I will definitely be trying this! Also, I noticed you included the temperature for the liquid. That is very helpful. For years I was just heating the liquid in my microwave thinking I got it hot enough, but was never happy how well the bread would rise. I finally purchased a liquid thermometer and wow, the water was much hotter at 110° than what I thought was warm enough for my yeast to activate enough to produce a nice loaf of bread. Now even my whole wheat bread rises beautifully. A liquid thermometer is an excellent investment if you bake a lot of bread.
I spray my bread maker with cooking spray before I add the ingredients. It helps the dough to come out easier. I also spray the plastic wrap before freezing.
It’s quite surprising to me at the lack of appreciation of bread machines by so many people. For those who love homemade bread, rolls, French baguettes, Italian bread, pizza, and even donuts, all one has to do is pop a simple dough recipe in a machine and then bake in an oven. Anyone can make fresh bread DAILY at a fraction of the cost. I don’t think of my machine as a bread maker, but rather a dough maker.
Hi there nice meeting you I have been using my bread machine a lot lately for dough kolaches and cinnamon rolls thanks for the recipe on how to freeze it
Thanks for the video! Good job! Please don't let the negative comments get to you. People are so mean and disrespectful now days. I have the same machine and didn’t know I could double a recipe on the dough cycle . Thank you for showing me I can, it was very helpful for this elderly gal... only 72 years young, but never too old to learn. I have a cinnamon raisin bread recipe that uses 4 cups of flour. What do you think about doubling that in the Sunbeam? Thank you very much. I appreciate You.
Thank you so much for your video! I love to make home made bread from time to time, especially during the winter months in upstate NY. I know how to do it all old school, but what attracted me to you video is that I really appreciate using just the dough cycle of the machine. After that, I resort to throwing the dough into my cast iron Dutch ovens as a bread pan in order to keep them seasoned nicely. I really love the Breadman Bread Machine so much that I figure the hardest duty for the machine is the heat of the baking job, so I mostly use it for just the dough cycle. Whether that extends the life or not, I'm not entirely sure, ...... just a guess on my part. Thank you for your video my friend! Great video work / footage production!!
Great video, but sometimes salt will inhibit yeast so best to add all the liquid first with the sugar and salt, then the flour and yeast last. At least this is how I have learned with lots of bread machine recipes. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, I’m trying to figure out how to use bread dough that I made and then refrigerated. This post helps me out a lot. Love the channel, I subscribe. 👍👍👍👍👍👌
I'm so glad it helped. Thank you for watching and subscribing it means alot. I love doing You Tube videos just not always able to keep up with them Hopefully more will be coming soon.
You don't have ot let them rise again. I sometimes just leave the dough in the bread machine until I'm ready to use it in the next couple of hours. It rises with this trick.
Great video!!! Would be great to use spatula , that way the top layer of the breadmaker would not peel off into our food... Safety and health reasons... Plus breadmaker or frying pans last so much longer 🤓 Thank you again for such a great video ❤️
Thank you so much for your video! I am obsessed with my bread machine. Quick question: when you take the dough out of the freezer and let it thaw, do you need to let it rise again after you’ve shaped in bread pan or shaped into rolls?
I use a calculator and kitchen scale for unform portioning of dough. Not necessary, but on the other hand, it does help me to know what to expect when baking my rolls and bread as far as time and yield and how far ingredients will go. 🙂
Hi! I'm excited to try this, but question: I use a recipe that calls for all the same ingredients you're using, except half the amount. It only makes one single loaf. How does double the ingredients yield 4 loaves? Am I missing something? Admittedly, I'm new to this.
This makes 2 loaves baked in the oven. I only use the machine to knead/rise the dough then cook rolls or bread in my oven. Your machine will only bake 1 loaf at a time in the machine. Not sure where you got 4 loafs from - 2 regular size loaves with this recipe/quanties in a regular size bread pan. You may be able to get up to 4 loafs if you use these quantities and smaller pans. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you for sharing. I am 73 and just bought my first bread machine. I want to make our rolls for our Thanksgiving celebration, but I would like to have the dough ready ahead of time. If I freeze it, should I put in fridge overnight and then shape the rolls in the morning and let rise in muffin pans for several hours and then bake. Just not sure the best way. Thank you for your video.
I would pull the dough out a day ahead. You can let it thaw in the fridge and then roll it into balls on a cookie sheet the day of. It will rise in the fridge so make sure the bag you have it in for freezing has room for expansion in the fridge. I found letting the dough come to room temperature before baking can help so several hours on a cookie sheet with some plastic wrap on the counter works well
It would have been nice if you showed what to do with the frozen dough the minute you took it out of the Freezer..How long to defrost and etc. or more rising?
You can feed the yeast and use it as a starter. Which is why she said she lets it sit for a while. It looks like her dough turns out beautiful so she must be doing something right! :)
This is a great idea for my bread machine! Thank you. Ok...so if I make a batch and freeze. Then I take out the ball of dough...I’m assuming I have to thaw a bit to separate into roll sized portions right? Or should I separate into roll sized portions prior to freezing? Should I then allow it to ride again prior to baking? Or is it ok to put in the oven as is? Again, thank you!
Instead of a loaf pan, remember the bread machine can bake...option 12, just put it in the bread maker and click it. It bakes for an hour. If you don't have a set of loaf pans...that's an option.
Super simple just pull it out and let it thaw in the fridge the night before. You can let it thaw on the counter if you forgot and pull it out early morning of the day you want to use it.
Unfortunately, people are not taught any more that if you can't say something nice, keep your mouth shut....I wonder if these neat/clean freaks ever eat in a public restaurant, I'm sure they would get much more than an eyeful! They are usually only cleaned when closing for the day and are a huge mess!!! But the reason I came was to ask due you let the complete cycle run for the dough including the proofing or do you freeze and let it proof, shape and proof? Good job and I enjoyed your video.
