Soon this company will bring out their autonomous mower, that really is where the market will transition to as it will make life easier for those who would benefit most from this technology. Remote control cars have been round since t least the 50’s or 60’s so this isn’t new tech as much as it is just a new application. Cheers.
$4,000 for an AWD with less than 2 hours of real-life runtime is pretty expensive, but if I could buy one for less than $2,000 I would be interested, since my years of having to push mow my hilly lawn might be getting numbered👍
4,000 dollars, you can almost buy a John Deere riding mower for that! Someone might ask, "yeah but who's going to drive it, you kid?" And I am going to say, "yeah, I'm not a bad driver myself."
I seen similar used a few years on verges next to the motorway. The remote looked like it had a lot more to it. Good for professionals, not sure about joe public having a remote control (that could be modded) controlling a mobile high rpm blade I dont know how i could ever price this in for my kind of jobs.
They should have put a camera on it so you can drive it behind your house or when it goes behind shrubs etc (i.e. lose sight of it). That sort of tech has been on drones for ever. Giving it a first person view point would also make it much easier to see if you missed any spots. Not to mention when it's coming at you, the controls are reversed which might be confusing for some which would also be solved by camera operation vs visual operation. Ideally you want to use this thing while on your couch using your TV screen imo.
That looks like a Hummer grade mower LOL. Doesn't get much more heavy-duty than that. I could definitely see its place, but coming from a guy who had one of the original Robomow's, the RL 550, that worked for 12 years before it gave up, I can say that the current crop of robotic mowers is far beyond this. Totally expensive and that's the reason I reverted back to my walk behind mower plus I'm old and need the exercise. But anyhow, that definitely is a niche market but an amazingly strong contender for that market.
They have a remote contol mower in our city. It is has tracks like a bobcat. They mow hillsides that are pretty steep in the city. They may be made by bobcat. I think they have been around for a while. The ones in my city looked a lot bigger than 22 inch, maybe 40
No, it's called firmware everywhere. The main difference between firmware and software is that firmware is a type of software that controls a device's hardware, while software is used by the user to interact with the device.
These mowers are pretty neat SteveO 😂. They seem like they are pretty aggressive. Awesome review. Hopefully, you and April will have a fantastic week! Cheers 🍺
If I’m going to stare at the thing while I use a joystick I might as well go. Stand behind and mow the lawn myself. If I could program it to mow all by itself I can see the use case
@@kenbrown2808yea, I guess for physically handicapped it has a use case. Steve’s joke about it getting teenagers to mow the lawn is funny because it’s true 😏
I have to store my lawn mower in my basement using a DIY 2 board ramp. I wouldn't be able to get this heavy monster ( I've seen where this weighs in ~ 100 lbs) up the ramp; at least not by myself.
Hello Steve, I have an Oleo-Mac pole pruner and I would like to replace the carburettor. Walbro WT 930C I have tried all the obvious outlets eBay Amazon etc but can't find one. Is there another carb that would fit and do the job? I would appreciate any help you can give me.
For that price it should mow the lawn by itself. If it's connected to remote controller by Bluetooth, that sucks. It should use 915mhz so you can use any radio controller
It should be Bluetooth accessible with a camera so you can mow while you're at work. Then you can get your buddies to do it. I'm always looking for an easier way 😂
Well now this is an interesting video and a somewhat interesting self-driving mower. However, it doesn't seem like it's that practical to me and way too pricey.
Just need to pay a 13 year old minimum wage for 4 hours to cut my lawn. 😂 But jokes aside, it is a great idea for people who are unable to easily cut their lawns, that being said, if it bogs down somewhere far away, this could be a great hindrance to those users. I would like to turn one into a Robotic Waiter, I’m guessing it could handle 100+ beers at once. 😬
Looks like a great little automatic mower Steve. However, unfortunately it's way over my price range. Also, I am wondering if the mower can be programmed to mow the lawn automatically without one having to stand there and direct it all over the lawn. If not, I don't see this mower as being that useful.
They are neet. Don't know if I would buy one but might. Why did I know what would be in your free hand hehehe. The trouble with putting teenager on that is they would cut grass for a little then see what else they could do with it. Never mind that last statement. Us big teenagers would do the same thing. James out.
I have an Echo 56v 2.5 Ah battery. Awful. Runs a bit then stops. Pulling the trigger no help. How about a video on batteries we use in lawn equipment and all the batteries that are unreliable? Mowrator battery? Any good?
Like we need another reason to sit in a recliner eating pizza, drinking beer and getting fatter while watching a game, instead of spending an hour or two a week mowing your lawn😂
6 grand, 7 with the catcher here in Australia. Way too much for a machine that doesn't have all the tech goodies like sensors and autonomy etc. This is a heavy duty RC car with a blade attached. That's the sort of money i'd spend on a ride on mower and would expect to get a good 10 years use out of it. I do wonder about the longevity and durability of a lot of these electric robomowers, especially considering the costs.
"Whats up homies!" "Mom made me clean up my room, its such a drag!" "Sucks to be you, cause I was skating my lawn mower on a half pipe!" "Achievement Unlocked: Mowrater railgrind." I saw Donny's video on this first too BTW, Mowrater are really trying to get their product out there. I think their best for small yards obviously, and also best for yards that you actually keep up, and don't let the lawn grow 8-inches tall or more, basically normal mowing. Yes, I think teens in a rich home would love using these things, and the disabled folks absolutely need these things as well.

Cool Steve! Thanks 👍 Cheers!!
I'm confined to a wheelchair and you have no idea how happy it is to see a product like this.
$2,299 I think I will pass.
same
$4499 in Australia. I'll pass. Anyway my wife pushes the Honda mower for part of our 1 acre and I mow the rest with the Hustler zero turn.
Agreed. That kind of $ can be put to better use.
For that amount of money 🤑 $4450-00 in Australia l can buy a Zero turn mower. Thanks for you demo Steve 💯✔️ from Melbourne AUSTRALIA 👍🤠
Thanks for the price. I don't like being tricked to click a link.
I like the 21 inch cut and the ability to mulch. However, I'll take one with a GPS unit installed.
ME FIRST !!! The Free hand is for holding a cold beverage of choice

You can definitely buy like a 42" torro or xmark for 4 grand
@ but unfortunately after decades of trying, they can only mow about half of my lawn😩😂
I like

I’m sure they’ll add it for a price. Or you could simply duct tape your drone to the mower.
It’s time has come. We already have vacuums that can navigate your house and avoid obstructions, why not a lawnmower
@@Skashoon Husqvarna already have a mower that works exactly like the Roomba vacuum cleaner. Search for Husqvarna Automower.
FPV all the way 👍

Unless Jeep makes them.
Kubota had a remote control ride on size mower probably 30 years ago. It was a proper diesel engine tho so it ran for hours and hours.
Just bought a 4500.00 stick steer, I hope to have bought my last mower.

I take it firm ware is what we Americans call soft ware. Cool video Steve. Mike from Maine

firmware is the interface between the software and the hardware. BIOS is an example of firmware.

How well does it cut? Missed grass blades, etc?
4:33 Steve-o, you cracked me up!
Now...if they can just create a RC weed eater and leaf blower, I can do my lawn from the patio.😂
Cool invention, great idea. But at that price point I think I would pass. But again cool concept.
If I’m going to stare at the thing while I use a joystick I might as well go.
Stand behind and mow the lawn myself. If I could program it to mow all by itself I can see the use case
as Steve said, this is for the people who can't stand behind it.

@@Actias1974 I find it funny, because when I was young, if the chore could be done with the tractor, we'd be doing it.
Next.... a wheel chair with 21" cutting abilities.
2,999.99 no I'm good
Awesome,
I would think they would get even better traction on grass then on the hard surfaces of those ramps.
it depends on the condition of the grass. dry grass on good turf has pretty good traction. wet grass with poor root structure has worse.
I think Roomba already makes one of these that's programmable, so you don't need to watch it. Just hit start and let it work.
👍👍👍. Thanks Steve
Time to fab up a plow, Steve 🥶
Those are pretty neat mowers. As you say though, a bit pricey just now.
Neat machines!
If two hands are needed to go forward, how does a one handed person use it?
I have to store my lawn mower in my basement using a DIY 2 board ramp. I wouldn't be able to get this heavy monster ( I've seen where this weighs in ~ 100 lbs) up the ramp; at least not by myself.
About $7,000 in Australia is not a winning deal. Let's hope they drop in price.

Great! All the best from germany………………
Cool product a little pricey though. If I had to choose between this and a new rider I would buy the rider because it has more uses.
Yeah, no thanks.
Having to set up your preferences sounds like it should have a number of user memory settings that remember just how an operator likes to set up
For that price it should mow the lawn by itself. If it's connected to remote controller by Bluetooth, that sucks. It should use 915mhz so you can use any radio controller
It should be Bluetooth accessible with a camera so you can mow while you're at work. Then you can get your buddies to do it. I'm always looking for an easier way 😂
😂 Steve: has the most lawn care equipment and the worst lawn in the neighborhood 😂😂
Painters houses need painting, electricians have switches hanging by the wires etc etc
I'd be nice if they were programmable so all you have to do is press start and it mows on its own.
How lazy can some0ne be
They've had those for 2 decades.
It needs a chute for the grass so it doesn’t leave piles of clippings everywhere. It looks like crap when your finished
You apparently didn’t watch the entire video
i was shocked at the price.
Gotta watch out for those “low tranging hees” when you have a brewski.
Needs GPS. Good vid.
A very cool mower, however not cheap at all.
The AWD model which I would need = 4849.00 EUR...
And you can avoid walking through spider webs🕸

a remote controlled mower and a 6 pack…oh boy 😂
I’d prefer gas powered blade style with only the wheels running off battery.

If you're to old to cut your grass, perhaps they make sense. It not, get off your rear end and use a traditional mower!
Batteries last X number of years and they want over $2,000 NUTS!
Drinking and driving!
They would be good for steep hills. Also the elderly or disabled. And anyone who is lazy with a lot of money!! Too pricey for me.
Only reason I see a use for this is for places that are a safety issue for a regular lawn mower
Caveat Emptor, I ordered a mower, they took credit card payment, shipped bag, but, no mower!
Thanks Steve.
AMAZING!
At that price, for what I pay my yard guy to mow my grass he could do it 45 times. 😅
And million more Americans getting less exercise. 😢
Are they all baggers ?
Why is it so difficult to find side discharge mowers in the consumer realm ??
I could buy a 2 year old cow for less than that and get all the milk and butter we need.
Wow, Steve, thanks but not for me.
Can you ride on top?😂
To much money!
Too.
Kool yard toy but a bit pricey, especially for a set income. Those that could use these the most can least afford them.
Need to press both thumbs up n down
Don't need one of these if you have a wife. 😂
NOPE NO THANKS GELL NAW
does not do you any good, because you now get less excessive, at a very expensive cost!
