now. Anyway, the main reasons were essentially it would make for better youtube videos seeing the entire thing from the beginning. You don't really see that for a main account anymore on YT. The other was that I wanted to take a different route maxing. There has been tons of new content added since last time I maxed. There were more reasons but those were the main ones. But yes you're right it would have saved a lot of time. In the far future when I'm in the super late game I'll be using my old account as an alt for DPS/supply runs. But not going to use it for a long time, otherwise it'll just ruin the fun for myself.

Yea I feel like people only celebrate maxing now. I've only been to a few 99 parties this year and I think being in a clan certainly helps for that

I just wrote out an entire paragraph why and youtube decided to delete the comment lol. Not sure if it'll come up twice now. Anyway, the main reasons were essentially it would make for better youtube videos seeing the entire thing from the beginning. You don't really see that for a main account anymore on YT. The other was that I wanted to take a different route maxing. There has been tons of new content added since last time I maxed. There were more reasons but those were the main ones. But yes you're right it would have saved a lot of time. In the far future when I'm in the super late game I'll be using my old account as an alt for DPS/supply runs. But not going to use it for a long time, otherwise it'll just ruin the fun for myself.
