    I love hand weeding! It is very therapeutic, feeling and smelling the soil and plants, listening to the birds....then to look back and see a job well done! I enjoyed your video and would have offered to help but I live in the UK, but you seem to have it covered!

      Me too,.. only thing i dont bother with is the gloves.. sweat will get them soggy... theres nothing wrong with a little dirt under your fingernails and some calluses..

    Thanks for the great advice. I too will pick hand weeding over chemicals or mulch that may invite pests to my soil. We are offering another alternative, Tertill, a solar-powered weeding robot. This solution is great for those who don't have the time or the physical health to weed as much as their gardens require. The Cornell School of Agriculture found this to be as effective as hand weeding.

      I sometimes throw down an old towel. Knee pads are a good option too.

      Soak the soil first.

      Try using a shovel on the root centers to loosen in the soil.

    Weeding is the only part i dont like about gardening. But i suppose they wont do themselves.

      Trivit30 They make gardening chairs with large tires if you have to pull a ton of smaller weeds.
