It captures the massive size of Bowser, the finality of the scene and how just about all the odds are really against Mario, Luigi and/or whomever present during this part! I also enjoy the Bowser's Fury battle themes as well, though I also have a love for The Grand Finale from Bowser's Inside Story for the energy in that. The Mario series has some really epic themes for sure!

While im studying programming i have huge interest and skill in art and music, and as someone who has composed a lot of music for games (that are only in early development stages but still MANY pieces) it is inspirational to hear someone turn a masterpiece of a Final Boss theme into something even more spectacular. I can imagine this sort of orchastral revamp of this song being the final boss of a more sinister take on a mario game. Excellent cover. If i can come back in years to come, either as a director, games designer or project leader ill definitely be inviting you to co-write the score or lead the music team of some project in the future. What software do you use?

Like the Princess Shroob war theme (phase 2) This Orchestra feels like it could exists in a Mario movie (not really the new one, but in like Lord of the Ring)
I always loved this song and this part of the game. Sure, bowser has been bigger(Yoshi's Island and Bowser's Fury), but the music just builds it up. None of your attacks can hurt him. Nothing you can do will stop him from moving forward. All you can do is RUN.

They were often workjng with budgetary, hardware and/or time limitations, so I do think it's harsh saying things like "this is better than what industry composers are capable of." The original songs from New Super Mario Bros. Wii are so good that New Super Mario Bros. 2 just took those for their OST and made only minimal changes to them. That is why I will always prefer New Super Mario Bros. Wii over New Super Mario Bros. 2.

In a way, it is sad. Bowser lost, but in a last ditch attempt to defeat Mario, he sacrificed basically his entire castle to try and he STILL failed
