fun fact, the mp5k model that is commonly associated with HL2 beta content is not actually from the HL2 leak. It's from the Missing Information mod.
lol i remember when this leaked over 20 years ago and everyone absolutely trashed it, which is what caused valve to almost entirely restart development
Leak didn't make valve restart development, because in the leak there are almost complete maps from retail version, dialogs that is in the retail but less long, and there was complete story line that didn't changed. Valve long before this leak started changing entire game. What we call beta is a combination of different versions of the game, basically three different games (2000-2001) very dark version of the game, (2002) slightly lighter and without proper story and continuation, (2003-retail) basically what we got. In late 2003 there was a leak, one guy stole a lot from valve code, and friend of this guy leaked everything.
