Thanks for video. I have the same camera as well :) I bought a used focus motor but could not get it to work. There is a light on the motor which flashed red. What colour should it be when it working properly please. EDIT I discovered the problem was firmware. Although i was using the latest i had updated it with no focus motor installed. So ibrolled back to previous version and then updated again with focus motor plugged into the gimbal. Thid fixed the issue and when working properly the light on the motor turns green

Hi Rushay, did you check the cables on the RSC2 and Raveneye? Is everything correct? For me contacting to Raveneye’s WiFi does the trick, no extra settings and I don’t turn off Bluetooth.
Most phone holders don’t hold so well with the phone in the case. This is a nice and informative video. I just ordered this, can you tell me if the focus motor can be used as a zoom control also?
Hi Mike, You could connect the focus motor to the zoom ring of your camera, but I'm afraid your gimbal will get out of balance as your lens slides out further when you zoom (at least it does for me).
@@Josh-White to balance the gimbal with a 24-70 lens, zoom it to the middle of the zoom range in this case around 50mm, and them you could zoom in and out easly.
If I unplug the USB-C cable from the RSS/Camera port on the gimbal then I have the video input on the app but then I cannot start/stop recording via gimbal
For some reasons I couldn't get my DJI RSC2 combo to work with my Fujifilm XS10. The record button on the gimbal doesn't work. I need solution please. Any one with similar problem?
I did it exactly as shown here. If I just connect the HDMI cable and power the RavenEye, everything works. As soon as I plug the usbc / usb cable into my camera, the record button also works, but the live view no longer works. The normal menu displays etc. are transferred to my cell phone. I use a Nikon D7500 Do you have an idea what could be causing this?
@@Josh-White the other usb port didn't work at all. Do I maybe have to change a setting in the camera? As I said, only the live view does not work. when i go into the menu this is shown to me on the phone.
Nice video man, i was thinking to buy a follow focus motor but i could find any info about keyframe+follow focus. I mean any chance i can set focus motor for each keyframes on the app while timelapse or tracking video?
not impressed with the active track option. jerky movement plus composition/framing is messy. question: 1. Do you have to have raveneye to get the camera to feed and image to a monitor or your mobile phone? I don't like the active track so why buy the Raveneye?
Great Video, mate. Quick question, I have the RSC2. I purchased the Raveneye and have the new Nikon z30. I have also just received the Desview R6 UHB monitor. Are you able to do a video of how connect all of those?:) I have the RSC2, Raveneye and Z30 set up for a few weeks no problems, but the addition of the monitor has left me scratching my head:)
You are the only channel I found that mentioned the issue with the second port on the RavenEye - which I had to figure out by trial and error - so I know you most definately can help me here I see you have got Focus Motor via DJI App working well, and I presume you had to "calibrate" the focus motor like it requires in the app, but whenever I do it - it drages the end of the focus gear strap into the motor, or else it will push the end of the gear strap so far the other way, that it goes under the camera and starts causing problems! How did you get around this? Is there a certain position for the end of the gear strap to begin calibration? Hope you can help!
I also had to discover the raveneye port located on the opposite side after mounting the unit. The sketches in the instructions are hard to discern that port location, and you can’t easily see it once the unit is mounted. But hey, once you find it, all is well. I love this rig.
@@jwnrocks Agreed, for me right now it is a very specialized rig that I don't use too often but man when the need arises it gets the job done like nothing i've ever seen.. Hoping to shoot a bit of commercial work with it this week too
Great video mate! Have you tried it with a...let's say, 300mm-400mm lens? I suspect it will suffer?

Nice video, thanks for the review. I have a question, in real life and projects, how often you use the raveneye? I have mixed feelings about that, I think it’s a good idea but I don’t know if it’s practical in real life.
Hi Daniel, I just leave Raveneye on the RSC2 and that makes it easy to grab and use it. For my videos I use eg Raveneye + active track for my mirrorless camera and that works great. If you do want it later, you will probably pay extra. That's why I switched to a Pro combo bundle when I had the chance. Hope this helps!
I leave my RavenEye on all the time as it makes it easier to create videos with camera movement when alone. And that makes it super practical for videography. Plus the zoom motor makes it possible to film a client then zoom into another object during shoot.
Hello and greetings. A little tip here to help with your shots.. the reason the camera is struggling to keep up with you in the frame is that you have the ActiveTrack speed set to only 8. DJI recommends a higher speed around 20 to properly follow. This should keep you in the middle of your frame as the camera will move with you quicker at the higher ActiveTrack speeds. Happy shooting! 👍
I would say the motion of the gimbal using the tracking features is useless cause there’s no way that thing makes smooth movements. Also, you have to decide weather you want the dumb tracking feature or using the HDMI mini to connect the ninja V and do NLog 10 bit or ProRes RAW/BRAW
I totally agree with your comments about making the combo bundle better
I’ve been using the focus motor to control zoom on my Z mount lens. Works very well.

is the focus motor quiet? can I record the sound directly on the camera and you don't hear anything?
Can I use RSC2 and raveneye in combination with focus 3d? Or is it focus 3d only for rs2?

Hi Urbani, thank you for your comment and greetings from the Netherlands! 😃
Hi, I followed your setup but get a black screen on the phone instead of the video feed. What could be the issue? Firmware upgraded to latest.

Hi Michael, I think I had the same problem but solved it by checking if all of the cables are correct!
What do mean by briefcase handle?
I just got one I totally agree with you! Awesome review!
Can I use the focus motor for the zoom adjustment!
You might need to remake this video as you’re referencing the RSS port “third port on gimble” and then you go ahead and plug into the raven eye port?
I greatly appreciate your attempt on this as it has been the best video out of 6 so far that shows how to install the focus motor and RavenEye.
Thanks a lot Gem Webb!
