Which bridge? The first coming up is over B257 road after rather slow Hocheichen, over 260 km/h indicated there. Then after slow Aremberg, already 180 under the Poststraße bridge, that is incredible. Regular cars go under 100 around the corner, and are only that fast further down in Fuchsröhre. Then, at the beginning of the Döttinger Höhe straight, Audi gantry with 300. Antoniusbuche bridge 329.

Crazy to think about. A laggy turbo 600+ horsepower beast of the 80s, with a 5-speed manual, no power steering and no ABS. The balls on Stefan to put down a lap like that with traffic. 40 years later it is still talked about regularly.

It was unrestricted but had a restricted top speed and this is also pretty similar. Even with that big ass wing, this could easily hit 400+. But still, 919 was mental!

I'm not a merc fanboy or anything, but this makes the AMG One lap more impressive. It has a full interior, and lap in damp-looking conditions.

They owe it to the engineers that built it to send it round a dry track in good conditions. Heck if you watch the lap there’s a section where’s there’s mud on circuit and he lifts off dropping speed from 250kph to 200kph when he could be flat out.

@@MrSlowly63 to be fair, with the current battery tech you can't really make the cars pretty light while also being super fast.
Maybe in 10-20 years we could have something that as powerful and light as a fuel-burning Elise but powered with electricity. Basically Gen 1 Tesla Roadster but 400kg lighter.

yeah but the battery energy wears out VERY fast. in the car screen you can see agreen bar which truogth the lap is wear out and in deep braking zone it fills (so i suppose is the battery indicator), 80% of that bar was drained at the end!

From the news, it got 70-kWh battery pack.
So, you can pull the juice out 70 kW for 1 hour, or 140 kW for 30 min. and so on.
For this, it drains 80% = 56kWh in 6 min 24 sec.
So, it would be smth like 500kW of power on average the whole lap.
500kW is smth like hundreds of average houses power usage.

this car by a quick check has 1500kw+ of power (2000+hp) so the 500kw of avarage power makes sense since there is the regenarative braking and the circuit is not of cuorse taken flat out

He took Bravery Corner at 200kph. That's about 125mph. To sustain that speed around that bend is terrifying.
Give how stripped out that thing is, with insane aero and slicks the fact it was only 6s quicker on a DRY track in comparison to the AMG ONE which did it on a damp track with parts of the track muddy and on Cup 2’s really speaks volumes of how good the AMG ONE is. AMG need to send it round once more to really show what it can do, they owe it to the engineers that built it.

I know EVs aren't as soulful, that this is a not-production-spec PR stunt, that we've all seen more than enough Nordschleife onboards over the years... but whatever. This is quite remarkable to watch and must feel truly surreal behind the wheel at full "throttle".

being only 11 seconds faster than road-going AMG-one on slick (!), with 2x the horsepower, likely more downforce and run being done on a dry track is far from remarkable.
The whole fuchsröhre part was mental. Warning big balls showed on the dash on the doettinger Hoehe.
That's incredibly fast, but Stefan Bellof was 13 seconds faster in 1983 😮💨 He is still the King of the Ring

Well the actual Lotus EVs currently on sale a rather big, heavy, bloated luxury cars, the Eletre and Emeya, which many people hate and claim they betray Lotus's history of making lightweight sports cars (while going constantly broke). But rumors are this Evija will also be followed be (relatively...) lighter weight smaller electric coupe and sports sedan models, which I'm good with if Lotus does eventually put those more fun to drive cars on the market.

@@tren133people that know lotus history should know they dont just make lightweight sports cars, they just make the lightest cars in their class while being at least somewhat functional. Not a fan of how the SUV is designed, but like, its better than the eclat

I was there, this was crazy!
One day, the human brain will be overwhelmed by the power and speed of these new/next gen cars. One day we will have Tool Assisted Speedruns (TAS), like in Trackmania Nations Forever, because only AI will be able to cope with the ridiculously small amount of processing time left for our brains to execute each maneuver during a track record.
it's 14sec faster than a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR, but the Lotus has 1300HP more. And the VW ID.R is still 20sec ahead although the VW is limited to a top speed of 266 kph.
on a damp track, 4 laps in total including 2 sighting laps and I suspect not running full power because of the conditions, Evija X has a lot more in it than this time but they did what they could with the time and conditions they had and still set a record.

@@f.d.robben159 It really doesn't. There is no way they ran with 1972hp and only managed to beat a GT2 RS MR on street tires by just 14s. There is no way they ran with 1972hp and managed no more than 343km/h on the straight. You'd need insane aero to create that much drag and that aero would mean much higher corner speeds. I suspect that they didn't run on full power, because the battery probably can't handle an entire lap of running at that power.

VW ID R only reached like 245km/h max and still was around 20 seconds faster. That shows how there's still potential to get much better times the next years
It also weighs something like 700 kg less than the Lotus, so I don't think the Evija will ever hit the cornering speeds the ID.R can achieve. It would be interesting to see if they can match the ID.R laptime though. Ultimately the Evija is eventually going to be sold in small numbers, so it can't just have a small 45 kWh battery like the ID.R, but needs a bigger 90 kWh battery (accounting for some of the weight difference) so it has decent range off the racetrack.
Well the idr uses slicks, so its way faster than the lotus. Its also a racecar and not street legal

I hope we could see the EVIJA X PROTOTYPE competing in 24hrs of Nurburgring very soon. The car has tons of potential.
wtf this is so damn unrealistic, dude the reglement will collide with thousands of ways how the car is built, with the power ofc, woth the fact that its electric, what class should it be in and most importantly, how do you think they will recharge or cool the car for THAT long
the car has a 70 KWh battery, really not a lot for the power it produces. Having like 2000 hp, about 1470 KW, it means that this car can go full power for about 3 minutes before fully finishing its battery. Sure, the battery recharges during braking but the car still accelerates a lot more than it brakes. Surely then, it's not suited for endurance racing.
For comparison, the IDR used 25 KWh for its attempt, but it also has less than half of the power of the Evija. I'm not sure the evija can even complete 2 whole laps of the ring.
That car doesnt fit in the 24h reglement. So no its impossible and non sense
