I have photographed all these homes. I have been on many Kennedy Home Tours when visiting America. The last I had to see was La Gurieda at 1095 North Ocean Blvd in Palm Beach, Florida.I visited there in February of 2020. The Kennedy compound at Hyannis Port will always be the houses that remind me of them as there were so many photos taken there? I did a tour MANY years ago that showed all the Boston homes of all the Kennedy Clan...that started a lifelong love affair and a determination to see every home! Took 30 years and many, many hours of international flights but I did it!

Middleburg was my favorite although it was sad. Jackie’s appreciation for preservation, her personal taste, horses, her emphasis on privacy, intelligence, career, motherhood, and her patience with her husband were admirable to me. Only the Kennedys could have compounds🙄

I admire Jackie’s taste in home interior design, and fashion too. As someone who is not a fan of the trends of the 60’s and afterwards, Jackie’s taste imo was a pinnacle point in modern design. The reason is that she was not trendy but she was chic, and had a respect for classical taste that is bound to be timeless. Thus her style is defined by elegance, but understanding how it can be evolved in the future as forward thinking while giving a node to historical designs as a base for it to work in any period.
Imo, design in modern aesthetics has instead clashed as it follows more of the consumer market of creating quantity over quality and trends have been a waste of time and resources. That is something that I admire about the regions that respect historical architecture that knows how to improve a space without getting stuck only having to restart over. Lately, I give credit to the lockdown, more people are starting to relook at how they style their homes in a more beneficial way for both the homeowners in the long term and for the building. Jackie’s style imo is a great place to look for inspiration because she beautifully created each of her homes a blend with the old and the new without clashing, but balancing it just right to work together.

D'accord! Her taste, whether it be her personal style or her choice of interiors, was a perfect balance b/t a reverence to the classic/historical basis (design or architecture) and a restrained step into what is considered a "Contemporary" flair or influence, noting her affinity for designs by Oleg Cassini and Valentino, who both brought an innovative eye and classic training to their creations.
      Ils etaient parfaits pour Jacqueline!
However, I believe her GREATEST contributions were her restoration of the White House, reclaiming many of the home's antiques and original pieces for the project and truly transcending beyond its former looks to the heightened, transcendent, inspiring overall presence it deserved. We all owe Jackie for that accomplishment!
Jacqui's 2nd most remarkable and historic contribution was her plan for her husband's funeral. Using Lincoln's historic funeral as her guide. Jacqui, in the midst of unfathomable grief and shock, crafted her husband's iconic, military funeral procession, mass and burial. Altho I am sure she had assistance with all of this, her inspired vision (historic and appros-pos, given both were assassinated US presidents), her sense of duty to our nation and perpetuity, and, finally, her deep devotion to her husband are that of legends.
      Jacqui was truly amazing.

The first residence must be the most beloved, it was the Begining of their marriage.

Ms. Kennedy put a lot of time and effort into the restoration of the early 1960's and "twisted a lot of arms" to get cooperation from a lot of others beside herself..lol! My favorite would be the last home she and JFK would have. That was of their own creation. I am sure Jackie made most of the design but with her husband's desires included. She would have her horses and he would have a place to relax and enjoy the play of their children as the last of their home movies have shown. Unfortunately, that time was cut short. But it was the home they together build for themselves and that is why I pick it.

I also saw a picture of Lady Bird with in the Central hall residence with the very same Screen Dividers at the end as did the Kennedys. Just a thought? maybe she didn't want a lot of the stuff because she knew it would've reminded her of that time, and her husband.

I think most young people choose someone to admire. Nowadays it would be a musician or a someone from Love Island but when I was 10 or 11 years I admired Jackie Kennedy and wanted to copy her style and grace. I wanted to know her opinions on everything and remember watching the tour of the White House here in the UK. I still would want to emulate her today rather some celebrity star with tattoos and all the fake cosmetic surgery.

Jackie suffered a miscarriage and her next child was born stillborn. Then Hickory Hill was sold to RFK and Ethel Kennedy who had 3-4 children. Caroline was born a year or two later. JFK, Jr arrived 3 years later in 1960. While in the White House Jackie gave birth to Patrick, who died a few days later.

Politics and media and other predatory females sure set about tearing them to shreds".No show for punch without Judy."Not to mention Lyndon Johnston's and the FBI"s final barbaric act. Beautiful homes as expected..To think those same politicians are still in power today.and worse.
