The sad part is you can literally see the port in the first shot of him sitting in the car, it really isn't that hard to find. also I own a Corolla Hatchback and use this port every day... it's pretty easy to find .. it's right next to the wait for it.. wireless charging mat.

I just got a Toyota Corolla renal vehicle. I was able to identify the center console USB Port, but it is only a charging port. There was not label identifying the dashboard USB Port, so I had no way of using that screen to mirror maps etc. I was only able to use the voice phone features via the bluetooth pairing. Nissan and others have a Data USB port in plain view in the central depression right underneath the dashboard. Toyota would do well to copy that from Nissan and others.
Who is going to look? I did. Found it within a minute of the test drive, lol. Thats how you connect your stereo to Apple car play or android auto....Both of those ports are obvious.
I bought a 2020 corolla brand new. Nowhere did they disclose that Android Auto won't work...I own an Android phone. I bought an adapter that fools the system to think I have an apple. I'm still pissed that Toyota was afraid & paranoid about Android. To me, the stereo is the weak link. I think the new models have both now. Ridiculous 🤬!
It charges your phone yes. The dumb thing (which this guy fails to mention) is that only dash has data, center console not. So you need to always hook up to dash for Android Auto. Aad that connector is badly placed and can hit the passenger knee.

😢 Don't use it with a passenger in the car. They will bang it with their knee and it will break. And it will cost you a $100 and a whole bunch of hassle. Trying to replace it if you do it yourself.

I was wondering if you can help. I bought a 22 Corolla. The dash pad in the car is unable to be cleaned without scratching the dashboard pad. When I bought the car one of these service advisors was close by and said whatever you do try not to touch the dashboard and do not put anything on it. I didn't think much of it at the time but now I know what he's talking about. You can't even use the softest microfiber to dust it. It leaves micro scratches. I've never seen anything like it. I sent an email to Toyota and did not get a response on what to do for it. It's literally a brand new car and you can scratch the dashboard so easily that it should be replaced under warranty with a different material. Whatever Toyota chose it was the worst material choice for interior ever.

I was having the same problem with my Pixel and Corolla Hatchback. For me, it was a bad cable I bought at Walmart. Started loosing connection to the car every time I picked up the phone after about a month of using the Walmart cable. After I started using the cable that came with the Pixel Buds I haven't lost connection to Android Auto once. Hope it helps!

Fantastic, I didn’t have that sticker and I didn’t find the port under the dash. Don’t know why it’s so hidden. I didn’t get a USB port in the arm rest. The 12v socket is there with a blank panel next to it. Sometimes they just scrimp in the wrong areas. My first car was made in 1960 and the cigarette lighter was only in the deluxe model. Seems nothing much has changed. 🤠

just bought a 22 xse hatchback 6spd used for $27,500.. prices are crazy on these now! only i dont like is the bad quality lcd display in the stereo along with the horrible speakers. and rear speaker placement is horrible you wont even hear them up front! I just bought a $1000 focal speaker set and plan to fab up something in the rear deck for better SQ.. i wanna buy a GR corolla but i have a feeling they will be wanting 45k+ on those!
As a 2020 Corolla owner, the dash is one of the worst dashes I've ever seen. On the driver side when you enter the car, the dash comes to a point like this > so when I'm entering I have to make sure I don't ram my knee into the dash since it sticks out so much.

Also note that the 2022 console charging port is USB-C. The dash port is still a standard one
And the 2023 has two more usb c ports in the back along with the two in this video.

The dash port is to direct connect your phone to the multimedia system. The armrest one isn’t connected to the multimedia unit - it is just a charger.

Our Corolla is 2023 and shows phone screen when connected thru Android Auto.
Thus isn't USB regular size tho. Not great on rental
All videos of toyota corola are not helpful at all.

the display is a slug, it's super slow when the car first starts, and pretty awful when the car is cold (ie: winter)
