i installed this unit this weekend. you can keep the radio piece in with your vents. just remove the radio door. i also made two each holes on the brackets to bring the unit fowards about 3/4 of an inch
Nice installation guide John. Joying should be happy with you doing these videos. Mine ( 2DIN in a Golf MK4 ) still works like a charm after you put me on their path.
Agree its very bright but has alot of glare especially with top down. Also great for viewing diagnostics. Running hondata app and its great seeing all vitals instead of using phone
@@vimwelmillage4280 I did mine pin 3 is green/red the row on top of factory harness. Make sure you tap in with key 1 to make it work 😀 will be a posting a video of my s2000 radio soon
@@TheJDM626 hi, so its just as simple as key 1 wire tapped into pin 3(green/red) on factory harness and that is all to get steering wheel controls? I just ordered this unit.
Looks great man. I have a 72 240z I’m trying to find a kit that will fit. This unit may work but the dash is in a weird spot. The radio is so recessed and the heat controls are angled upwards. Essentially any single din unit I go with will need to really stick out forward of the casing. 🤦🏻♂️ maybe I can make some long stand offs for it to clear.
Thanks for an interesting review! You mention Android Auto but didn't get around to showing it. Since fall 2021 Android Auto was upgraded to support a split screen on wide screens so you can have two apps open 70:30 instead of the black square just saying "Android Auto". Does this unit support split screen in AA?
You guys sound like you're having fun. How are you going to be able to look at the controls on that head unit when you got the right foot to the mat and your twisting up about 8800 RPM damn it sound good too when it comes on about 5,500 almost Red Line Damn they're fun. Sorry got a little off topic nice head unit though
Just wish Joying didn't bury the volume control on their recent units into a tiny little area. It's okay if you have steering wheel controls, but horrible if you don't.
Volume button is on top right. Just press speaker and adjust. You click on it again to mute. Took me a while to get used to after volume knob but its not that bad
Hey John. I'm actually looking for something like this for my classic car. I need a 1DIN unit but the place to fit it is pretty low down if i want to have a rear camera. I would need to look down to look at it + everything else. Do you think if i buy longer IDE cable i could mount the screen on the dashboard and keep the main unit down? Would it work with the longer cable?
Taken from another video with the same din "You can hook up the dash controls by connecting the KEY1 cable on the radio to Pin3 on the car. The radio has a built in app to reprogram the dash controls" ruclips.net/video/5FxNK1bj3Ww/видео.html
how nice... they raised the price of it basically a hundred dollars from when you purchased it 🙄😬

also use wire key 1 from the joying harness and splice with green/orange wire from the oem harness and youll get oem volume control on the s2000
@@JBAEE6 Thank you so much! I'll let my friend know

i'm off of vacation back into the frying pan, I'm back to my regular upload schedule!
What would you recommend for wireless Android auto for a 2021 WRX. Dasiata or Joying?

Can chuck on a antiglare screen protector
Hey that's interesting. How do you connect it to the s2000? Are sensors required? Which diagnostics are you referring to?
Looks like a nice system but a bit unfinished looking in there...
The android head unit god is back again with another video. Hell ya.
Love the s2k!
I’m installing my iDoing head unit into my 2008 Honda Accord tomorrow morning! I’m super excited and cannot thank you enough for your content!!💯
let me know how it goes, i'm here to help!
You can use the stock audio controls with this unit. You need to connect pin3 to key1 i believe.
Where would pin 3 be exactly, trying to figure out for my car

can u still install the radio cover after this install?

Is there any cheaper versions that you would recommend?
Just needs a 3d printed surround to finish it off round the edges
Great video! I have been thinking about this head unit for my s2000 too

It looks awsome and I would love it in my s2000. Android 10 however is about 5(!) yrs old. So will it get any updates to a newer release?
You love to see it! 👀
I’ve been out of the car stereo market forever. So joying is a good brand?

Do they make a bezel to kinda clean up the edges ? Color looks great ! Very vibrant 😂
Get one 3d printed🫡
I would put a 3d printed cover for the side
Would love to!
Nice content, Just started following. Wondering if this would fit well in a 2005 prius🤔
can you link where you got the harness please? planning to install the same unit in my s2000 soon!

7:55 turbo go!
I saw that uk mod s2000 video with the different sizes! I definitely recognize that hill in the video🤣 what kind of speakers are you running?
Lol man I miss those days. He is running stock speakers
@@JohnNguyenVincent gotcha, just picked up some skar compound speakers, they should fit with adapter
What’s better the idoing 10.25 or the joying ultrawide
We're you able to use factory audio buttons with this still??
Think this would fit into a 2001 Plymouth Prowler?
за педаль тормоза бы её ещё поставил,чтоб изгибаться на 100 процентов а не на 99
I wonder which screen size I should put in my 2001 Plymouth Prowler???
I assume this will fit in a Honda del sol
What would you reccomend for Renault Scenic 2?
Can you make it auto start up Apple/android CarPlay or do you need to authenticate every time?
It's automatically goes into carplay. It only does the setup once
Hey John - have you had any issues with the unit since you’ve made this video? Curious about the longevity of the joying head units.
no issues with any Joying units that i had.
Can you still use the factory stereo cover after installing it?
Sure. Just close the door onto the screen
Or maybe try taking the screen off first
Do the steering wheel/dash controls still work?
Are you able to play RUclips on this?
His work not yours you threw buddy under the bus lol 😂
Any update after a couple of years? Also - did anyone hook this up to an amp for speaker output - what's it like?
Used it last week, works fine still. I only use carplay on it though
Did the side radio controls still work?
Is there a part number for that head unit
Can I have the link for the harness. Thanks
where is the radio cover ?
Do you know if that will play FLAC files?
Link for the harness. ill be doing this exact set up soon.

Yeah, maybe someone can 3D Print something
IDE omg really, they had nothing better laying around ?
It is $400 though
anybody tried this unit on a e36 or single din bmw
As soon as I saw 360$ I skiped the whole video.
Is that unit too big for the cover to fit? I kinda like my cover.
Yeah it's too big. :(
