My biggest problem with this movie was the fact that, the cool concept that zombies can "dry out in the hot sun and get reanimated by the rain", never actually happened.
i think the point was plausible deniability from the military that's why they need tanaka to be the middle man, and everyone except martin wasnt meant to be alive after they get the sample
I totally agree but they could look at it like - the casino owner had no way of knowing where the alphas were until they went in. So they go and it turns out they’re right at the start but the bad guy can’t just kill the Queen with the others watching or they’d kill him. So he plays it out and sees what happens. 🤷🏻♂️ But still. You’re right. The military would easily be able to drop in and grab an alpha without the world knowing. Seal team at night. Done. Also why didn’t the casino owner give them the code to the safe? It was his right?
Ive never seen so many tense, life in danger scenes, where the characters are just nonchalant and taking all the time in the world. So damn frustrating. And that God damn ending. Stupid daughter costs half the people their lives to save a friend. Doesn't even give any acknowledgement to weather the friend lived or died at the end.
Why do people keep saying the daughter got people killed. The guy who cut off the alphas wife’s head got people killed. Had he not pissed him off he wouldn’t have attacked them and they at least woulda made it out of the casino. It didn’t help that he had to stall the pilot to go look for her but the motion was already set in place by the guy who cut the head off.
@@jayjitsuu He was a bad dude. You expect that from him. Not from the person we are supposed to sympathise with, whose entire story revolved around her being a good person and wanting to help people. And then not even giving any closure at the end weather or not that person she went to help lived or died. Bad dude bad. You knew he was going to try and get the others killed.
Know what you mean. Near the end I was thinking "if that character hadn't done that then almost everyone would have most likely got out alive" Still enjoyed it overall though.
And if you see your teammate struggling from something make sure you also distract yourself over something unimportant and give the struggling teammate a good 2 minutes to struggle
Dumbest part in the film was moment where Guzman's friend was being attacked by the Shamblers or the slow moving Zombies. They can still help her, I mean there's a group of them mercenaries with full ammos but decided to leave the not-yet-bitten teammate behind when they can still actually aid her by shooting the rest of the zombies around.
Lots of dumb moments actually... ...Guzman's friend could have actually also stood up and run, or at least have mentioned about the betrayal tendencies of Tanaka's person. ...I wonder why the Dieter and Vanderohe in the vault scene were walking without the bags of cash yet, knowing they've got very limited time, why dilly dally? Ending, they lost enough time to escape. ...Guzman could have had a safe escape in the casino scene only if Batista AKA Scott wasn't that foolish to keep on shooting for the zombies when it's obvious there are to much for them to handle. ...oh, and BTW, I hate Geeta's character, leaving her kids all by themselves for what? Then being invisible and having no involvement in the helicopter scene in the end?!? I've never felt this much frustration with a zombie movie ever before, LOL, I just couldn't stand how I tried to be patient with the movie's development all to end up like that.
Zach Snyder is an idiot. If you're making a serious tone film, then you have to use logic. Very few of the character choices make sense. That alone had me hating it.
@@carloaguilera8721 I don't understand how tf Vanderohe could get out of that vault when he was inside. If Dieter had been the one hide in the vault and escaped from it, it would have made more sense .
Most unrealistic thing in the movie: The number of accurate headshots. Most realistic thing in the movie: People going vegan because Zombies exist. Edit: Guys, just came back after learning about the time-loop theory. A whole lot of the unrealistic stuff seems sensible now.
Kate headshoting like 10 in a row and then 3 to the main zombies protective mask was complete bs when they were ultra instinct against automatic guns lmao
No no. the most unrealistic part was the coyote character cutting a hole in he wall with a cement saw? while holding onto a ladder. Didn't believe it, the rest tho......very believable ;)
Fun fact: the pilot in the movie did all of her scenes separate. She was never on set with the rest of the cast and did it all in front of a green screen
Yup. Was supposed to be Chris D'Elia, the entire movie was filmed with him. Then all his scandals came out, and they recast Tig during covid and shot all of her scenes separately.
And literally for no reason too, like all of them just stood there with their dicks and tits in their hands watching her struggle. At least clear a path for her god damn...
Dude Same but I mean everyone that goes for greed dies, Kate went to save her friend... So she lives Her friend also dies because she also went for money....!
@@jesuslorenzo30 I really don't get that sentiment. It's a job, they're not stealing anything cause the owner of the vault is the one asking them. What's wrong with wanting to make a ton of money doing a job? That's what the filmmakers are doing. And Kate...she abandoned two children in a camp run by rapists. Sure it's not greed but it's still pretty terrible. And Geeta wanted the money to get her kids out of the rapist camp, that's not even greed. Greed is selfish, you do it for yourself not for others.
Bautista turned like in minutes!!!! But this dude walked across a desert, drove for god knows how long, rented a private jet, cracked open a bottle of champagne and still didn't turn. I legit thought he must be immune or something.
Actually 100% of the deaths were caused by that security officer dude. He also shouldn't have cut the head of the zombie queen. Thereby, annoying the zombie army
Bro the director Denis V actually made some Blade Runner 2049 prequel shorts that are available on youtube. I forgot what they are called but Bautista has a video all to himself, and it gives a little more backstory on the character. His acting is SUPERB. It’s worth a watch if you are a blade runner fan!
Let's talk about how they made it seem like coyote was gonna have some sneaky way in...WHEN ALL THEY DID WAS JUST WALK THROUGH THE SHIPPING CONTAINER LIKE WHAT THATS SO LAME AND THEY LEFT THE DOOR OPEN TOO
Even though the zombie tiger looked VERY cgi the scene was just as disturbing as the bear attack on The Revenant, I mean it... but weirdly it was bearable only because, in this case, the victim was that son of a b*
Eh. It felt like it went on for way too long. They tried to have it as a satisfying payoff to a bad character, but he was so poorly set up, and his actions made so little sense that it wasn't satisfying at all.
It was funny how they brought Geeta back at the end for nothing. We don’t know if she got shot in the helicopter at the end or they casually left her on the roof or she slipped and fell. Lol
@FIGHTFANNERD9 what are you saying use your brain about. They did exactly what Kevin said. They brought her back and then we never see what happens to her.
The cliche teenage daughter with daddy issues who is also the most annoying character of the movie gets all the cool characters of the movie killed because she tried to save the most useless character of the movie 🤦🏾♂️ Also Batista rules...
I was kinda interested in that can zombies reproduce is that a thing and how I really wanted the movie to dive into that but it was just put there to have a reason to send the army kinda a wasted opportunity to do something unique. We’ve seen this before Dawn The Dead zombie baby but she was pregnant already before she got bit
I immediately saw the movie was going to be dumb when a normal car explodes and tears apart a military reinforced armored vehicle carrying a high level payload
After all the hype, this movie turned out to easily be the dumbest, most illogical movie of 2021 for me. Too many ridiculous leaps from start to finish 3/10 at best
Also the fact that the front humvee of the convoy, whose entire job is to protect the payload, drove out of the way of the car, allowing it to hit the payload.
The last dude just gets out in the middle of a nuked city and radiation isn't a concern? Wouldn't there have been multiple nuclear shelters in casinos? Why not pay the guys to get the head in the first place?
i knew the movie was gonna be a huge "eh" in the beginning. when the two soldiers run from the "alien" and one trips and his gun goes off...and they both chuckle.
Then she shouted *Go* instead of telling the reality of the person who put her in that situation. The moment you are impressed by any scene in this movie, there comes a load of bullshit that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
@@ajsuryavanshi759 absolutely! Most deaths were just exhausting and would have been avoided if it wasn't for the traitorous guy. I was the same with this scene. Just get on the damn chopper. They had what felt like 30 seconds before they got on and they only did get on when the alpha showed up. I can tell you as soon as it landed I'd be hauling ass on it to get away asap not having a nice wee chat like time and danger of eaten by zombies wasn't a factor.
But Zack thought it'd be nice to kill Scott and the pilot and Geeta(don't know if she died, and If she did there was no point in trying to save her😂😂)...what a waste...if all you need was a head ,they could have asked for the head....I'm sure people would get it for you for even a mil dollars

@@matofilipovic7818 Hahaha I was thinking about the other parent-child relationship of the movie, ‘cause that girls choices killed the remaining characters at the end.

probably one of the most annoying parts of the movie. You don't have a chekhov's gun, then not use it. (I know it's not necessarily a chekhov's gun, but you know what I mean). Why even bother bringing it up? Just say they dried out.
I don't know why everybody blames Scott's daughter. She was going into Vegas anyways so even if they left her Scott would've tried to find her. This was a fun movie but, man, the daughter killed a lot of my love for this one. You know how in every survival type movie there's that one character you think, 'Is your only purpose to make things worse?' Yeah, for me that was her. She was the effing worst!
Things I hate about this movie or other zombie movies like WWZ etc. - Not closing the door when zombies are following especially on the rooftop - Wasting time by hugging and chatting instead of entering a certain vehicle which it pisses me off. - Bad decisions. - Traitors/Selfishness.
I think the worst part of the movie was the death of Maria, it felt really cheap, especially after what she revealed a minute prior, there was no need for the romance thing and was added just to make you feel bad. Other than that the movie was really enjoyable

I refuse to blame the actors/actresses for this terrible movie. They did great. The writing however was terrible. There was literally no reason to add Kate to the plot. Martin could've hid the Queen's body after he took her head but chose to leave it in the open. Lily could've used the Queen's head as leverage to escape then tossed it when she got on the helicopter but for some odd reason chose to walk away from the helicopter. @@why8298 that would’ve been a superior ending and less saddening, I’d prefer the irritating character to be eliminated rather than remaining as the sole one alive-though there’re already plans for a sequel therefore perhaps the character is involved with the sequel and would redeem herself
The daughter was literally implemented into the film because Zack Snyder doesn't know how to do "heart" and he saw Telltale's Walking Dead season 1, Train to Busan, Logan, and The Last of Us and thought: "Hmm, the father and daughter relationships with the father dying always gets critical acclaim for "having heart". That's how I'll do this" And proceeds to do so. FTFY

@@rapiton6083 I don't, really. I think he's a fantastic cinematographer. And that he has limitations just like any other director. If he sticks to the style that audiences like him for, he'll be fine. Just don't try to be someone he's not. I'm a big fan of his Dawn of the Dead remake and Watchmen which weren't exactly popular with the critics. I think the part about "the father and daughter relationships were the face and centre of those narratives, it’s not as much here" is kinda missing the point. My criticism was on Zack Snyder's inability to affect audiences on the sort of emotional level that we tend to understand. That father-daughter arc is not the entirety of Army of the Dead. And that wasn't my point. But it is the emotional heart of the movie, and you can tell it was entirely formulaic and fell flat because of that. He understood the method, but not the "why". Neil Druckmann's the Last of Us was so powerful because he tapped on his personal experiences of being a new father to a baby girl and what he would do for her. I think given Zack Snyder's recent tragedy, if he had tapped on that pain and maybe killed off the daughter instead of the father and used the father's character as a surrogate for his experiences, it would have felt a lot more authentic than coming off as a Last of Us/Walking Dead/Train to Busan/Logan rip off.

Only very few of the cast were actually shot. Heck, most of the setpieces in the MCU movies were done in pre-viz years before they actually shot anything and are just polished in post stage. SPOILER ALERT… but I think the plot hole Jeremy is referring to is the fact that the guy who works for the Boss said that what he really wants is the queen’s head because it’s way more valuable than the money in the vault. He managed to to get the head so damn easily and it makes me wonder, why the fuck wasn’t that the mission in the first place? That literally took a few minutes and only 2 people so the whole heist seems incredibly pointless. I still really like the movie tho
I think it was like killing 2 birds with one rock, they get the head and well 200M , where the ones risking their necks only get 50m, seems like an extra win situation. I dont think it was a cover up mission.
This movie mistakenly believes its characters are depthful or compelling, thereby dragging out a two and a half hour run time with no pay off. It's worse than the live action Resident Evil movies

Army of the Dead had so many plot holes and idiotic actions that made the terrible story hard to ignore even when the special effects were fantastic.

The helicopter pilot was added to the movie COMPLETELY digitally, after the movie was finished with a different actor in the role!!!!! Chris D'Elia was removed from the movie after all the scenes were filmed due to CP accusations. So the chick who took the role never was on the set or with any of the other cast... she filmed an amazing performance alone, on greenscreen!!!! WOW. She deserves WAY more credit. Her name is Tig Notaro and she was one of the best performances hands down.
Nothing TOO special about it besides the “smart” zombies, which I thought they could’ve been a lot more impactful, but I thought it was a fun watch overall. Someone pointed out the robot/cyborg zombie at the casino and the UFO at the beginning, as well as the “time travel theory,” and I’d like to see how those things pan out if they do continue with this “universe.”
Yea I saw a few of the zombies eyes were bright blue and at first I thought maybe they just missed a scene where they used a cgi face but the glowing fetus leads me to believe they have some kinda energy insides their corpse

You are absolutely SPOT ON! This zombie flick with chicks, is filled with STUPID DECISIONS one after another!! I don't really mind obviously DIVERSE characters, because the cast is actually pretty good. 👍 But WTF! The story is beyond LAZY and NUMB, but what takes the cake is the massive amount of PLOTHOLES!!😱!! The King zombie dude is shown to be standing on the building's rooftop, as the helicopter flies away, yet the very next scene shows him riding on a horse with the running pack of his Alpha zombies that's now WAY AHEAD of the helicopter(!!!!!) heading towards where one of the main lead actor's daughter is at?! Really??? And how is it that these zombies can jump around easily over obstacles like professional Freestyle runners, with the Alpha male being able to stand on the head of the Statue of Liberty, yet they somehow don't seem to be able to get over the Unarmed 3 levels of container crates barricade?!?!? The rich guy only wanted the head of an alpha, that literally is 20 feet from the entrance to the city. Could have been a 5 minute job.
They didn't even need the Japanese guy as a middleman, the military could have just gone in there with their own troops to capture an alpha.
i think the point was plausible deniability from the military that's why they need tanaka to be the middle man, and everyone except martin wasnt meant to be alive after they get the sample
Right?!!!! RIGHT?!!!! The plot twist itself ruined the whole story
A dumb movie with a big money
Ive never seen so many tense, life in danger scenes, where the characters are just nonchalant and taking all the time in the world. So damn frustrating. And that God damn ending. Well too bad because the friends and the kids died. Kids were still at the camp and the friend died during the helicopter crash
@cablecow15 same
Why do people keep saying the daughter got people killed. The guy who cut off the alphas wife’s head got people killed. Had he not pissed him off he wouldn’t have attacked them and they at least woulda made it out of the casino. ...I wonder why the Dieter and Vanderohe in the vault scene were walking without the bags of cash yet, knowing they've got very limited time, why dilly dally? Ending, they lost enough time to escape.
...Guzman could have had a safe escape in the casino scene only if Batista AKA Scott wasn't that foolish to keep on shooting for the zombies when it's obvious there are to much for them to handle.

Ludwig could've trapped himself inside the safe with Vanderohe but for some reason wanted to sacrifice himself to the zombies. Chambers was literally fighting off 2 zombies and they chose to leave her... I understand that its a zombie movie but theres just way too many poor decisions in this movie that make you go "okay, I'll just play along..." and it ruins what could've been an amazing zombie movie.... And wtf was that unexplained robot zombie that they showed for 2 seconds and never spoke of.
That robot zombie is apparently an Easter egg for the future of this franchise
@@joshuajoseph4176 They could've at least acted shocked and confused when they saw it instead of acting like it didn't happen at all... Its poor writing.
I don't think Ludwig was sacrificing himself, he tried to enter the Götterdämmerung but was pulled by the vecna looking king zombie, you can see him reaching for the other guy before the door closes
If a billionaire wants a live zombie head for himself, he won't just send a few hunters with a net to retrieve the alpha zombie they encounter, he will send an entire oblivious team with a mole in it, with a bank heist cover, and hope his mole can come through, because that's more fun, and the first option is too simple.

The dude surviving radiation was some Indiana Jones BS HAHAHA
Well it is a fictional movie.
Thank you. I'm watching like, he is just walking literally through fresh radiation
@@The_Knight_Rider1980 just because its a fictional movie doesn't mean it should be devoid of logic
@@ddawg1252 Well when a zombie appears and eats your brains let me know and see how that logic works out for you lol
@@The_Knight_Rider1980 what? i dont think you know what logic means. yes its a fictional mpvie but it still has to make a bit of sense. if your a zack snyder fanboy just say that
Are we not going to talk about how zombies looked like robots sometimes???? 100% seen sparks and metal underneath the skin when they got shot
IKR?! Wth was that???
@Anoneemus Noename lol
@Anoneemus Noename Hello, Russian bot account No. 525675, you're on every Snyder film video.
I’m pretty sure it will be explained because we know there is time travel shit going on
Think that blue shit in the head was part of the virus/fungal infection thing I would assume. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ It was a mess of a movie and we all have to make up scenarios for why things happened 🤮
Zack Snyder: *Makes another movie of zombies*
The Fans: *Ah yes, this is a sequel of Dawn of The Dead!*
For some reason I read snack zyder.
@@davionce1 Sounds tasty
Unrelated movies
Apparently it's actually a prequel
@@nivaldomonte5441 Nah man, Army of The Dead clearly has smart phones, Dawn of The Dead was still using old cell phones plus no one knew about zombies
There is two prequels in the works, an animated series and a movie featuring Dieter
I thought it was a robot/cyborg too, but upon watching further, their innards just glow a bluish color
time travel? the body's with the neckless?
Yea I saw a few of the zombies eyes were bright blue and at first I thought maybe they just missed a scene where they used a cgi face but the glowing fetus leads me to believe they have some kinda energy insides their corpse
Thought it was a great premise but totally wasted and lots of the stories beats lifted straight from the film Aliens
I couldn't turn my brain off enough to accept a lot of the issues I had with it. Batista was excellent though
Same here bro
what were the issues?
@@kdotshyne1893 I tried so hard too
@@chillydabears alpha zombies turn people into alpha zombies...the first zombie was alpha so why isn't every zombie an alpha? Just to name one issue
Why didnt Coyote toss the Queen head and hop on the Chopper..
When they could have just sent in Hiroyuki Sanada on his own, and he would have pulled it off too.
This was one of the worst movies I've seen in general in recent memory. The plot holes, dumb plot devices and clichés are so many and so bad that I could write an essay on why you shouldn't watch it. Seriously, don't watch it.
It’s not that bad to me in the moment but the more I think about it the more I don’t want to think about it , major and little plot holes during this whole thing
The characters decisions are so frustrating is was honestly hard to watch this movie. Lol
WTF.
@@willsmyth7184 yeah, from a point onwards i was so bored and annoyed with all the stupidity that I started browsing other tabs while it was playing on Netflix. Legitimately awful experience, especially when you think there are zombie movies that were made almost half a century ago that are infinitely superior to this pile of dung.
@@KroVey I like how they keep bringing up how much time they have until the nuke drops yet not one character ever shows an ounce of urgency. This is just one of the many reasons I did not like this movie.
I’d like to take a second to thank Jeremy for reminding me about How it Should Have Ended. That takes me back
Can anyone tell me what contradiction was he talking about?
I think he is taking about the beheading, not sure though.
Maybe you don't see the pilot as much because she replaced D'elia in post production
If Jeremy did not notice it, it must have been well made
This wasn't bad but when her scenes went I couldn't help running how the other actor would've done the part. She did well. I liked her and didn't think I would but still saw two versions of the scenes.
I wonder if Jeremy realizes his favorite character in the movie filmed all
Of her parts completely green screened and never met anyone on set. She replaced another actor. Filmed it all on her own.
Wow. Really??
@@mbrandon11 yep!!! I think she replaced fucking chris delia bahaha
Always did seem like she was talking to no one in particular.
What character was this?
@@kpookiejo3034 the helicopter pilot

*Team's cut:* 50M
If Tanaka made the objective getting the Head, mission would be much easier with no casualties. And he would be enjoying 1,950M instead of nothing.
