- In this video, we will take a look at the Onn. Streaming Stick, which costs less than $15 and how it compares to the Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite. Amazon is planning to release Firesticks and Fire TV devices with their own software instead of Android. This means sideloading Fire TV devices may not be possible anymore. Hello well just to confirm what you are saying it’s absolutely true I have been testing the ONN. Android 4K TV box bought at Walmart for under $20 And it has performed very very good. Actually thank you for all your tips appreciate it.

I also save all your videos to share with my less tech friends and family. Thanks again. I have bought and used both the ONN stick and the box. The box runs faster and smoother and is more than worth the $5 difference. I have taken several, both sticks and boxes and side loaded a couple of apps (Kodi) and given them to a couple of siblings and friends that are a little tech challenged and they enjoy their use. I gave my son, who travels a lot, an Onn stick to take with him as he travels so he can relax and watch HIS programs wherever he goes. Also thanks for your web site for all the up to date apps.

The cost for the Onn4k delivered was 21.69 I am in the states not the UK.

Yes , Ive got one from the USA. Its very good . (I live in the UK) via Amazon!. However, there are no extra ports for add ons.
@Paul-rz1bf. You CAN add extra ports by following the advice offered by Tanya by adding an OTG cable or adapter. I experienced a 'problem' with adding a network cable and USB Flash drive in that the power adapter that comes with the onn. devices only 'puts out' 5 Volts at 1 Amp. I remedied this situation by purchasing an adapter that 'puts out' 5 Volts at 2 Amps.

I'm in Jamaica and got my 4k box last week and it's just great.... so far. Got wolf launcher running and button mapper. Way less stress. Plus some of the installed apps can be uninstalled

I have the ONN 4K box. From day one, have had absolutely no problems, great picture and sound, no updates changing things around, it's reliable, fast, and can be formatted just like the Firestick with my own background, widgets, apps and still have plenty of space left for more. I would easily recommend this over a stick for the extra $5.00.

I have multiple shields but i got the 4k onn for my brother to replace his piece of crap firestick.Loves it.

Will the ON device will work on any EU countries or in the UK?
@joseluque4094. The onn. 4K Google Android TV Box DOES work in the UK. ✅☑✔🏁🇬🇧 You won't, however, get at the prices charged in the United States. I paid almost £60 for my onn. device with import duties added. You CAN sideload many different Apps, and NOT just those that are available on Google PlayStore. 😉 You MAY have difficulty with the onn. box recognising certain Apps as I tried installing them last night when someone asked whether it would play BBC iPlayer and ITVX. So far, I've been unable to get either of those Apps to work, but bear with me. 😉 (I've actually got a movie playing right this very second, but I'm using a VPN which is indicating that I'm in the United States of America.)
Sorry, but I can't comment on whether it will work in EU countries.
Edit: Oops! Please forgive me, but I omitted to say that if you intend to add external storage so that you can install more Apps and/or a ethernet cable so that you don't have to rely on wi-fi, you MAY find a problem with the added power supply unit that comes with the onn. box as this only 'puts out' 5 Volts at 1 Amp. I solved this 'problem' by purchasing a 5 Volts 2 Amps output PSU (Power Supply Unit). (The 'problem' that I was experiencing was that it kept 'losing' my added storage.)
If you don't intend using external storage and/or an ethernet cable, this PROBABLY won't affect you. ♥

The problem in the UK is it has problems with the main UK Streaming apps like itvx, C4, UK tvplay, my5 etc. Chromecast looks a better alternative but that can also have problems with them.

I ordered the onn 1080p streaming stick today and it'll be here Monday sometime, I have an older sanyo TV and it's only 720p resolution so it'd be a waste of money to buy the 4k streaming box i think.
Using a 4K streaming device can enhance your viewing experience by providing higher resolution content, improved colour depth, and better overall picture quality, even if your TV is not 4K.
I'm not a fan of remotes being black in color, that makes it easy for them to disappear into the ether when you set them down 😂

The Firestick is still a fantastic choice for UK catch up and IPTV. Fire TV devices are one of the few budget-friendly devices that allows users to install apps such as iPlayer, ITVX, ALL4 and more. Unfortunately, I had to return the Onn within hours. It seems to have fewer apps (no Tennis Channel at least), and I couldn't play videos from my flash drive without blanking and formatting. No navigation buttons either. I'd love an alternative, but Onn wasn't it for me.

I travel for work and stay in random hotels around the US and I'm looking for something similar that can handle the MedHut streaming app that I currently have installed on my Android Tablet. Does this unit have the Google Play store so that I can DL the same app? also how does this product compare to the Roku Express (which is what was suggested to me by the Walmart employee)
I'm not sure if this device supports the MedHut streaming app sorry. Have you looked at the FAQ pages for the MedHut service to check which devices it is compatible with. I do not have much experience of using the Roku Express sorry but I would advise again to check compatible devices on the MedHut website.

Everyone has a “Camp.” I think “Side loading” is the point. Not everyone wants to spend 200 plus on a device when tech changes so quickly and most don’t need, want or can afford the “best.”

I have both 4K ONN Android TV Box & ONN Google TV Box. But I prefer the Android TV over Google TV because it's a lot snappier and faster. Google TV lags more and sometimes gets stuck in the interface.
