Thanks! There is also another switch left of the glove compartment that can be turned OFF. I just recently serviced my vehicle, and they had pushed the off switch for the rear power door, likely because they didn't want to mistakeningly open it in the garage area.

Thanks for posting this comment. My problem was solved because of that switch by the glove compartment as well. It was serviced yesterday & I just changed the air filter for it on my own.

On my 2013 Toyota Venza there is a rectangle button on the lower dash below the open and close button that turns the power off.

I don’t even have to check. That’s not my problem, though I wish it was. I replaced the struts but there seems to be no power or signal getting to them. There is not a noise like it’s trying to work. Is there a fuse somewhere I’m not finding?

Our 2010 Highlander rear door won't open anymore. We can open the window to put things in but door won't work. $2K is quote from dealer. Looking to try and fix it myself.

Ours stopped working. 2K was the quote from the dealership. We have to open the window to put in items.
How dangerous is it for mechanism if I try to manually open the door, can the servo motors be damaged?
Forcing the power door manually is not dangerous or harmful to the vehicle on occasion. If this is done repeatedly or on a regular basis it can cause accelerated wear on the power door components.

You fixed it for now. But Those doors are problematic. Not just on 2017 or 19. Every since 2014 They will be like that if the glass part is loose or not. They stop closing all the way. If not it will be eventually.

Now Toyota has gone to hell friggin great. Sometime around 2005 or 7. Might as well get a ford or Chevy.
I switched to Nissan. Wife still loves Toyota. Can't tell you how much she's paid the dealership in repairs. 2010.
What a BS reason for it not to open. How about posting on how to fix this for people that have real issues with their lifting door
