Most of the commenters here seem to have tried to share a different opinion with ST, but got the boot. Me too! When a creator offers controversial opinions on life-altering topics like Social Security and Medicare, they should expect questions, feedback and civil discourse. He clearly doesn't believe in himself or have the confidence in his opinions, so he deletes comments and blocks anyone he feels is going to expose his lack of real knowledge. A real expert relishes the opportunity to share what they know.
And a humble person acknowledges they don’t know everything and enjoys the ability to learn more. He deleted one comment on the pool video where someone asked why he left that place. What was wrong with that comment? He’s hyper-sensitive and growing more so.
Agreed. Life -altering is the key, I would be crushed to steer someone in the wrong choice of retirement.. Everyone needs to look hard and long at what works in their life.
Hello Howard, I'm a sub of Tim's and you're correct frequently his numbers do not add up. I'm 62 1/2 and plan to retire at 65 when I can get on Medicare. He doesn't seem to have much in assets but if that's the lifestyle one desires so be it. I hope his followers look closely at the numbers before they jump into the deep end. I just subbed to your channel, already saw a couple of videos in my feed I want to watch.
Please keep exposing this joker Sarasota Tim just wants to exploit people. He would take the last dollar from a person. Just lazy never worked an 8 hour day.
Tim had to take SS at 62 because the pandemic ruined his door to door salesman job when he turned 62. As he said at the time he was dirt poor and had no savings, no IRA, no 401K, no healthcare, never owned a house, always rented, many relationships, alcohol problem, no high school diploma. Now he thinks he is an expert to give advice to retire at 62. Another thing is he does not understand "Actuarial Life Tables" and thinks the average man who retires will live to only 73 on average.
There’s one key piece of info , alcohol problem. That can put at the bottom of the actuarial table. I thought once you reach say your late 60s those tables say you will keep extending your life. That more time means more longevity
I am glad you are making this video. My opinion of him he is a loser. I think he is a beggar . And I think he is wrong telling people to take their money at 62 and definitely wrong at telling wrong at telling people to take Medicare advantage. He’s living in a tin can because he’s been lazy his whole life.
You are a loser that knows nothing about providing for yourself. You have been dependent on working for someone your whole life. Real men provide for themselves with no help from another man. Being a business owner is the hardest thing in life to pull off. He is 10 times the person you are. You are the Beggar and slave to your boss. We' Business owners" laugh at your miserable take on life because you have trapped yourself to beg your boss for money and a day off instead of earning it yourself.@@wandabaxley4212
but.... NOW he says he has savings , in HIS words" I worked all my life I aint no BROKE dick",, funny how his story morphs as we go along, and yet these poor lonely cat people fail to see the changes and falsehoods..
I have been hurt believing him. And after watching him for a year and have seen him talk out the side of his mouth 😢 that’s what has let me down. Was glad to see this video, someone see it like me. Thank you.
I was hurt buy the fack that i fell for his angle. And i am a pretty quick study. He seemed so sincere when he was coming home with wolfpup. I am usually a no trust kind of guy. Anyway. He has shopping talents. His community is twice the size i live in. It has peaked. He is broke and struggling like most of us. One emergency away from disaster. Like the roof dealhe keeps pushing off on that camper. Warranty or insurance. Snd it all over yt. He opens every door to his business.
@@bertie-the-explorer , oh he ain't broke. In fact, his income has been going UP. Which is WHY he could buy that new truck, new camper, new phone, etc. He has several things going for him;-- youtube pays him for a channel that gets tons of views. Social Security pays him monthly. He does not pay rent, or hurricane insurance. He is a single guy with no dependents. He is living better than you might think. But he IS... in a camper. If a hurricane comes? He needs to take a road trip with it.
I saw the title and instantly watched you! I was watching him like crazy and also plan on 62... Maybe... But def my husband is... He physically just can't work not concentrate. So for those reasons it'll work. But I likely will keep pushing unless something interesting changes
Tim is 100% INCORRECT with his push of everyone taking SS at 62...and I've posted that he's wrong several times on his channel. But he persists in spewing that false information. I like his "crush it" and "live life" philosophy...but he's dead wrong about SS and it's dangerous for him to persuade everyone to take it at 62. Thanks Otto....for for speaking some common sense and honesty.
You are dumbfounded by financial advisors and the government. Here is an example. CD rates are 6 percent with online banks. The return on that way out performed the stock market the last year or more and you never heard a single financial advisor telling you to throw some cash into CD because they gain zero commission on that. The same goes for your retirement. They tell you what makes them the most money. They are not your friend. They want you to wait till your dead to get that extra dough because they lose you as a client You don't know the secret sauce and Tim and me are not going to tell you every detail on the reason to take social security at 62. If Tim told you every detail the system would take him out. Keep being unhappy and jealous. Keep working till your too old to do or want to do anything. I am sorry you trapped yourself in your way of life. The time is now for you to LIVE. Please downsize and star enjoying the birds in the morning with a cup of coffee
Tim is a lifelong buffoon. If it wasn't for YT, he'd be homeless. Now he abruptly fly's the coup having had stable place to live. He's a lifelong drunk loser
Great video. Keep them coming! I caught on to Sarasota Tim early on. He plays everyone for free stuff. He went camping for a month a spent more than half the days using free nights from subscribers. Snake oil salesmen.
And did not do a bit of work. He couldn't even hook his trsiler up for 4 days he drug ot around. Stressing the whole rig out. Mr Ben at the Gun Shop helped him. He did not hookthe new one up. He cant even back them in. Thats why he dont like non pull th campgrounds. Then he bad mouth them for having a checkouttime. He dont bad mouth his buddy at hampton. He dont mind leaving at 11 if the room is free. Pos at the finest.
@@bertie-the-explorer Idk anything about trailers. Would you please explain what it means that it “wasn’t hooked up” and he was “dragging it”? Thank you. 🙂
I posted to Timmy’s gift grab yesterday. Told him to pay forward some of those gifts. That’s what christians would do, especially during this time of the year. Let’s see if he practices, what he preaches.
If Tim is such a Christian, why has he never posted a video of the church he goes to, or even mentioned it, he post video's of everything else he does, my guess is he has never been in a church, at least not in years.😮
@@Michael-Joseph123He doesn’t go to church and the issue has been brought up. His globules in the comments defend him by saying you don’t have to go to church to be a believer. And you can’t argue with that. But I have seen ZERO evidence of him doing any Christian acts or even any basic good human acts. The only thing he ever pointed to was helping someone figure out the parking app to pay for their parking. Whoopie doo.
@@vincentdsnt If he were a true Christian he would be promoting Amazon Smile, which benefits charities, instead of begging people to use his PAID Amazon link.
ST knows people are talking about him on other sites. He claims he kicked people out because they said he was “stupid”, “an idiot”, or his videos were “boring”. Now he posted a birthday video where the hardworking property owner made a corned beef dinner and homemade apple pie. They sang to him and she served him the first slice of steaming hot pie. He started right in eating, without waiting for her to serve her husband and herself. Freeloader with no manners.
Tim had 2.7 million views in August, but his channel has been free falling since then. In November his monthly views were 903,000. Still pretty good, but it looks like his audience is growing wise to him and in another year he'll be back at Food Lion hawking free samples of unhealthy food.
You are right. It actually was going down when Tammy hit the scene. Then they fought for 5 weeks on vaca. His views have tsnked. Its a decent side hustle at between 10 and 15 cents per view. He will spend it faster than he makes. He canot tell me you got to Walmart 40 straight days and not be on some debt. I do not believe for one minute he is debt free. Not even counting the covid loan he used on trucks and campers. That is stealing from the government to me.
@noreenn6976 Don't start lol 😂😅 she probably thought, because he talked about stix and bricks or getting a condo, that was the plan. Then he blew 40,000 grand on ANOTHER camper which could've alone paid for rent for 2 yrs on a nice place. Ppl don't change unless forced to, she must not have influence on him like I would on mine if he did it.
Tim appeals to a different class of people. People who are looking for the easy way out. Tim offers them that. Same type of people who fall for the 'get rich quick' and MLM scams.
Understand, people can make videos for whatever reason. But Tim is putting out information that can hurt people near retirement, like when to take Social Security and Medicare Disadvantage plan's. We know that every situation is different, but I would hate for somebody make a decision based on his opinion that can not be easily reversed. Pease!!
He took a covid loan out from what he shares. 300 a month for life. Backed up on a friend's property calling himself a property mgr. He does have big dreams. His channel has leveled off. He is a slickster and sells snake oil. People suck up to this fake for some reason. He has been o. Memory lane for 3 days due to views crashing. He is a ok guy. His ego is bigger thzn life and he waffles and talks out of both sides of his mouth the worst. I wish him well but am glad you are here.
He should thank us taxpayers for his Covid loan and workers in our prison job for his $1800/mo. SS check. With his work ethic he must have paid jack squat into SS unlike most of us.
Good video. I agree that Tim is not a trained financial advisor. He's more like a motivational speaker. I think he knows that. He is simply trying to make a living telling people who made the same mistakes, reckless retirement planning, that you can scrape by on a meager SS check. My view is that he is attempting to do what Bob Wells does. And that is to make the best of a very bad situation. In his case, he made some terrible life choices and ended up without any kind of reliable retirement. But now he has a way to make money on RUclips, and with his high energy personality, he is probably now making a decent income. At least for now. He is a good salesman, which is not necessarily a compliment if you get people to buy into bad financial planning. I think we can agree that he is selling a very dangerous approach to retirement. Salesmen have to exaggerate facts and remain positive at all times, which for him means blocking any and all negativities and counter opinions. People, please do not try to emulate his path. Terrible advice for most of us, because most of us aren't salesmen and can't launch a successful RUclips channel. He found his niche. And people seem to enjoy it. Thank you for making this PSA and please keep it up. He is not speaking from a position of expertise with regard to retirement. He is simply trying to make you feel better about the mess you have made of your life by poor planning. As even he would say to himself, never take financial advice from a "broke dick". His words, not mine.
If only he would be 100% up front and humble about his poor choices as an example of what NOT to do, it wouldn’t be so bad. But he doubles down on telling people SS is a scam, take it early, get yours. Back-pedaling by making smarmy statements like “you can’t believe a damn thing I say,” “don’t take advice from a broke dick,” and “one thing I got is plenty of money” is more than just cringe, it’s disgusting. Someone’s financial future isn’t fodder for jokes and slimy quips.
head: As I have said, I don't begrudge ST making some money off of YT with his folksy charm and life stories. I still do, however, criticize him for giving very poor financial retirement advice and speak from a place of ignorance on those topics.
@@RandomizedLife822 I can't disagree with you. But my gut feeling is that he finally woke up and realized he has made a mess of his life. I give him credit, he stopped drinking, a good thing if you are an alcoholic and have no reliable income or savings. But people with drinking problems have a difficult time admitting they have failed their families and themselves. Hopefully Tammy can live with her kids when she gets tired of living in someone's driveway.
OMG! Now Tim posted a video opening the Christmas cards and gifts viewers sent to his new post box. One gift is a leather caddy to hold remote controls and phones. He exclaimed, “I know what it is! We had one IN THOSE CABINS THAT WE RENTED.” The cabins where they stayed free is the truth. He’s just too much. He even lies to himself. And he made sure to tell everyone that his birthday is on the 29th. What a POS.
Says his birthdate AGAIN. How many times has he repeated it? Plus gives the PO Box again because I guess having it posted in his bio is not enough. Grifters gonna grift.
@@RandomizedLife822 That trailer is going to be so cluttered and weighed down it won’t be feasible to go on any trips. The arm rest between his reclining theater seats opens up to store remotes, so he doesn’t need a caddy, but he admired it in the free cabin. Grifters gonna grift.
@@Michael-Joseph123He made a separate short about it. Told people in a video about the short. Added the address to his “about.” And gave the address again in today’s video. @@玩具妈妈 Well everything is online. Books are more for decor of real high end intellectuals, you see them getting interviewed on TV all the time. I would use the term 'winging it' with Tim. He-He.
I have watched Sarasota Tim. I clicked onto your video because I like to listen to both sides. What I think is everybody situation is different. For Tim's situation maybe he is working out fine. I think he turned 65 which made him elegible for medicare. For me I prefer to keep health insurance through my job as long as I am able. If you retire at 62 you will need some kind of insurance to cover that 3 year gap. I don't have a problem with Tim living in a camper. I would prefer a paid off home. I think Tim was forced by circumstance to take retirement. It's also been my experience with coworkers who retired and passed away within 2 years. So l think everyone can listen to both sides. Look at their personal situation and make a determination what is best to do.
That is the point. Tim has vaguely referenced he was a bum all his life (or others have figured it out and called him on it), so he is being disingenuous when he says he is taking SS early because of the "lifestyle" rather than necessity
I have watched his channel. The guy is a typical used car salesman. He lives free and pays no rent, does works under the table and milks RUclips. Then he tells people that they can live carefree on social security. The guy is a scammer.
His videos are a waste of time. Today, had to endure two Bucees videos with mobs of people milling around this garish retail environment. No self respecting minimalist would ever frequent such a place. The one video he was scarfing down a burrito, the other, he was strutting around with his camera talking to people and acting like a celebrity. Pitiful
Well today he moved on from "Property Manager". He packer up and is on the road to were ever. He did not say. But he left Boynton Beach, and is towing the 25FKBS down the road!! I gotta see this! Lol
He got 22k views on that video and gained 300 subs. He's on the move now! Said he would never return to that area. Leaving all friends and family behind
It had already leveled off. It grows a bit. He got a surge yesterday. My prediction is he wont make it on the rosd. He already ssid he is leaving his camper in Jacksonville and driving. Agree with you 100%. Everyone’s situation is different. Especially those of us with a spouse that would prefer to maximize the benefit for her when I’m 6 feet under!
There’s a financial expert RUclipsr who made a video referencing Tim. He’s trying to help a woman whose husband just died after taking Social Security at age 62. hahaha.......Love this video. I have been listening to ST for a while, mainly for a good laugh. His comments on Medicare Advantage Plans are so wrong. I have called him out about the Dis-Advantage plans, but he has not blocked me yet. I totally agree that he has not planned for retirement and uses this to justify why everyone should take SSI early. Retirement is not having a side gig (In my opinion).
Tim keeps hinting that he is debt free, but in a video almost 2 years ago he said he took a 40k payroll protection act loan for 30 years, and used it to buy the 16 foot trailer, and he has since traded the truck even up on a different truck, and he used the 16 foot trailer on a trade in on a new trailer, and they gave him 10k off the 40k trailer, so he only had to finance 30k, so he financed a truck and a trailer for 30 years, and then financed another 30k, this guy should not be giving out financial advice.

He says he had a very lucrative job selling coupon books. 3 days a week and a few hours a day. But never made more than 40k a year. A recent video he pump it up to 50k. Tim did a video today with him opening Christmas cards and presents from what he calls 'his community'. Who opens presents well before Christmas? Sarasota Tim. What a guy.
He’s also wearing a very nice $800 watch and jokes in another video telling people not to be cheap. Wouldn’t a Christian or a basic caring human being tell people not to send him gifts because he can clearly afford to get what he needs and instead ask them to donate to a charity?
New subscriber here; great video! I laughed when I listened to his sales pitch. I even commented as to why anyone would take financial advice from someone living in a tiny trailer. He took great offense, especially calling it a trailer. lol He is insecure and immature. But there are people commenting who are doing what he says and this is what is upsetting. A minimalist who owns a $40,0000 truck AND a $40,000 trailer. What a joke.

I have 2 401k plans and some cash savings but my theorie is what if i have a health event or get hurt and cant side hustle. That 1700 a month is not going to do it. I plan to retire at 65 but not take my SS until 67 or maybe push it until 70. We dont know when our time is up but i like to plan for living a long life.
Who wants to work a crappy job pushing samples at the food mart. I see those people every time I go to Costco. They don’t look like they are having fun. Personally I retired at 58, pension, cars and house paid for and a modest 401k I’ll wait for social security until 70 and collect more than 3k. I’ll call THAT “crushing it” Tim’s a con man
There's no way to retire at 62 without a 401k, health savings acct or/and pension. You'd barely survive. You had a plan, all folks need one. Winging it like Tim is gambling.
Good plan...bridging the 62 to FRA or all the way to 70 gap years with your pension and then maximizing your SS payments. And during those years before taking at 70...that $3000 will get the yearly cost of living adjustments. AND...if you are married, your wife can get an additional half of that $3K...or her own, whatever is larger. Indeed...your plan is "crushing it."
I want to see how his advantage plan will work out of his network and that premium he will have to pay. Leaving because it's an open market out there, more people for his con game.

Great video that exactly reflects my personal feelings. Tim is fun to watch but it drives me crazy how he gives inaccurate and incomplete social security and retirement advice. I posted a comment that started with “May I respectfully offer a different opinion” and got blocked.
He has a right to his opinion, I have watched a couple of his videos, but he’s not for everyone. Certainly not for me. I plan to retire at my full retirement age because I’ve worked out that it is what will be best for me, especially as a widow. It isn’t one size fits all. You have to be able think for yourself. He also encourages Medicare Advantage, which is a nightmare in itself if you really look at it. I got a gap plan after a lot of research and conversations with other people. Most of us don’t want our kids having to take care of us. I work two part time jobs and I enjoy them both.
He is not putting up a disclaimer saying , I’m not a financial advisor these are my opinions…. He should, this is detrimental. Many of his followers might retire early and it might not be in their best interest to.
I noticed that Sarasota Tim DRIVES while he makes his video's. In Florida, that is against the law. He's not only giving out bad data, he's breaking the law on a daily basis (and he records his law breaking adventires). He is NOT a high information speaker.
I commented that on several occasions. As a senior he needs to be paying more attention to the road. He's going to wreck one of these times. There's no reason he has to record videos while driving. He's just so desperate for views and YT pay, he's just constantly making videos.
I used to watch his channel but he never shuts up. He likes to hear himself talk! I think his girlfriend Miss Tammy should move on. It’s all about him. I used to get sick of hearing him say at the end of his video to “Crush it” His subscriber numbers are giving him a big head 😂 so I Unsuscribed. I really don’t miss his channel at all.

Retirement is an individual thing. My Father worked in a factory and stood on his feet up to 10 hours / day. He saved his money and at 62 he got out because he couldn't do the job any longer. A lot of us are professionals that sit in a comfortable office environment and can last longer. Sarasota Tim refers to trading money for freedom even if it takes living in a 25' trailor.
scott: No one, least of all me, misses the point that some people simply can't do their job any longer, due to either physical or mental situations. That doesn't mean though that people have to start their SS benefits immediately upon retirement. The whole point is to save money for retirement and have the luxury of choosing when you want to start SS benefits and not do so because you have no other choice. You said your father saved his money. Did he start SS benefits at 62?
tim is 100 % right the math is right iv known lot people died before 65. plus from age 62 to 70. are body's change we slow down .im taking mine at 62. good luck to all.
hunter: Tim doesn't understand the math. He doesn't understand life expectancy tables and he doesn't understand saving for retirement. The risk is not dying young and leaving money on the table. The risk is outliving your savings or living on a small SS benefit while 80, 85, or 90 years old. Give me your details and I can help you make an informed decision.
@RetirementTalk43 yep, a 28.5% smaller cola raise everytime there is one, for the rest of your life if you take SS as soon as you turn 62, or something like that.

You forgot to mention, he even showed what underwear he buys at Walmart😃and then when people ask a personal question, like, where is Tammy, he gets all pissy with his audience.
You need to remember he is living a scary existence and his fate is to work the rest of his life to survive. He makes it sound like retire early broke and just work a side gig , well a side gig at 75 and beyond is a pipe dream. @@beautyRest1
I used to watch Sarasota Tim; dumbfounded by what he PROSELYTIZED; moreso as he persists in spite of user comments (including mine) to the contrary; occasionally I'll tune in to see him CRUSHING IT with chicken, wings and fries for dinner at Tiki Hut; indeed, math is not his forte; reality is there's alot of people in his situation looking for salvation; Tim's their Messiah; another Tammy Fae...
Go back and watch the end of the video of the fries and wings, after he reaches over to grab a fry, the old guy at the end of the table appears to shack his head in disgust, I bet he is starting to get on everybody's nerves walking around recording everything.
Not a subscriber to ST but have watched several of his videos. I took SS at age 65 and my FRA was exactly 66. I certainly wished I could have gone at age 62 but my finances were not where I wanted them to be, and the lack of reasonable health insurance was even more daunting. I have commented a few times on Tim's channel about the steadfast suggestion of taking it at age 62 and it is all and fine if a person would be able to cover his monthly needs on SS income at age 62 or whatever early age they picked to draw and do so without continuing to work. So, unless one has a reasonable retirement portfolio in conjunction with the bill paying ability of an early age SS benefit then it would probably be best to wait until things were more stable in that regard. I could readily cover my monthly bills at age 65 with my generous SS payment and Medicare was available so that was my choice. This a very personal decision but people need to really think about the whole issue thoroughly before making the move.
I love Sarasota Tim! Young people, invest your money ASAP, keep moving, have children, don’t drink and don’t buy what you don’t need so you can’t be debt free at middle age. Debt is cancer!!!
@@bertie-the-explorerI disagree on the owning the house part, don't want to be paying rent when collecting SS, one of my SS checks pays my taxes for the year, with money left over, if I was to rent, it would cost me half my check every month, when you rent you have to pay the owners taxes, plus however much profit he want to put in his pocket, they don't do this as a hobby.
In short Tim is a perfect example of Misery loves Company. He just hates that people have planned their retirement and have more than him. His chatter about having a prison job is so rude to workers, it makes me crazy those people have money and buy homes such as the one that he parks his trailer in the driveway.
The funny thing is his comments on your prison job, but he seems to spend all his waking hours video taping his daily life, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing video's of bathrooms in different businesses he goes into.

I think it depends on whether or not you already have serious assets that can transfer to CASH. If you are fairly well off? You can take it early. Sell your house and supplement your SS income with money from the house. If you are flat broke? I think taking social at 62 is probably a mistake. I also think millions of folks are just like me;-- I am gonna take it at 62 and run. Whatever future I have? I know it will be FREE. I ain't working' for corporate America not one more damn day. I am not retiring: I am ESCAPING.
If your health is good just get a different job. What could happen if you draw early is that you find out just how far that small paycheck goes and you have to go back to working some crap job to supplement your small SS check. Stay in the game just switch gears to something better and wait a little longer to draw so you don’t regret it.😊

Because I stumbled upon ST videos on social security and did my research it made perfect sense for me to take mine early. Just started getting it this past January. 3 months shy of being 63. Originally I thought I would wait til full retirement but after doing the math for myself it made more sense not to wait. But you see I was no longer working anyways sense I’ve been a stay at home wife for well over 12 years now with no plans of going back to work. But even if I decide to work I can make up to 22,000 for the year. My husband has always been the main supporter financially for us so yes he is still working. He’s only 63 and will wait maybe not to full retirement but close. So I am glad I did come across his video for this reason otherwise my money would just be sitting there. I also informed two of my other friends who aren’t working and don’t plan to to get there’s now which they have. As always everyone should do their own research and decide for themselves what is best for them as Tim has done.
@@RetirementTalk43as I mentioned my husband is the one who supports us financially so this made sense to take my SS now and him wait til close or til retirement age. As it is we are using mine to pay off our mortgage early and that will be done in September.
I’ve watched a few ST videos and came to the same conclusions as you and many of the other folks comments here. Noticed recently that he’s talking about SS less frequently. I think he knows those that have called him out on his “math” are correct.
Tim is boring, I agree. I retired at 66, in May 2019, I didn't hate my job. I knew I wanted to work and would need to part time after I "retired". Retirement is not about not working, If someone retired at 62, they would be taking a big cut and if you chose to work a part time job, your social security would be cut. I had a friend that retired at 62 and chose to take her ex husband's ssi of $500/mo. Go figure. Her house paid for but $500/mo would barely pay utilities. So guess what, she is back working full time at age 73 (?) b/c she couldn't make it. If Tim lived in VA, he would have to pay state income tax.
It's just his opinion .. Everyone has one. Tim makes that clear. At least to me, he does. I don't have to listen to him. Also, nobody has to save or help anyone from Tim's opinions . I like his videos, and i like yours . Just opinions.....easy everyone.

Tim admits he has been a business owner gone bankrupt and an alcoholic. He lost his income after the bankrupcy and had to live in a camper trailer in a neighbor's driveway. He was forced to work minimum wage jobs to supplement his meager social security income. Now he is earning and spending every penny of his RUclips income and his social security income has deteriorated because it exceeds the maximum income limit. Another success story lol.

@@lindag4456 Maybe they were naive or didn’t pay proper attention to the possible repercussions when he was doing it, and then got upset after the fact.
I think the cost analysis has changed remarkably in the last 3 years. The govt and their economic managers have decided to further devalue the dollar and explode the debt to monetize their low interest rates and boost assets. however , the COLA for SS recipients are based on intentional flawed CPI numbers. The FED has found one way to pay for the debt and the govt programs. Pay it in ever devalued dollars. And it’s going to accelerate . So, taking your SS at 70 is likely the most prudent thing to do considering this is one. variable you can control in a world where the national debt has exploded from 8T to nearly 34T in 15 years. those are the real numbers. Take the extra 32 percent in SS at 70. delayed gratification has it price but just rewards as well
@@RickMartinRUclips The difference the FED and worlds reserve currency the dollar is what carried that inflation to the rest of the world currencies not the other way around. Locking out Russia from the swift system as a means of economic war and restricting trade in dollars. They are a major source of economic blood called oil and food production of wheat. I dont like consolation of that we are the least affected when we initiated and produced that with increasing our money supply by 40 percent and at the same time , producing 5T in spending stimulus in the name of a pandemic. these arguments are in protecting the SS benefit which is denominated in dollars, designed by management to paying benefits and the national debt in devalued dollars. 2nd place in consolation is for losers. Apathy is also for losers.
bbustin: So if you are saying that the government has decided to devalue the dollar (without directly doing so) are you saying they purposely created inflation to do so? Then, when you say they "exploded" the debt over the last 15 years, are you saying the Obama, trump and Biden administrations colluded together to do so??? How does increasing the debt, " monetize their low interest rates and boost assets???? You are also saying that the BLS, over the last three administrations colluded to print fraudulent CPI numbers? How would they do that and why? You say the Fed, " found one way to pay for the debt and the govt programs.." However, the Fed is not responsible for paying for government debt. I am having a hard time making sense of any of your statements.
@@RetirementTalk43 Yes that is exactly what I’m saying…. The congress in collusion with the FED is paying the bills with further devalued dollars. Buying 20-30 percent less with your dollar… is an indirect inflation tax. It’s not voted upon as defined by the constitution, It’s a methodology by which politicians of both parties pay for their never ending programs. the FED provides the currency by which is accomplished. You don’t go from 8T to 34T national debt and 8T up from 2T on the FED balance sheet by magic , raise interest rates the fastest in American history for no reason. Inflation is out of control. The interest on the national debt is resetting to the higher rate and is now going to exceed the national defense budget at 1T. Not touching the principal. The administration is using the dollar with the dept of treasury “former Fed Chsirman Yellen “ as an economic weapon. Creating a new division where other countries will try to eliminate the dollar as their trading currency. doesn’t mean the dollar goes away , it means it gets devalued . Hence the danger of SS dollar buying power being diminished at a very rapid rate. The CPI has been manipulated by different compositions they choose to set the COLA , And the last 3 years gives them even more motivation to do so. You find resources like “shadow stats” that will give you more than enough data on this subject.
Great advice. I think every year past FRA until 70 your SS increases by 8% every year you wait. That in itself is a pretty good inflation buster. You made some good points to ponder.
@@heymoe1179 the one year when it was a 8.9 percent cola increased it further. The most important is that it’s compounded each year on your last benefit year. They say it’s 32 percent over about 3 years. It’s going to hit that easily. That’s one reason they lowered the interest rates. It was blowing SS COLA shy high Can you imagine nearly 9 percent increase every over say 3 years? Just the interest on the national debt is resetting in the next year going to be 1T. to exceed the national defense budget. And one of the largest line item on the fiscal budget. They are going to borrow and spend another 2T next year. inflation is NOT going away. Transitory inflation due to supply chains and pandemic was the cover story until it couldn’t be. This is the story.
What ST does not understand is that by increasing your SS benefit by delaying, when you begin collecting you immediately start enjoying a higher amount and will continue to do so for the rest of your life. Like you say, if you can afford to delay it then do so.

Agree, and if you have to supplement SS with a part time job now, you could have to supplement SS with a part time job in 15 years, but it is different for everybody, I took my SS at 62 and still work part time, but I have a small pension, and a large 401k that I haven't touched since I retired from my career job, and I am still putting away money, which might change when my younger wife retires.
@RetirementTalk43 because we don't owe one dime on anything, and I know that if we had to, we could survive on just our SS and my small pension. I was second guessing myself when I decided to take SS at 62, and not use some of my 401k until I reached full retirement age, but know I wonder how my 401k would look if I was taking withdrawals, and the dow was taking the big hit, taking withdrawals while the stock market is down, is like selling low, it would not have deleted my 401k, but I would have less money in investments for the rebound, so it worked out OK, and the one thing about having money, anything you don't use while you were alive can be left to your children, SS can not.

I figured Tim out very quickly. He’s a Salesman and always has been. I listened to his philosophy on taking SS early and the only reason would be if you’re in poor health, otherwise keep working longer and stay in the game. It will pay off in the end with a larger monthly paycheck amount. I’m 62 but will wait until 66 and start drawing. At 66 you can earn way more and not be penalized as much until you reach 67 which is full retirement age for me. Sarasota Tim is like a kid in a candy store with RUclips. He’s sorta of hyperactive and makes too many videos. Now he’s into getting sponsored hocking other stuff in almost every video. I think his reasons for quitting work and drawing SS is more because he did it and you know what they say about people who make mistakes. Misery loves company. I personally don’t know anyone who wants to live in a small RV, unless you’re wealthy and want to travel. I don’t see him doing that. His first trip out was a disaster and both of them got deadly sick and almost had to turn back. Anyway don’t draw to early especially if your going to keep working and making good money because you will have to pay back 1/2 of the SS you received because your not at full retirement age yet and. Note, you wont lose that money because it goes back into the pool of money you have to draw from when you reach full retirement age. Also they will recalculate your check amount again at full retirement age because you kept working and paying in more money while you were collecting, so that’s a positive thing.😊
I watched Sarasota Tim for a little while. I did comment several times about his rants about taking SocSec @ 62, my take on it is, everyone's individual circumstance is unique. I was laid off at 55, just turned 60 this year, but still, to me personally, taking SocSec at 67 at the earliest (my FRA), and depending on how things are then, may delay to 70. SocSec is a "longevity insurance" in my mind, if everythng else goes to pot, I figure it's best to have the most from SocSec you can have. He also ranted about Medicare --> he was tilting heavily toward Advantage Plans, I also commented on those, that people should fully understand whichever path one chooses. Yes, traditional Medical with a Supplement Plan IS more expensive up front...However, you and your Dr. are in control of your care, if your Dr. says something is medically necessary, that's it. Medicare covers their 80% and the Supplemental covers there part. There are no arguments, delays, denials, etc. And we use healthcare a lot more as we age...The videos were always the same.
Agree. I'm 65 and don't take SS. As you know, our monthly SS check increases roughly 8% each year we can wait. I know some people have no choice and have to take it at 62. I like his "crush it" and "live life" philosophy...but he's dead wrong about SS and it's dangerous for him to persuade everyone to take it at 62. Thanks Otto....for for speaking some common sense and honesty.
hey: Keep fighting the good fight.

Overdue critique - of the Sarasota Dictator!

As always everyone should do their own research and decide for themselves what is best for them as Tim has done.
cinna: Do you have any reason to suspect that you will die before the average life expectancy for your age? Why did SS at 62 make sense financially?
@@RetirementTalk43as I mentioned my husband is the one who supports us financially so this made sense to take my SS now and him wait til close or til retirement age. As it is we are using mine to pay off our mortgage early and that will be done in September.

Take the extra 32 percent in SS at 70. delayed gratification has it price but just rewards as well
@@RickMartinRUclips
The difference the FED and worlds reserve currency the dollar is what carried that inflation to the rest of the world currencies not the other way around.
@@RetirementTalk43
Yes that is exactly what I’m saying….

I find it ridiculous for him to continue to go by Sarasota Tim when he's not in Sarasota anymore. I used to be neonguy528, but when I sold my Dodge Neon, my name changed. Just common sense.
He thinks he has a brand with good awareness.
You owned a NEON??
@@casmithc2 Yes. 03. I heard there was some Mercedes Benz technology in it. They owned Chrysler from 98-07.
I called out Tim on some bad info and was promptly shadow-banned. If you retire at 62 and have to work a 'side hustle' to survive, are you really retired? What happens when you get too old or get ill and can't work the side hustle?
Exactly! I said the same thing to him and he blocked me. He doesn't like to be confronted, as I have said he is totally insecure.
@@lee9604 It goes beyond being insecure. He is a grifter, his goal is to make money any way he can. He can't have counter arguments.
What is shadow banned?
@@RickMartinRUclips Accurate description. If you ever wonder if you are shadow-banned, make a comment on a video while logged in to RUclips. Then log out of RUclips and go back to the video. If you don't see your comment, then you are shadow-banned.
Yes, his later years are going to be rough, but not as rough as Tammy's. Hopefully she can move in with her kids. The RUclips gig is shaky at best. People should be wary of following advice from someone who has a made a total mess of their lives thru poor retirement planning. I would hate to live on someone else's driveway at age 70, or any age really.
He is taking his Apple Watch back now. Said he doesn’t need it . Alls he does is buy things and than returns them. If someone sends him a free one I’m sure he will keep it.
Would a minimalist buy a be iwatch ? NOPE
@@RickMartinRUclipsHe needs those feel good moments to convince himself he’s not a loser.
Tim is a 'live for today' guy.
Which is why he’s envious of people who have more than he does.
Tim is a 'live for today' guy. That is because he can't afford tomorrow.
@@vincentdsnt HaHaHa
It's a different viewpoint ...we all can't live forever...so have fun when you can.
I am having fun but then I planned to have fun while retired. To have to work till I die is not fun, living in a trailer in someone's drive is not fun, he can candy coat it till the cows come home and people can think he is living this great life but $1700 a month is a joke, no house walking the dog MFer is just that you have a dog. @@jimmywalters3071
His latest SS video is the most egregious yet. Even if you buy into his convoluted theory, his math is not even correct.
Never mentions anything about waiting will get you at least a 30% larger cola raise every year for the rest of your life.
@@Michael-Joseph123 ??????
@togger2151 I fixed it, I left out the word larger, you will get a 30% larger cola raise every year.
It"s fun to listen to what he has to say,(Sarasota Tim)! We all know that everybody's situation is different. If you can afford to wait it out and get it started then by all means do so! I don't always agree with everything he says, but depending on your individual situation sometimes it would be better to take it early for some people! Always keep in mind that some people don't need as much as others to live! But each to his own when it comes to that! My situation is different from his and probably yours and everybody watching this video! That's why this is the greatest country on earth. We all are entitled to our own opinions! Great video and I'll be a subscriber if you will let me, lol!
@reliablesanitationservices3344 'That's why this is the greatest country on earth. We all are entitled to our own opinions' Except on Sarasota Tims site he will delete you super rapid only adulation towards him is allowed. He must be working his 'prison job' night and day reading and deleting what he considers unsavoury comments that are simply opinions. He will grasp anyone or situation basically they become his props to film to keep the RUclips money coming his way. He expects gifts with little gifting to others from him. lots of me, me, I, I. he comes first and last....
@@Mrpegs1 I'm old enough to remember the Beatles' song "I Me Mine."
Lol More of a 'Strawberry fields forever' type myself. Good to see you here... @@Spucky50
reliable: I will certainly welcome you as a subscriber. Yes, we all have different situations and all have different decision paths as to when to start SS benefits. And while Tim has the right to make mistakes in his life, it bothers me that he claims that waiting to start SS benefits is a "scam" and that the government is somehow trying to trick you. Worst of all, he has convinced others to make what may be bad decisions for their own lives.
@@Mrpegs1 Sadly, you are correct.
Tim is preaching wayyy to much now that miss Tammy gave him the boot.
😂😂
I certainly agree with you about Sarasota Tim. You say you’re retired and waiting to draw SS. Your wife is still working. Would you be able to wait on filing if you were single? Having a spouse still working provides a much different perspectives and options IMO
Bill: Even if my wife wasn't working, I would still be retired and waiting until 70 to start SS benefits. My expenses would certainly be a lot less.
@@RetirementTalk43 I meant no disrespect. I was just curious if you would differ in plans if there wasn’t addition income coming in. Thank you. Also, could you do a video that tells your background experience? How’d you get so knowledgeable about retirement and SS? Thanks again
@@billschilling9938 I never thought your comment was disrespectful. You made a valid point. Had my wife and I not saved a substantial amount of money and we both retired, we probably would have been forced to both start SS. However, if we hadn't saved money in that scenario, we probably would not have retired. And that is the key point ST misses.
