Mr. Abbott I have seen quite some A-10C videos on youtube the last 3 months. Yours are one of the best if not the best. You are so clear, informative and structured. I hope you will continue flying and continue teaching us rookies out here.
Just like to say thanks a lot for all these tutorial videos. As a user of civ sims (like FSX) for over 15 years I'm lost with all the in depth systems and weapons for the A10 so your videos are a god send!
I'm new to DCS and the A10C but have been flying desk top flight sims (MS) since and 1988. (yes I'm quite old LOL) As oppose to thumbing through mounds of printed material and not to mention needing a second income just to print everything out, I find your video is very well done. Thanks a bunch!
You Sir, are a tribute to humanity. Well, at least the DCS part of humanity ;) I´m just getting back into the A-10, re-learning everything and have just finished getting my X52P and TIR setup. In other words I´ll be sinking my teeth into actually getting to manage all the systems and your videos are perfect study material.
@Fish's Flight Sim Videos THANK-YOU for the AM/FM/UHF lesson with presets! I didn't even know about presets after purchasing ALL of the A10C DLC including the tank killer upgrade. It wasn't in the lessons. So thank-you and keep 'er up!
From main game menu goto OPTIONS, select A10 Sim as AIRCRAFT, and HOTAS as category. Scroll down to MIC aft, down, fwd and UP. There you will see what keys control your radio mic switches.
More than helpful, I finally turned off easy comms and mastered the radios. Shame the clickable menus no longer work F key bashing is a pain in the ass and distracting.
Hmm, the interphone works fine from a cold jet, but for VHF or UHF radios, in my version,1.1.1.1 , need to have the APU generator or the AC generator on to enable communication. I can talk, but get no feedback
Are you a teacher irl? :D very good tutorial. Sad that the radios dont automatically switch the loaded frequencies what you can see in the manual mode. For example if I changed from preset 1 to preset 2, I would also see the freq numbers changing. That confuses me.
We are very spoiled with digtal stuff. Those old radios work on a dial, so no mechanical way to turn them. I guess real pilots will have all that stuff written on their flight plan card, on their knee. I always have a small notebook and pen by my desk when flying.

Very good tutorial. Clear and easy to follow even for non native speakers. No wild jumping around on the screen. Congratulation !!
Gerry, another brilliant tutorial - clear, concise and, as always, accompanied by a great presentation style - love them - many thanks

I enjoy your training videos - you cover the material very well. Please keep it up!
Thanks for the info it is a pitty that there is no training for radio control but your video helps a lot

Actually the systems once you get a hang of it are very simple to operate.

I don't have a Thrustmaster warthog stick, so how can I switch to UHF radio via a key command instead of a mic switch? Help is appreciated

thx for the tutorial, but i still have problem i can't call to taxi, neither anything else , does that work without microphone , plz advise thx
Thank you for the tutorial.
Great job, Garry! At 3:50, do you use any clickable radio mod, or is it clickable (and can be dragged) by default?
one more thing , how did u display the atc menu in the right of your screen???
Extremely helpful.
How do you give different aircraft channel numbers?
Gerry, I see you are using your mouse to activate radio commands, is that easily done through the Sim itself or is it a MOD ?
Not sure of the current status, but its a mod. Google 'dcs clickable radio menu' there's a thread by PeterP on the ED forums.
Rgr, thank you.
Your tutorial vids are excellent, I've learnt alot from them.
many thanks
Ok when you ask to start up they will tell you that you are clear to taxi. Once you taxi to the runway you then request take off.
great video!! thanks a lot!
a 4 way switch on the throttle. closest to the thumb.

How Do you get the right Main menu
Good job
