Cashing in for there families future, makes perfect sense, what happens to the Royalties when they pass? It's a way to cash in on falling Album sales as they get older and no longer tour to the same scale as they did a few decades back.

And we would all do it if we were in their shoes. Just don’t love the idea of one of the big record companies owning rights for the rest of time. But I do get it.

@@MusicByTheMeasures Think it's inevitable tbh, the big music corporations will eat up bands like Floyd as the music is timeless, the sales consistent and they have the infrastructure and means to keep the band relevant through re leases, collectors editions, live releases and streaming etc etc, have to remember the boys are all fairly old, so a nice fat pay packet for very little work and a financial pay day to leave to the family, i don't hate the big music companies, they have always been there, and i guess always will.

Interesting video. It’s just money though I suppose they wanna pass money onto their heirs? They can still make whatever music they want and like you say they’re going to be gone anyway.

For sure, and they have created a legacy and wanna see it last, can't fault them for that.
