  • In todays episode we walk through how to know what teams future 1sts we target in order to try to gain value and why. We discuss evaluating the whole league, how we try to formulate leagues, and even if we want to target 2025 1sts or 2026 1sts for different managers.
We use dynasty-daddy.... and a league volunteered by our friend GrubbyPaws!

when looking to trade for future 1s,
what do you consider more, the team having a low starter rank or the overall order when viewing from contender POV

We use thos as a scope for probability we want to target those teams and from there we look at the teams individually for things like weak depth, players we don't trust or want to bet against, bad qb rooms, etc. However, to answer your question in a vaccum, I think we care more about the overall order from contender view that starters, especially right now since we are really projecting out so far. If they have a "great" starting lineup today we don't know much because its so far before the season starts. However, if they have more depth and henceforth usually flexibility, we usually are a little more intimidated than just by a strong starting lineup and no depth. They both matter, but I think we take the overall contender view into consideration at a slightly higher rate.

@@Dynoconff thanks the makes a lot of sense. I recently took a bet by making a trade for a 1st rd pick that is in the “rebuilding” tier and i traded away a 1st that is in the “super team” tier and xaiver legette. the league thought i got fleeced but i like the move

@@matthernandez4095 It is a gamble, and variance can definitely make you regret it. However, if you are not competing this year or don't need those assets right now to compete, you could view it as possibly turning the 1.11 next year and 2.05 this year into a 1.04 or earlier. It is a smash if it turns out this way!
