  • I give some tips on how to prepare custom artwork for your fightstick all on your own. I use my Korean eTokki Omni Arcade stick as an example and go over some of its features, but these tips apply to any fightstick.

    The default screws on Etokki Omni are torx screws, and usually need a torx driver to remove/install. They can be harder to strip if you have the proper tool.

    Really handy. About to start modding my new stick for the first time 👍

    Use a plus or a star sign inside the circle you want to cut, then cut accordingly using the exacto knife. It will be less stressful.

    Thank you so much for this video! I just went to my local print shop and they mentioned they wouldn’t be able to cut out the buttons. And before I went through focus attack I wanted to see if I could cut it myself. This tells me exactly what I’d need & how to do it

    Thanks for the vid man. Watching this made me think that the berserk manga panels would look good. I have 4 fighsticks with zero art so this will be fun.

    I have a template and it want to print out. But what service do I use and what do I say to them when printing. This video is the closest I've come to finding an answer.

      Bro just put the plexi over the art and cut inside the holes with a sharp blade

      It's not plexiglass it's bullet-resistant acrylic. You can use a knife without worrying about cracking the acrylic

    very helpful video. quick question for you: what type of paper material did you use for the print/art?
    Thanks you!

    • @aech2x
      @aech2x  3 года назад +1

      I think photo paper will usually produce the most vibrant colors, but I like to use harder cardstock paper for the black and white stuff since it's more sturdy and I just feel more confident manipulating it.

    quick question do i have to take apart the buttons. Could I just make the custom artwork take off the plexi glass and then just insert the artwork without taking off the sanwas?

    • @Nikita13337
      @Nikita13337 3 года назад

      you could do that, but holes in your artwork would have to be bigger to go around the buttons

    Seeing as how you have both the ettoki and the qanba obsidian, which one do you like better and why?

    • @aech2x
      @aech2x  4 года назад

      Ettoki is much easier to mod, but Obsidian has some nice features like a wider base and cable compartment.
      If you are going to mod and eventually upgrade PCB for future consoles, then ettoki is probably better unless new consoles have backwards compatibility with old controllers.
      I think they may change the USB connection type on new PlayStation though.

    • @duyngo6242
      @duyngo6242 4 года назад

      @@aech2x Okay thats good to know. Im not too worried about the cable compartment and as long as etokki is comfortable to use (hand position/playing on lap) then thats fine by me. I think modding is a big factor for me though since im not very handy and I do want to add art or change parts if necessary without much hassle. Are you from the US? If so, I am wondering how much it costed you total for the omni? I know its around 50 for the shipping but I just want to know if there are any other fees/import/duty taxes.

    • @aech2x
      @aech2x  4 года назад

      @@duyngo6242 not gonna lie, shipping was expensive. Considering how many deals there are on the Obsidian, then it might be the best choice when considering cost/convenience. After you open it up the first time it's really not too bad to work your way around the Obsidian. The only downsides are that it does not readily accept Korean levers with collars and you have to cut your printed stick art out all weird because it does not have a standard rectangle layout.

    • @aech2x
      @aech2x  4 года назад

      Oh, layout is important too. Obsidian uses viewlix and the lever is pretty close to the buttons. I think etokki uses Noir and a lot of people swear by this layout. It's personally my favorite for lever as well. Honestly, I use my Etokki more, but so much of this is personal preference. If you can get your hands on one of each and try it for yourself first, that would be the best way to decide.

    • @duyngo6242
      @duyngo6242 4 года назад

      @@aech2x yes I do see the obsidian has the buttons and lever pretty close. I want to say that would bother me but this is will be my first stick so I cant be 100% sure
