I think this mv connect with turbulence story, coz there airplane and yeosang back at the table scene And i agree about san as the blue bird, blue bird is symbol for hero, and sannie act as hero at halazia 🎉
Mmm interesting call back to turbulence! and that’s SO true it didn’t come back to me while watching but San was 100% a “sacrificial” type figure in halazia..
I see so many girls says i go to concert because San’s this movement😅 i’m so excited to see this performance in live because we know ateez live performance king
Watching you talk about how you hope it will be a bit artistic and not limited to fanservice after I've already seen it and know that this is the most artistic Ateez video ever was so funny. :D I loved this video so much! They are always very creative and innovative with videos, but this one was so good; the grungy, late-night cyberpunkish aesthetic suits a sultry song like this one so well. I'm a Wooyoung biased; I've died over San's moves before, but Yeosang took my breath away in this. I had to watch it quite a few times to start to notice little details (I am looking at you "RIDE" neon sign) because I kept getting distracted by Woosansang; you did a lot better with noticing stuff than I did. :D
Oh, and I really loved how their outfits were cohesive but still their own style, especially when they danced together. And they all had the same "bluebird" colours in solo shots: San in the cage, Yeosang with the white desks and Wooyoung on his knees (his was under the white jacket, but seemed to be the same material and colour when it showed).
Hehe im glad it turned out the way it did :)) the mood and setting and OUTFITS oh my goodness it’s all soo good..LOL im surprise I was able to get past some of these moves and shots to look at anything other than them😭
San confirmed on Fromm that he's the blue bird and then added "the little blue bird that lost its voice"... in reference to Halazia 👀 so we're definitely right about that. People said there are a lot of parallels with Turbulence here. The airplane stuff with Yeosang, San being confined in places and Wooyoung "flying"
Mmmmmmm INTERESTING.. it makes sense considering the constant imagery of him being by himself and sacrificing himself but how does that change the broader scope of the lore, etc… LOL who knows There are! and that’s especially interesting because turbulence was such a self contained mv and story (lyrics wise) LMAO
“I hate when people tease stuff and don’t talk about it” as you tell us something big is coming and NOTHING ELSE!!🤣🤣🤣 My curiosity is peaked! Looking forward to whatever you’re cooking up.😁
😭😭 im sorry idk why i did that, but i will announce soon! Just want to make sure I actually have the stuff im working on completed first before I say anything! I guess I was just excited so it slipped out😭😭
It seems to me that first one bird flew out of the cage, and then seven more. A hint of Ateez? And I also liked it so much that they made references to the Diary film - huge silhouettes above Wooyoung at the beginning of the clip, Turbulence - a plane flying through a thunderstorm, an empty classroom in which Yeosang is locked, Wooyoung's flight. And I also saw a theory from one tiny that it is San who is the bluebird. He constantly sacrifices himself in clips and other videos, which means that it is easiest for the Guards to catch him. Yeosang sees this and sings about San in Halazia I really hope that this text is not too strange, because I translated it through an online translator) Thank you for the videos you shoot, they are very interesting and sincere💖 See you next week after the release of the Youth video. I hope I'll get over it.
Translation was perfectly fine! I appreciate you being willing to translate your language in order to interact with us here❤️ I really love the points you make here. I thought of turbulence when I saw the plane but I didn’t know how to connect it, so I like how you did that! The point about San makes so much sense too..
ughhhhhhhhhh this song this music video this album RAHHHHHH i love it so much and i feel like it has such beautiful imagery and def some symbols i dont fully get. ateez makes full on art and im so happy like they def thrusted in our faces LOL but gosh this mv was a full story and i need to watch it at least 100 times to see it all and process what it could mean! lol
tada my thouths! all of the boys wear blue, in the beginning woo wearing a blue shirt and his mind teared apart by voises, they all suffer from badtrip where this crows trying to take them down, look at this sequence where san is in a cage and surrounded by crows, and after he's in a black suit making shadow that looks like a crow wing, and his eyes in that "dark" form - cold and scary, there a even moment where he looks at himself trapped in a cage, and after birds that reliased from this cage - not a blue birds. San even making a crow wing for wooyoung from behind in his sequence about peter pan when he flies. Yeosang too, in a blue suit he's running from something and having a nigtmare, and in a black clothes he acts confident and provocative too. I belive it's a story about blue bird turning evil, turning into crow, I'm not sure - is it about bird finding power and voice in a more confidet strong apperience, or its a story about dark powers taking over (I belive in that more, because look how confused boys in blue feel, how trippy and scary this voises in their heads) and now halazia, yeosang chained in there, wooyoung burning down black fedora, and san looks lost and in pain too, maybe woosangsan will get under some dark influence, and do some kind of betrayal, maybe "bird lost it voice" means lost it way and that's why in halazia, ateez look so devastated and like they are dead or something, also remember wooyoung standing alone with blood on his lips and dead bodies around him in hala hala? and him bitting san in dejavu choreo? I crave betrayal storyline please
after watching the behind the scenes with no subs sadly, sans dance it cant even be called a little suggestive, it’s hella suggestive like now it’s just unfair to the rest of us who barely made it through the mv
There is a lot of lore related in here.. but ateez lore is complex and long and i am waiting around for ppl with more time to figure things out hahaha ❤
Okay, okay, okay, let me collect my thoughts here for a moment, because agreed and thankfully there is more to this video than just destructive fan service, though I didn't pick up on it until a couple watches because Yeosang kept attacking me. Anyways, so there clearly is hints of story here relating both to the fears and feelings mentioned by each member in the Fever pt. 1 diary film and their real life fears they've mentioned. Right at the beginning when the dancers are doing that cool choreography in the photo negative style Wooyoung is seen really small and kneeling in the middle, just like he was in the diary film when talking about his stage fright, which is also a real life struggle he once had. Then Yeosangs scenes show him wandering kinda fretfully alone, and then have him sitting alone at a desk in the middle, just like he did in Turbulence. This I think signifies the fears he had in the diary film of feeling alone and trapped in the life his father wanted for him, as well I think it kind of depicts his real life fear of being left behind talent and career wise. He has stated before he feels like all the other members of Ateez have improved much more then him and branched out into much more solo projects and he fears he's being left behind and stuck. Then we got San, and of course the giant bird cage wearing a blue shirt, which has loretiny speculating San is the blue bird. But you know me and my theories on who the blue bird represents so you know I'm not so sure about that. I also feel like San being in that cage ties to his real life feelings as well of being caged and constantly watched in his career, but then being set free, and also finding a way to help Wooyoung be free and literally lift Wooyoung so he can "fly," which might also tie to the lore because we've seen imagery of Wooyoung and San flying before in Eternal Sunshine and Turbulence.
You and some others have mentioned the ties to the diary film, and I appreciate yall for doing so because that is something I haven’t thought about in a while lol. There are some specific references that seem very interesting, and assuming they are deliberately meant to reference those different scenes, it calls in to question what this MV can mean.. both unit MVs have had specific call backs to previous MVs now, so I do wonder how much is storytelling in some way and how much is paying homage to the full groups history. Idk! I also immediately thought of you when I saw the specific blue bird imagery lol, I know how much that occupied ur theory brain. The airplane and flight is also so interesting and almost out of place (the airplane specifically). It’s so intriguing..
ok i tried really hard to analyze this mv for lore but ngl as someone whose ult bias in kpop is san, i had a difficult time paying attention... -the bluebird imagery is fairly obvious, 'nuff said. it's interesting that san is the one personified as the bluebird in this mv, seeing as it's been yeosang who is most associated with birds up until this point (diary film, the real, halazia). -caged birds usually symbolize repression and breaking free of it. so... i guess woosansang are unleashing their sexiness on us?? just kidding (kind of), i'm assuming it has more to do with the general ateez themes of individuality and freedom, etc. i find it fascinating that it looks like san is looking at himself in the cage and frees himself. -first we get wooyoung BLINDED by the FLASHING LIGHT of the car (desire, hala hala, it's you, way more songs i'm forgetting) and covering one of his eyes (yay more eye imagery!). the first scene where he's edited to appear smaller than the dancers reminds me of his part in diary film where he talks about his stage fright. -ignoring the objectively funny visual of yeosang getting hit by a plane, the plane thing, aside from being in the lyrics, is a reference to turbulence imo. also the tornado and the hurricane reference in the lyrics harken back to the thing ateez has with storms throughout their catalog. the part in the bridge with yeosang dancing in front of lighting is also a storm thing (lighting and THUNDER!!!) and reminds me of the deja vu mv. yeosang's desk(s) scene reminds me of his scene in turbulence, too. -the giant neon sign spelling out TRAUMA makes it obvious this mv is lore-related, lol, but i can't really connect it to any of the lyrics or visuals yet. -lots of breaking glass: broken mirrors? the cromer breaking? -it could be dismissed as just cool creative choices, but we gotta talk about the editing and framing! 1) there's the use of FLASHING LIGHTS as transitions, etc. 2) there's also the phasing of the members and the dancers in and out of the scenes, where sometimes they (yeosang specifically in the desk scene) appear to be doubled or multiplied, which i think points to the lore existence of at least two different dimensions and versions of yourself. 3) there's the mirrored imagery with the puddles, which makes me think, again, of different versions of yourself in your reflection (hala hala). -there's a clear contrast of blue with white and red with black in the mv. do i know what that signifies? of course not! :)
Yea honestly this mv felt littered with allusions and so much more *potential* for intrigue from a lore perspective than Matz..but honestly that just makes me want to go back and pour over Matz more because it feels like all of these unit MVs are going to be something that tell a more complete story. All these elements that you single out feel very specific, with direct callbacks to other points in the timeline. It’s kinda tripping me out a bit lol. The broken mirrors/glass def stood out to me, and with the editing and lighting cues everything felt soooo intentional lol. But they always do! This comment is super disjointed cuz my mind is kinda blank rn so I apologize lol
Hi Strokie! Ateez really give us songs to any type of emotion: agressive mf matz, sad but horny its you, desperate youth and depressed everything lmao)) 1:54 i agree, nothing wrong with fanservice but sometimes u want something sexy and beautiful to also be artistic and meaningful, and ateez never dissapoints when it comes to creativity and art 3:12 wooyoung in his babygirl era 3:55 i bet woo insisted on that twerk lol
Hii:)) I love the unit songs in particular because they literally do hit completely different emotions and vibes, and they do it SO well.. I don’t know if woo has ever left this era…
The space bar mashing was so relatable 😂😂😂 I stopped in the exact same place and had to take a second to breathe.
😭😭
San is incredible man
whew you are not lying

😭oh this song performed live is going to change people’s lives…
San's dance style in this MV really reminded me that his role model is Kai from EXO
I don’t know much about Kai other than he is respected as one of the best male dancers in the industry so that makes sense to me!
your hair is soo cute
Yess, it suits him very well :)
hehe thank u :)
