omg, I'm so happy you pointed out Seonghwas's voice. It gets me every time. And yes I also said it was whiny it sounds like a cry and has so much emotion behind it. I love his voice so much. In the beginning of HALA HALA he also has that whine to his voice.

I think your real issue with Work is the fact that it’s a title track. No need for us to be “mad at you” for having an opinion… many Atiny have said this. I think it was chosen to bring in some new fans as it is much more commercial than a lot of their bangers. Just my opinion. But keep up the good Work (pats myself on the back for that stupid pun lol)
Honestly I think that’s it. Usually Ateez (and frankly most other kpop groups as well) choose their Title tracks pretty well imo but I think just the idea of the impact and such for a new era establishing TT just fell a weeeee bit short. I appreciate ur open mindedness tho! Love the pun too hehehehe
i agree Strokie! i like work itself but i honestly don’t like the album. it’s kind of underwhelming for me compared to the previous albums, it’s good but it’s just not my style. you can be an atiny and not like their album/songs, it should be the norm in kpop. we don’t have to like our fav’s songs if we don’t like it. i agree so much with lucas, it feels and sounds more commercial than their classic comebacks. tbh i don’t even like crazy form that much, but work doesn’t entice me even more than crazy form. i agree with you Strokie that work is my least fav title track. halazia is just on another level for me lol
Dingo posted a Short of them singing Utopia from inside the studio. There is no music because Ateez is hearing everything in ear, so it is just straight raw vocals. If you sort their Shorts by popular and go to 147k views, you can find it. Also, the background is white and the colors are done with lighting.
As a Seonghwa bias, I am loving the attention Seonghwa has been getting through Killing Voice and their recent behind the scenes. Especially from people who are already Atiny, but haven’t paid attention to him. Have you ever watched his karaoke cover of Empty by Winner? I listen to it constantly. He starts off a little timid, but then he hits his stride and 🤯. I think the proper term is vocal cry, but yes… Both when he speaks and gets emotional and when he sings, you can hear it and he often gives me frisson. I love Ateez production, but I think Seonghwa and Yeosang’s voices often have their ‘magic’ stripped out. Both of their voices are so unique.
Work: Work is an ear worm and I love to dance to it, but it is not a track I listen to. To me, it is what it is. A hyper little track with no overhead that is good for parties. My kids on the other hand… they play it over and over and over. They were the same with Bouncy, which I also never really listen to. Both are fun in the concerts.
The Real though… I freaking LOVE The Real. I da de da da da all over the place.
Guerrilla is my song! I love it live and the track. It never gets old for me.
HOWEVER… right now, I my car playlist starts with Propaganda-> Outlaw -> Siren. The flow is PERFECT.

Hwa has truly taken me over it’s kinda wild. I watched 1 single snippet of the recording behinds for blind (will watch the full vid soon) and hearing his voice really changed everything for me. I have not seen any of his covers! I get what you mean about Hwa and Yeosang cuz their voices are so unique, I think that’s why I loved MATZ so much (besides the insane beat) because I feel like that was the truest representation of his “vocal cry” and delivery in song that I remember.
Re:Work: that makes so much sense😭 I forget if I made the comparison in the video but Bouncy and Work gave me the same initial vibe (not sonically, just in terms of public presentation) and they’re both bangers of that ilk so that tracks for me totally😭

I feel you on Work. It’s such a good song but it feels almost like an outlier amongst the ateez title tracks, either way I’ll still jam to it but I miss the craziness. (Also that 15 second bit in Work that you like is or nearly is the instrumental from Eenie meenie by Chungha ft. Hongjoong)

i noticed a lot of reactors for ateez initially didnt have “bad” reviews for work but after listening to the album it def wasn’t the best song. i def agree with work since it felt like the easy choice as the title track but i wish they made the sort of ateez decision to make another song the title track especially with having such full sounding songs back to back these past comebacks so you’re not alone in that work opinion 🫡

I think Work is chantable but musically forgettable. I like the Spanish part about golden eggs and the rest... is fine. Honestly I think people like it because they can sing along since the whole chorus is in English. I think casual fans like it better than hard-core ATINY overall. I LOVE The
Real, though. It's a blast live. It's grown up my list little by little until I just love it now.
Speaking of live... if Seonghwa has a hold of you now... WAIT until you see him live. He. Is. Magnificent. Mingi catches a lot of people off guard as well.
Mmm yea I think that’s a good way to put it! it kinda sorta felt like the group/KQ understood that off the back of the chart success of “WILL” if they release a track that is a bit more accessible for the greater audience they would have a much wider reach, which makes sense to me.

was worried about you since you vanished for a while and twitter was gone, glad to see you back. About work, it is a fun and easy going song, I think is fine if isnt what many atinys expected, they said is their version of easy going (which we know is not what they do for tts usually), is groovy and catchy and is something they never did this way before. They had fun with it and I think they are in one point that they are allowed to branch a bit, cause they did 8 and 80 in this ep Work is very tammed and Shaboom is like an acid trip. Maybe is cause I follow them since pre debut but I can see they like work and I am happy to see them having fun being goofy and unserious. This is only ok cause they are quite big now.
Haha thank u. As for Work, I fully understand what ur saying and agree 100% that they should never feel boxed in or limited simply because fans like a sound. Just for *me* this style of song has never been what I love *most* in music haha still like it tho!!

I like watching coz you're trully Atiny. Everything what you said here is exactly what I thought. Jongho is magnificent with his technique. But for sentimental, Seonghwa always comes first. I personally love his Pirate King part here. It reminds me his struggle on his first recording. While he perfectly executed it now.

The World albums are my favorite. I figured since they were going back to world A, that they would try a different sound/genre. I don't hate it, but I really liked Siren!

just a fun fact that mingi has said that he was sick during the recording of this video. at first i couldn’t tell but i definitely noticed it when he started to sound a bit nasally in fever (not bad at all, it’s actually kinda fitting for his voice) and how he kept drinking water. i can’t imagine how scratchy his throat felt, my guy’s verses need a lot of power and tension 😂
this video is so good because i feel like it shows how great the rap line (i know, i’m biased as heck) work together, it showcases them a lot here. and san beside jongho is just beautiful, i love them even more. just one thing i don’t like is how little part yeosang and wooyoung got, since a lot are their older songs and we know how bad they got treated with small verses in the songs… i hope that kq gives them more time to show their vocals because they CAN sing and if kq utilises their vocals better, man that would be the end of me lol.
my years-long question is also answered here as who were the ones doing the growl in pirate king, i knew they layered a few of their voices but it was still confusing. definitely didn’t think that mingi also did a part, because the growl sounds so much more like yunho’s, but once again ateez proved me wrong. that growl is so delicious to hear lol, raspiness of mingi, deeper tone of yunho’s, and idk who else but it’s a beautiful point in pirate king.
talking about their visuals though, man wooyoung and mingi look ethereal like mythical creatures here, their hair look incredibly soft like wolves idk how to explain lol. jongho and san keep bias wrecking me too. and it’s so unique how different yunho and mingi look in physical build despite having more or less the same height. they’re soo beautiful!!
you don’t have to say sorry for not rly liking work, because i honestly don’t like it as well 😂 to the point that i don’t put it in my playlist in my apple music, that’s a first for me bc all of ateez songs are in my playlist except for work. it sounds too boring for an ateez title track for me, and i won’t apologise for saying that. sometimes your faves released songs like work and that’s ok, people shouldn’t be upset at you for not liking what they like bc that’s just ridiculous lol.

I didn’t know Mingi was sick! He and San were hitting that water up like CRAZY so I guess it makes sense for him LOL. This vid was truly such a perfect showcase for all of em, it’s so great. As for Work, it seems a lot of folks kinda share our opinion LOL I guess we just all kinda needed everyone to share what they felt to come out of the woodwork
