On Sept 22, 2023 Angelina Jordan had her USA debut concert at the "Music House" in Portland, NH, to a sold out crowd from 38 states, and 4 countries. One couple came all the way from Peru. The venue stated that this amazes them because it has never happened before in the recent history of the building. Angelina sang 18 songs including some from her new EP called "OLD ENOUGH" The highlight of the evening was when she sang "Unchained Melody" It was one of several songs that received a standing ovation, but this one brought the house down.Some people were seen crying, it was so emotional. People were screaming, hollering, whistling, and the clapping went on for several minutes. Angelina was truly in her "GODDESS" voice for that beautiful, rendition. There is a rumor going around that her next concert will be somewhere in Europe for Christmas

I agree too. This is the first time I see such an in depth comprehension of who Angelina is really, not only a singer but a giver of pure comfort and healing through her music. The best example for me is her rendition of the English version of Charles Aznavour's "La Boheme". She really brings life to the emotions of the song to a point that with closed eyes I could feel myself in Montmartre or on the banks of the Seine amid the painters and book sellers back then when I spent an afternoon and evening in Paris when younger, each tile I was coming back from working on a Museum in the Loir et Cher before continuing my journey to home in Belgium. And the fact I love the song so much made it even more special (I litteraly got overwhelmed with emotion )
When the media finally spotlights AJ'S talent, this should start the show! ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!!! Like another comment said this is the best homage to AJ ever, nothing else comes close.

Your true feelings were shown about how you feel about a truly unique artist. I am 74 and I have never seen a more deserving artist that sings with compassion and feeling that others just dont project. The most important person in this world for me is my daughter, and her name is the same, first and last. And I`m an old guy, 83, with a young heart and soul, and both Angies keep me that way. Plus being sober for 33 and a half years just might have something to do with it all also. Thank you Angelina Jordan and your family, love you and your music from your heart and soul.

Great documental about not only a superve artist, but a wonderful human. Not everyone gets Angelina. You need to have an appretiation for good, emotional music not junk-food music. But those that understand what she is about, like you AMR, can only fall in love with her artistry. A unique artist and person, her time will come. Hope for a part two or three.
Nicely done. I first heard Angelina about five years ago, and I became addicted immediately. I’m in my 70’s, and I’ve been a music fan all my life. My father introduced me to jazz and blues, and I lived through the beginning of rock-n-roll and then the incredible music of the 60’s. No singer has come remotely close to the effect that Angelina’s singing has on me. I have listened to many of her songs hundreds of times, and I still react emotionally and even physically to them. She is literally once in a lifetime. And she’s still a teenager.
Oh man, I wasn't ready for this! 🥲What a beautiful, well thought out, correctly documented tribute to Angelina. Your voice as the narrator is outstanding too 😊 There is so much to be said about Angelina's unique voice, her ability to touch people's hearts through music, her compelling storytelling and songwriting, her immense appreciation and love for all those who support the dream she had since she was a child: "to spread love throughout the world". A testament of this were the Summer concerts in Norway she had last year and her recent concert in Portsmouth, NH, where people from around the world traveled to hear and see her perform. A sincere thanks goes out to her family who encouraged her to pursue that dream while at the same time allowing her to enjoy her childhood, continue her studies and keeping her grounded and humble as she is still to this day. Even if we put her amazing voice to the side, when you read a 9 year-old girl's book like "Between Two Hearts" (Mellom to hjerter) telling her experience with a poor Middle East girl the way Angelina did, you immediately recognize that this is a very special human being, Thank you for doing this ♥Anxiously looking forward to the next episode!

Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. Lovingly placing her dolls on the couch, to be her audience, she would perform concerts, honing her craft. The emotions Angelina felt from each song were deep and moving. She sang in order to have the listener feel and understand the emotions she felt. At age 6, Angelina befriended a shoeless orphan girl about her age, who desired to become a doctor but confided in Angelina it would never happen since she had siblings who needed her to simply survive. Angelina told the orphan to never give up hope and to always pursue her dreams. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the orphan girl, saying the shoes no longer fit her. Sometimes a little white lie is needed. The orphan girl, so thankful for the gift, asked Angelina what she desired to be in life. Angelina said she wanted to sing for the entire world. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes. Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her. Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. We recently learned Republic Records built a studio for Angelina to create her art. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.

Fame was so easy when she was younger because there was very little competition. But now she has other singers around every bend all desperately wanting to be recognized as the best in their field. It may take some time for the masses to recognize just what a musical genius Angelina is when "Fluff" music seems to be what the younger music fans are buying, not art Angelina wishes to sing.
If that path is what some "fans" are concerned about, they'll be the first to criticize her being rushed into the "business" and "sell out" & meet the requirements to compete... Angelina doesn't need to compete, nor conform to be a ⭐... And no true fan would want her to be used then tossed out like yesterday's news... I'm sure you can name a few singers who now are "has beens." The music industry in the States is known to eat their own... Don't forget she's considered a global ARTIST and KUDOS to her for wanting to spread her wings here... She's wise, and being groomed to deal with the challenges... Anyone who is familiar with her 10 year run, beginning when she was 7 and first appeared on NGT in Norway doing a close replication of Gloomy Sunday by the great Billie Holiday, knows that her command of multiple genres is truly extraordinary. I have never heard another singer with her versatility, and now at 17 she is beyond the heights of stardom with the release of her own songs in her current EP 'Old Enough'. Her 'at home' renditions of 'Stay' and 'A Million Years Ago', made famous by Rhianna and Adele, respectively, actually bring forth more emotion laden penetration than both those great singers, and it's because she has been mentored by the most improvisation jazz singer of all time, Billie Holiday, and incorporates so many unique facets of vocalizing invented by Billie, which especially come to the fore in heartfelt ballads. A top exec at Stargate said he knew of only three singers who could produce a production ready song in 'one take' and they are Beyonce, Sam Smith......and Angelina. Simply listen to her 'at home' performances done in 'one take' regarding 'Stay' and 'A Million Years Ago' and you will better appreciate her genius at work.

AMR - What a wonderful Retrospective!! Thank you so very much!! I had to come back and add that I was so looking forward to this when you announced it and I'm not disappointed. I knew it would be good given all of your reactions to Angelina. I've been enjoying my time in this rabbit hole for 3.5 years. I did manage to get to her concert in Portsmouth! I've seen thousands of reactions to Angelina during this time. While I've enjoyed quite a number of reactors, yours have become among my very favorite. And I'd like to thank you for explaining to this stupid 57 year old the magic of "Song for A". I truly didn't get it before. I knew it was an old poem put to music with her specifically in mind or for her. I didn't know the whole story and not being a musician, I didn't understand why this piece was good. I didn't dislike it but I didn't understand it so it was near the bottom of my Angelina playlist. I admit that I didn't understand her first two performances at NGT at first. While I had experienced some music from the Billie Holliday era, I didn't ever really spend a lot of time there. It was only after I went back and learned about and listened to Billie that I understood the quality of Angelina's first two NGT performances. (And yeah, I'm 57 and this 'kid' is teaching me about the classics - of course I knew many of them, but she has taught me a lot I didn't know). Anyway, I just want to thank you for all of your wonderful reactions and explanations from a singers point of view. I knew this retrospective would be great because I can tell you are truly a fan. Great documental about not only a superve artist, but a wonderful human. Not everyone gets Angelina. You need to have an appretiation for good, emotional music not junk-food music. But those that understand what she is about, like you AMR, can only fall in love with her artistry. A unique artist and person, her time will come. Hope for a part two or three.
Nicely done. I first heard Angelina about five years ago, and I became addicted immediately. I’m in my 70’s, and I’ve been a music fan all my life. My father introduced me to jazz and blues, and I lived through the beginning of rock-n-roll and then the incredible music of the 60’s. No singer has come remotely close to the effect that Angelina’s singing has on me. I have listened to many of her songs hundreds of times, and I still react emotionally and even physically to them. She is literally once in a lifetime. And she’s still a teenager.

There is so much to be said about Angelina's unique voice, her ability to touch people's hearts through music, her compelling storytelling and songwriting, her immense appreciation and love for all those who support the dream she had since she was a child: "to spread love throughout the world". A testament of this were the Summer concerts in Norway she had last year and her recent concert in Portsmouth, NH, where people from around the world traveled to hear and see her perform.
A sincere thanks goes out to her family who encouraged her to pursue that dream while at the same time allowing her to enjoy her childhood, continue her studies and keeping her grounded and humble as she is still to this day.
Even if we put her amazing voice to the side, when you read a 9 year-old girl's book like "Between Two Hearts" (Mellom to hjerter) telling her experience with a poor Middle East girl the way Angelina did, you immediately recognize that this is a very special human being,

Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. Lovingly placing her dolls on the couch, to be her audience, she would perform concerts, honing her craft. The emotions Angelina felt from each song were deep and moving. She sang in order to have the listener feel and understand the emotions she felt.
At age 6, Angelina befriended a shoeless orphan girl about her age, who desired to become a doctor but confided in Angelina it would never happen since she had siblings who needed her to simply survive. Angelina told the orphan to never give up hope and to always pursue her dreams. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the orphan girl, saying the shoes no longer fit her. Sometimes a little white lie is needed. The orphan girl, so thankful for the gift, asked Angelina what she desired to be in life. Angelina said she wanted to sing for the entire world. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes.
Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her.
Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. We recently learned Republic Records built a studio for Angelina to create her art. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.

It may take some time for the masses to recognize just what a musical genius Angelina is when "Fluff" music seems to be what the younger music fans are buying, not art Angelina wishes to sing.
Let's convince them otherwise.
If that path is what some "fans" are concerned about, they'll be the first to criticize her being rushed into the "business" and "sell out" & meet the requirements to compete... Angelina doesn't need to compete, nor conform to be a ⭐... And no true fan would want her to be used then tossed out like yesterday's news... I'm sure you can name a few singers who now are "has beens." The music industry in the States is known to eat their own... first appeared on NGT in Norway doing a close replication of Gloomy Sunday
by the great Billie Holiday, knows that her command of multiple genres is
truly extraordinary. I have never heard another singer with her versatility, and
now at 17 she is beyond the heights of stardom with the release of her own
songs in her current EP 'Old Enough'. Her 'at home' renditions of 'Stay' and 'A
Million Years Ago', made famous by Rhianna and Adele, respectively, actually
bring forth more emotion laden penetration than both those great singers, and
it's because she has been mentored by the most improvisation jazz singer of all
time, Billie Holiday, and incorporates so many unique facets of vocalizing
invented by Billie, which especially come to the fore in heartfelt ballads. A top exec
at Stargate said he knew of only three singers who could produce a production ready
song in 'one take' and they are Beyonce, Sam Smith......and Angelina. Simply listen to
her 'at home' performances done in 'one take' regarding 'Stay' and 'A Million Years Ago'
and you will better appreciate her genius at work.

I have been following Angelina Jordan since she was a child and all that I can say is that Angelina Jordan is the real deal with any song that she hears and likes by making it her own song by being able to make the same sounds as the original singers. I had to come back and add that I was so looking forward to this when you announced it and I'm not disappointed. I knew it would be good given all of your reactions to Angelina. I've been enjoying my time in this rabbit hole for 3.5 years. I did manage to get to her concert in Portsmouth! I've seen thousands of reactions to Angelina during this time. While I've enjoyed quite a number of reactors, yours have become among my very favorite. And I'd like to thank you for explaining to this stupid 57 year old the magic of "Song for A". I truly didn't get it before. I knew it was an old poem put to music with her specifically in mind or for her. I didn't know the whole story and not being a musician, I didn't understand why this piece was good. I didn't dislike it but I didn't understand it so it was near the bottom of my Angelina playlist.
I admit that I didn't understand her first two performances at NGT at first. While I had experienced some music from the Billie Holliday era, I didn't ever really spend a lot of time there. It was only after I went back and learned about and listened to Billie that I understood the quality of Angelina's first two NGT performances. (And yeah, I'm 57 and this 'kid' is teaching me about the classics - of course I knew many of them, but she has taught me a lot I didn't know).
Anyway, I just want to thank you for all of your wonderful reactions and explanations from a singers point of view. I knew this retrospective would be great because I can tell you are truly a fan. Thank you!
