I have several white button ups…cotton blends and also pure linen. I wear white long sleeve tees under blazers and cardigans in cool weather. I have loads of white short sleeve tees. I found a style and fabric blend I love at Walmart of all places! So I bought multiples. I love that I can go classic with one on, or funk it up to a boho look as well. I like an all white look….white jeans, white shirt and I add a nice leather belt with whichever style jewelry I feel like on that day. I always have sunglasses…yr round…and I recently purchased a nice, leather hobo bag. I’m retired and my lifestyle is extremely casual. White shirts can play into any look.
I am so happy that I am getting to wear all of my classic attire one more round before I retire from employment. It will be bittersweet because dressing for work is an expression of my personality!
One of my very favorite white shirt looks, Sharon Stone at the Oscar's wearing her then husband's white shirt, unbuttoned to the waist sleeves rolled up, a gunmetal Grey long satin sheath skirt, Diamond studs, pixie hair, red lip. Perfection! Utterly unique, classy and fun
I believed I had a decent grasp on my style. You have debunked that. Thank you for being my mentor and inspiring me to elevating my style in my 50's. I'm on point. 💐
In my opinion, you can’t say, or wear, classic too often! Everything classic is great, from clothes to music to architecture and decor. Classic really means “best in its class or category”. Things become classics because they’re pleasing, timeless and always beautiful. You are the best classic stylist on the net, Gemma, and to me, the best stylist in general. You have that analytical, objective eye that all artists have and their creativity, while staying within the classic genre. I hope you will continue to feature higher-quality brands and items.
I have an array of white shirts, and I never give them enough credit or wear time in my wardrobe! It is autumn in Australia and where I live still in the mid to high 20s (C°) so I am going to try and utilise them more for the coming weeks as stand alone and then to layer. Thank you, Gemma, for your classic and timeless guidance as always 😊🤍🩶
I agree with others who've said you can't really say classy or classic too many times - as this is what we're all here for 🙂 I really appreciate your steadfast adherence to classic style and your courage in saying no to trends that everyone else jumps on if they aren't actually classy/ic.
Hi Gemma. I cannot thank you enough for all your styling videos. They are extremely helpful. I have a special request for a video on what to wear to an afternoon or evening ballet performance during winter please. I would really appreciate this.
Hello Gemma, we’re in the middle of a heat wave. 30 c !!! I wore my new white jeans and white classic shirt❤️❤️ it was a no coffee or tea day lol, keep these amazing videos coming. So very helpful !
Whitney looked fantastic there, but then she was so beautiful that she looked great in everything! I love a white shirt, but tend to wear my silk ones more than my cotton or linen ones. Silk is so soft, hardly needs any washing, and doesn’t need ironing. Next after those is my no-iron white linen one, I wish I could find more of these in other colors. I won’t wear anything creased, but ironing is such hot work in the summer! Even now, my little laundry area is getting hot, because all the utilities are located there.
I have this old image of Queen Rania wearing a white shirt and a maxi skirt, I think it's so elegant yet a bit casual.. also love the combo white shirt + denim shorts/skirt... thank u for all your videos Gemma, they are so inspiring 😊
Lots of new ways to wear a white shirt. Love the great suggestions. Whole new perspective on what to team white shirts with! Great Gemma thanks as always
I have lost 41 lbs and forgot how to dress. Thank you so much for helping me gain style. I appreciate your videos. I bought the white shirt and, I never thought I would do this, bought a green handbag. Thank you.
I do love your “ classic “ taste! I still need to find a nice crisp-looking shirt though! As silly as it sounds, I have trouble wearing a white shirt and have always felt it doesn’t compliment my skin. Your videos with ideas to“ sharpen” the outfit are fabulous and motivating.TY
I’m in Alabama, USA, and am wearing a white linen top over jeans, with some boho style jewelry. I’m a little funky while dressed in a classic way. I alternate between purely classic and funky, boho/hippie. Luckily, the classic pieces can be funded up. 😁😁✌🏻✌🏻. Love your advice.
Gemma, Could you show some work wear that doesn't feature outer wear. An outfit has to be appropriate for where we work, but inside where I wouldn't wear a trench. Many thanks.
I love the look and versatility of a white shirt but feel that true white is not a great color for me. I have a hard time finding ecru, ivory, or off white. I’d appreciate some help finding them. Do you have ideas?
I’ve been searching for a white shirt, but it’s challenging due to my body. I wear a medium size shirt, but am large breasted, so they gap when I button them.
I used to have the same problem. Now I just put a small safety pin between the buttons where needed. I usually don't have to wash my shirts every time I've worn them, so between wears I just leave them buttoned (and leave the safety pin in) and take them off and put them back on over my head like a sweater🙂
I must be the odd one out as I dislike white shirts. They all look great here, but I'd only wear one as a cover-up to keep the sun off me on the beach.
I got 12 classics, 1 classically & 2 classys! I’ve just never found “the one” - as an Apple shaped women - fitted cotton is a nightmare. If I get big enough to comfortably skim bust and thick midsection, the shoulders don’t fit right. I like natural fibres but think I probably need something with a bit of drape rather than the oft-quoted crisp cotton.
White looks great as long as it doesn't get stained. It's not really practical for the real world: eating, drinking, kids, dogs, biros, any type of work and definitely not at the beach... guaranteed sun lotion stains. White clothes are high maintenance and unforgiving. Look nice though when pristine.
I was with you until that triple layered look; “dickie”, shirt, blazer. You’re not the first influencer to show that style. I don’t care for it. There’s something not right about it. It’s just not a good look.
The white shirt is amazing, I think everyone should have one.
Me too

Yes! Totally agree, mine too it's a fabulous outfit and she looked fabulous wearing it

I absolutely agree! I’m also in my 50s and the lovely Gemma has really improved my wardrobe choices. Thank you Gemma!
I don't tire hearing you say "classic"...you do it seamlessly Miss Gemma.
😊😊♥️

Well said.
Gemma, could you please make a video about short sleeves shirts/tops? Thank you!
How about a video on a blue collared shirt? I find they are also a great staple like a white shirt.

Loved it with the silk skirt-I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear with my silk skirts!

I love white shirts simple class that never goes out of style, so versatile a key piece of the ‘uniform’.
Thank you for the many ways to wear white button down shirt. I love the pictures you used to illustrate the looks.

Your no iron linen shirt sounds fabulous. It’s what I dislike the most about linen, that it’s creases as soon as you wear it 👎🏻
How about a steamer?

Excellent outfit ideas 👍👍
Thank you very much! Wonderful video! Tomorrow I'll wear a white shirt ... 👌🌹😍❤

Me too @Nadine Burt. Good luck with your style journey - it sounds like you're well on your way!
Your videos never fail, Gemma! Great one! I'm inspired to try a few of these looks!❤
What a fantastic video. Full of great ideas, be is casual, formal or classic. Thank you ❤🙏🏻

Could you try a classic blue/white striped shirt? Or perhaps a shirt in a color that does compliment your skin?
You can also try an off white shirt, I have an off white lily silk shirt and I noticed I prefer it over the stack white shirts I have.
A bit harder to find... off white or cream works great as well.
@@chicalertng I do have a lily silk off white shirt. I haven’t tried it with jeans. TY. 👍
I would love one as well, but am having difficulty finding one that fits due to being large breasted. I wear a medium size shirt, and a size 36D bra.
I have more than 1 and love the easy, classy look it gives to an outfit. Thanks for this Gemma! ❤❤
Love the white shirt! Great video, Gemma.

Great video. ..love a crisp, white blouse!!!❤️
Hi Gemma
Love a white shirt ( well a few actually )
Just in case of accidents, then it's the 'Daz' challenge 😄 xx
Great video white shirts are such a classic look
How do you keep makeup from getting onto the collar of your white shirt?
This just reminded me how stylish Whitney was❤️💃🏽..
Great video….❤🇺🇸Thank you!
A year go I bought my first white shirt. Prior to that I never even owned a white T-shirt.
Hello! Loved it! Thank you so very much!!!!

If you live in the States, visit Banana Republic- lots of off white😊
Try H&M. They always seem to have neutral and other colour linen shirts. I bought a lovely oatmeal coloured one from the men's section 2 months ago.
Great outfits
I wanna Wear them all😊👍🪴🌸🌺🌼
Bravo 👏

I probably have 7 white shirts

Can a person wear tan when she has grey hair?
❤👍🏼

You are totally correct..
This is exactly why I only go for black or navy 😂😂😂
I was with you until that triple layered look; “dickie”, shirt, blazer. You’re not the first influencer to show that style. I don’t care for it. There’s something not right about it. It’s just not a good look.
Agree. Sometimes classical is so classical it looks old-fashioned, like it's frozen in time. It ages one as well.
@@Зоряна-н4е Yes! Some looks can come around again and look even better, but not this one.
Why go on about Whitney Houston who is dead, this is a very old style video, not a good look for Sheerlux.
