    He had a personality and handsomeness like no other, unique Rudolf Nureyev 🌹❤️ Today's dancers may be technically perfect but they leave you cold. Nureyev was exciting.

    Brilliant interview. Rudolph Nureyev is so funny, and like an amazing actor. I love his sense of humour and intelligence, it was very touching at the end when he said he would like his mother to ask him was he happy, which she did so, and he in-turn replied "yes I am". I felt Mavis Nicholson and Rudolph Nureyev have a mutual respect as though they were well acquainted already. He is very watchful like one who has reason to believe he is being spied upon, yet at the same time such a lovely character so charismatic.

    I really love how Nureyev, who grew up rather poor and disadvantaged, regarded a simple plate of food as an opportunity for indulgence. Most dancers nowadays would likely prefer that the camera be turned off while they eat. If they actually eat anything at all. Not Nureyev. A plate of food is always to be cherished.

    Beauty is skin deep, a person's creativity and persona is what makes him attractive, not his facial appearance. Nureyev has unique features, and he used it well to convey emotions in his dance. He's a genius as well, so he comes in a complete package to have made him a super star.

    I believe he demonstrated a great sense of self, of his surroundings, his aura was huge, big, he expanded his essence to extreme surrounding, I would say easily 1000 feet and beyond, and in that Aura of Nureyev energy, there was peace, grounded eternal peace, claiming at all times continuum the God within projecting out. Inigualable, One of a kind, He was able to understand languages and express himself in these just like as he dance, with ease and comfort expresing beautiful images, ART, sensuality, intelligence, ascension. Complete, ethereal, and Whole. Gorgeous Nureyev.

    Geeze Mavis, let the man eat lol! He rose at 10am, practiced from 11 to 3, then had lunch & went back. Schedule an interview After his lunch. And asking him about his mother while he is eating and being interviewed, you can see his sorrow, then the tension when he mentions the KGB which had threatened his life, the life of dancers, friends and families he left behind. I keep reading what a narcissist he was when all those close to him and he himself belie this in interviews better than this one. He was amazingly gracious to her. I would have walked out.

      Dense witch of an interviewer. “So Covent garden is homier”

    • @rmp7400
      @rmp7400 Год назад

      Agree that one can see pressure on him - however, his illness impacted him even more than the distress from the Secret Service...
      Yes, an intelligent, imaginative genius can be very charming - but a will of steel also does carry the promise that one had better not confront him with an opinion in conflict with his own....( Even Dame Margot, whom he loved and appreciated dearly, was not exempted from public servings of his flash temper.)

      Home & homier, are far more significant, pressing matters for any refugee, which is that which Nureyev had just become.
      Context & semantics are important in a sentence, the term “Homely”is illiteracy at its best.

      "Beauty," as the adage goes, "is in the eyes of the beholder." I think Rudolf Nureyev is still quite attractive in this film. Then too, perhaps you do not find people of Slavic heritage attractive generally.
      Many people considered the younger Rudolf Nureyev to have been very attractive. You should check out some films, photographs and video of Nureyev from the 1960s and early '70s, but especially from 1960-65. He is rumored to have had affairs with many men, including Mick Jagger.
      Of course this film was shot 20 years after Nureyev's defection to the West from the former Soviet Union. Perhaps the ravages of HIV had also begun taking their toll as well.

      +ellamae Rudi was very beautiful. As for his lip scar - it was the result of a childhood injury. The scar enhances the beauty of his mouth. And those cheekbones! I can't understand why you see him as 'facially unappealing'. You must be one of the few people in the WORLD who don't see and appreciate Rudi's beauty.
